Eh, so far I have noticed that it is much harder to earn gold, but as far as the items, they are less childish. :D

Heh, I am still on Gaia, but as far as doing anything on that site, I stopped that quite a long time ago. Like when all the inflammation started, and all the newbies and the bump threads took over the CB. x_X

Heck I remember when the REALLY good items were around 30k. x_X

The one thing that I always say first when comparing Gaia and Mene is that the community here is soo much smaller. You actually have the chance to make friends and then run across them all over the site. :) And gold earning isn't so bad. I suggest finding a nice hangout thread to chat with people in. That way the gold builds up quick while you're having fun chats!

The differences between the two communities can be a little vast! Be sure to take a look over the FAQ to get acquainted with the rules. I know I was a little surprised to find a community where people actually talk to each other rather than have bump competitions or something. ^^;;
