It's a pen-and-paper RPG, it's been made into a videogame, the dice are highly recognizable...

So, what's your opinion?

Have you heard of it? Played it? Liked it? Hated it?

It's ok til 4th edition, then they should of renamed it dungeons and warcraft since it feels like a really bad mmo on paper.

I've never played it but I have heard about it. o.O;

I've heard lots of thing about D&D, and I can't say that I would ever consider playing it. I make fun of my boyfriend all the time, saying him and his friends spend all their time playing it when they only really play Guild Wars and World of Warcraft... But I keep my point.

I dont think D&D deserves as much of the bad rep it gets. its no more dorky than RPing on a message forum or anything. However the quality of the groups and GM can really affect peoples opinions on it.

For example my cousin tried it one time with a group and the GM sucked and he hated it ever since. never will even consider playing it again because of that incident.

I like RIFTS better.

I think its pretty cool. But at the same time, players take the game way too seriously. I remember watching the show on the creators. They said the game is meant to send the mind into far off places with your imagine. But i st around a table at an anime convention and got yelled at for "not doing it right" -_-. Oh well. Its still lots of fun when your not playing with jerks ^_^

Well I'll be DMing, so any failures in plot are truly my fault, I suppose. You interested?

I have no clue. I was actually gonna base it off 2nd or 3rd mostly, but play in a very unorthodox manner. Some stat changes, some 'new' spells, unknown terrain, borrowed classes, ect... XD

Never heard of RIFTS...

Me, my older brother and his friends, we used to campaign a lot.
Now I campaign with my boyfriend, and 6 of my other friends.
I've been playing on and off since I was about 9 and I'm now 18.

Probubly him before me but hey who knows mabey both...i've been looking for a group to play somthing with though i'm just to busy for a serious game

I've played RIFTS a few times, its not a bad system.

My dad knows the Owner of the puplishing company as a friend terms so i was started out young ^^

I've actually played D&D before. I think it can be fun with the right group of people, but I ended up playing my first time with a group of skilled(They've played it many times before) people and joined right in the middle of the story, so my first experience wasn't that good. But on the bright side, I still think it could be fun to do.

*rolls around* Anyone wanting in on my campaign better jump on before it begins! :p
