How different is the anime from the manga? I've never watched the anime before so I'm completely clueless.

The story is different in the anime. After the "Jack the Ripper" part, it is all fiction except for "Curry Cook-off". Although it was more filler it was still really good. It had alot of Grell in it too! I love the way they ended it. It was very sad, it had me in tears! The best thing is it kept the Kuroshitsuji feel to it
