Scariest video game you've ever played?
So yeah, if there's a topic like this already, feel free to lock this and move on and stuff.
So have you ever played any video games that were completely and utterly scary? Resident evil 4, totally :3 It scared me. I didn't get past the first level. Nevermind the fact I wasn't even supposed to be playing it... |
Jericho has got me scared. But I still beat it. As for the R.E. games, I always thought they were quite easy.

Alone in the Dark: The new nightmare. T'is also the only scary game I ever played. I don't really like scary things. >_>

Metriod Prime scared the heck out of me. XD Those crazy Space Pirates would always come out of no where, and they would scare me to death with that music of theirs. XD

there is only 1 truly scary game i have ever played, and that is F.E.A.R. (Or First Encounter Assault Recon) truly scared the **** out of me :shock: |

Resident Evil Four was the scaryist game I've ever played O.o; I like screamed every time I got attacked xD
o.o; I screamed really loud and threw the controller when my head got cut off for the first time...But its also my favorite game ever >w< I've played it like 3 times all the way through xD Its so fun. |
All of the Silent Hill games. Hahaha, all of the boyfriends I've ever had, they made me play through it because they were too scared to. xD I love them though, because they really weed their way into my mind. I think it's amazing when something can scare me like that. :p

It's a tie between Clocktower 3 and Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly. Both scare me but for different reasons, Clocktower 3 has those butcher guys with the huge cleaver that chase you and Fatal Frame just has the right mood to keep me on the edge of my seat, add the ghosts and I'm very jumpy.

As stupid as this sounds, but Myst scares me, mainly due to the music and how creepy it is, that and I just had no clue what I was doing, along with the same type as Myst is Riddle of the Sphinx but that one is worse with the dim lighting parts narrow passage ways and the actually event of killing yourself if you screw up a trap puzzle.

This is going to sound dumb, but Tomb Raider I, II, III scared me. I was like still in elementary school when I played these games. I was afraid when a bad guy came out from a corner or an animal snuck up behind me. Some of it was so scary at some points that I made my dad come and kill them for me. So lame, yes, but it's scary for a child.

I've never really been scared by a game were i can't complete it but doom 3 and resident evil 3 doom because they come out of knowere and r.e 3 because theres one bit were theres this inocent door there BOOM like eight zombies try to eat you me and mate got really freaked by and was laughing at the fact that we like screemed at it lol

I have to say Diablo (I don't have many games. <.<), although it's only 2D but the backgrounds still frightens me. @_@

A game that scared me was Baulders Gate. The music was so eerie and the monsters just coming out of nowhere, and the crypt. And the ending freaked me out so much. But, I loved the game XD And I had to get Baulders Gate 2 when it came out.

Those are: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem Thief: The Dark Project And the Cradle level in Thief: Deadly Shadows...which is said to be the scariest game level ever created. (It's a big mind f***, if you know what I mean.) |

Augh, Silent Hill 3 definately scared me. I still haven't beaten it. I might dust it off later but I dunno.
The RE series has never really scared me, I haven't beaten the RE4 yet though. But thats has less to do with me being scared, and more with me being lazy >> |
I actually love scary games. xD Jericho had a few freaky moments. Doom 3 was the first horror game I played and it scared the crap out of me. I remember that once I jumped and cracked my skull on the headboard of my bed and nearly knocked myself out.

Currently it is Fatal Frame. Silent Hill 3 creeped me out.

Silent Hill 2 and 3 creep me out, and they still do everytime I play them. RE 4 also scared me a little. Not as much as the Silent Hill games, but it still scared me.

Well I dont normally get scared by games, but I will admit that Doom 3 freaked me out a bit.
mostly the sound design. You hear a pipe bust, and so you turn, nothing is there. so you turn back around, BAM. giant floating head is about to flame broil you. |
Resident Evil has never been scary for me. Try Fatal Frame, now that one is what I call scary. Silent Hill is creepy too, that's what I consider second to Fatal Frame. I have also tried Kuon, though it's creepy, it's not as good as FF.
