Has anyone seen this movie yet? I love Claire Danes, and ever since I saw that other guy in Casanova, I was like 'Aww', so it didn't really surprise me all that much to find out that he has a starring role.

And who doesn't like Michelle Pfeiffer (Or Robert DeNiro)?! xDD Or fantasy movies for that matter. ;-;

I want to go and see it in theatres. :33 Does anyone want to come with me? ;DD

If you've seen it, was it good? D: I really do hope so. I've been itching for a fantasy 'era' movie. Screw you, Harry Potter. D<

I WANT to see that film!!!
A shame I can't see it until September 21st... that's the Norwegian premiere... :( I might have too high expectations for it, but I seriously can't wait!!! I am at present not too fond of the actors/actresses playing, but I'm sure they'll do a wonderful job... (I hope) ^^

  • The acting itself was pretty good - but I generally hated the plot/story. I do agree it was very original - but it wasn't really what I would want to watch

Hm...Claire Danes..I've only seen her as Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet"; I do like her though. She's pretty good. I'm a fan of Kate Beckinsale, though 8D

Anyway. I'm a huge fan of Neil Gaiman, so I really want to see this movie. However...I'm not sure I like what I'm feeling. Like with any book-turned-movie, it's hard to capture the spirit and essence. ((Harry Potter's a great example--the movies blew)) I'm still going to go see it, just because I want to see how it was done.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I think it looks charming enough. I think I have to wait a while to see it though. School is starting tomorrow, and I'm just super busy right now.. Perhaps I'll watch it online or something? xD

I think it looks like a good movie though! So I'm highly anticipating this!

I want to see it!

It looks a little weird but I seriously ♥♥♥ fantasy type things. I don't even really know what it's even about, but it sounds good to me just because of the fantasy xD

My favorite part of the preview is where she is naked [okay that sounds bad but you don't see anything only her head! >.<]and she looks at the camera and goes "Ohhh." lol Sounds really strange right there especially if you've never seen the preview, but...I still like it =]

It just came out too, didn't it? I might round up some friends to go see it with me! =D

I kinda want to see it, but kinda don't.

For one thing, it has a bunch of actors and actresses I enjoy, and the premise looks interesting.

But on the other hand, it's Neil Gaiman. I really REALLY dislike him and his works. It''s all "awesome premise, piss-poor execution."

So I probably won't see it. Only way I'll go is if some friends drag me along to see it some afternoon or something.

I'd like to see it, but I don't think I'd be willing to spend the dough needed to sit in a theater. I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD, then convince one of my friends to rent it out. It's the cheap and easy way.

A saw a couple of Michelle Pfeiffer's interviews over the past few weeks, and she really got me interested. You could tell that the role was near and dear to her heart. I'm sure that just her performance alone would make the film worthwhile.

Knerd, it's worth the money for the theater price.

I went and saw it earlier today. Was one of the few movies I was looking forward to this summer, and went it saw it at the early o'clock with a good friend, because he had to work at like 4.

But I loved it! I'm a Neil gaiman fan, and well, it's been a book on my list, but decide to wait till after seeing movie, to read book and compare. because I know from past experinces, that reading the book before seeing movie can soemtimes ruin the movie. But different medium requires a different way of story telling.

And Robert DeNiro is fantastic! I love his character the most. A gay pirate is wonderful! And the boy who play Tristian is adorable, and claire danes was lovely also. But the Ghost's, Pirates, and Michelle Pfier's character's I think are the best in the movie. Love the dialouge.

I think it looks interesting, but I'm going to wait for the DVD. I hate movie theatres, regardless of the movie they're showing. I would rather wait and watch it in the comfort of my own home than pay an overpriced amount to watch it in a crowded theatre with strangers and sticky floors.

I adore Neil Gaiman's work. He does not get recognized as much any more and for one I am glad they decided to do Stardust. It was a great movie and very different then what has been out for the last few years. It is a fantasy film but different on so many levels. I like romance as well and this is a defiently a nice little romantic adventure story. :) I really think people should give it a chance.

My boyfriend and I went to go see it because I thought it was suppose to be scary and really thrilling.
But I was dead wrong.
Gah.
What a waste of 15$. =/
It's a child movie and about 20 minutes into it we're like...this is crap.
But we manage to stay for about an hour or so.
I got so bored of watching it that we could be doing something more interesting then watching this stupid movie.

I've got to admit there was some cute things in it but come on the beginning was horrible.
Boy goes to the other world.
Boy meets a princess.
Boy and princess has sex.
9 months later, boy gets a baby.
How lame and stupid is that?!!?
-.-

This movie was FAN-TASTIC! I loved it, seriously. I got to go to a screening for free, which really made my day, but the story was great and I especially loved Robert DiNiro's gay air pirate captain character. HILARIOUS!

I'd recommend this to everyone. It reminds me of the Princess Bride in a way actually--a good fairy tale-like movie. :D

I thought it was really good. I went in expecting a fairy tale, and that's what I got. I was a little disappointed by some of the things in the ending, but other than that, I enjoyed myself. I loved Tristan/Tristran's mother (mostly because she looked like my aunt) and the whole pirate thing was funny and Lamia was amazing. So yes, I liked it.

I saw it. I actually thought it was rather good. It's an interesting style of movie that you just don't seem to see as much anymore. It's up there with The Neverending story and Labyrinth. I absolutely enjoyed it.

I just saw this today (my first trip to a movie theatre in over 2 years!) and thought it was absolutely delightful! I loved the fantasy/fairy tale feel of it all and laughed the entire way through it. I thought it was so cute when she glowed around Tristan.

My favorite bit in there were the princes. I thought they were hilarious - the way they'd laugh and cheer and all that. Definitely my favorite people in the movie.

I would totally see this again. Like Manga mentioned, it really did remind me of the 80's fantasies and I think there should totally be more movies like that made. I can definitely see myself purchasing this when it comes out on DVD. In the meantime, I'm going to hunt down the soundtrack.

This movie is great like most have said. XD I really like the gay Skypirate, and when he was "cutting" his hair. XD;;;

The whole concept is cute too, having a star be a girl and have her shine.

The cutting the hair thing was really cleverly done.
