Greetings, Menewshans... I trust you all remember the challenge I provided you with during the most recent festivities.
I have finished reading all of the submissions, and I must first thank all who entered... After having exhausted Menewsha's library, having something new to read was quite a treat. I was not aware that Menewsha housed so many talented writers. I trust I will be seeing your works in the library in years to come...
Having said that, I will now be announcing the winners the contest, as well as the mysterious prizes...

Winner:
Treading Water by Vix Viral
Vix Viral managed to fit all the elements of a good story into my rather short 1,000 word constraint. Her story was both interesting and suspenseful, providing an immediate emotional attachment to her main character, making the ending that much more poignant.
For winning, Vix Viral will be receiving a Pirate's Booty.

Second Place:
We have two second place winners, actually...
Untitled by nvs
Although nvs says English is her third language, it is not at all apparent in this interesting read. She excellently fit intrigue and an unexpected twist into this tiny story. It almost seemed as though I were watching one of those crime shows that are so popular on the mainland.
Untitled by Nolori
Nolori's story provided superbly written surrealism that had me quite interested. She used just enough description to provide an eery setting but showed restraint that kept it from becoming tedious. This is, perhaps, one of the best takes on a ghost ship that I have read.
nvs and Nolori will both be awarded with a Waves of Naias and a Weather Forecast.

Third Place:
Unable to ignore these two entries, I have created a third place for them...
Untitled by Goblin Maiden, and Untitled by heartages
Both of these writers were forced to cut out large pieces of their story to fit within my rather short constraints. Unfortunately, the condensing showed in their works, as they both felt as though they ended too soon. However, the stories were immensely interesting, and I was disappointed to see them end. I encourage both of these writers to keep their original draft of their stories, and to consider fleshing them out into a full novel. Both of you, please feel free to private message me your full stories once they are completed, I would be quite pleased to read them...
As their stories are more appropriate for a novel than a page or two, Goblin Maiden and heartages will both be receiving a Tome of Nightmares and a Book of Daydreams.

Runners Up:
Greed by Casiana was an interesting tale with a moral... and a rather disturbing bird.
Over the Ocean Grand by Woodlandnymph had superb description. I found myself aching and hurting along with her character.
Untitled by Winter Wind was a cute twist on what was expected, fit into a bite-sized story.
Untitled by Pearl provided an interesting tale of murder and revenge.
These four will all receive an Ire of Naias as well as a squid hat from the stores in the color of their choosing.

Also, a small error in the most recent order I placed for stock in my store caused me to end up with a bulk of bone necklaces... Those who entered but did not win will receive one each as a small token of my appreciation...

Prizes will be handed out soon...

Thank you so much, Lise! 8D Good thing you told me to check my trades, I would never have known. O__o;; I was actually going to check the Community Forums to see if the results were out, but then I forgot... Haha, so thank you very much again. I'm glad you enjoyed my story.
