@Kat - Lol That would be funny to see the reactions of library ladies if you actually did pounce on a book in a shelf :XD
@Min - Well sorta... Not ebooks really. Just pdfs that my friend sent me in the emai. but I've read a few books on the computer or handheld device so far and I rather liked it. It'll never replace a real book for me though. Those will always be the best.
@Dmitri Blair - Cool! Whatcha reading?
@Cedura -

So I finished the Grapes of Wrath... I have decided that Steinbeck was a very twisted person, because his works are all very twisted (3rd novel of his I have read)... but it also had a very unended ending... he left most the characters hanging in limbo >.<

its about a tenant farming family during the great depression and they are being forced off their land because of debt... and they go to california (which is talked about like its the promise land) only they get there, and there is no work, and they are hungry and dirty and treated worse than animals.....
But the reason it is so twisted is that he expects you to feel sorry for them... but the father is supposed to be head of the family, but he is socially weak, the mother takes control and emotionally beats him down and she is ruthless in how she keeps the family going. Her older pregnant daughter whines alot and doesnt work... her husband runs out... her two younger kids are brats, her oldest boy is deformed and simple, her middle boy is a murderer, and her younger boy is a run-around, they hook up with a preacher who had "relationships" with minor girls in a corn field when they were "praising Jesus" and most of them either die or give up on living by the end of the book... but the ones that are still living, you never find out what really happens to them....

I had to read a Steinbeck book in high school. Of Mice and Men was the title...also depressing and it didn't make sense.

yeah... he is very depressing, never have figured out why people wrote such depressing things during the Great Depression... I figure people would need bbbooks for cheering up, not books for getting more depressed... and the ending of this one is just gross...... Wont spoil it unless ya want me too.... just in case you want to go read 650 odd pages only to realize you just wasted about a week and a hlf of your life >.<

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Steinbeck so I don't really care if you spill.
