I think it's pretty nifty, I'm in Firefox and it doesn't mess me up much. And if it gets bad you can reply with an advanced options anyway. It does depend on how quickly the thread moves.

I know during events, for instance, I'll be replying in a thread and by the time I finish posting there are another several posts I want to respond to... so I have to wait for someone else to post in case a lot of posts get made while I'm replying.
