Well I did see one new dead one out there. Not so many as I was hoping but maybe I killed the majority of them before the exterminator came. Fingers crossed!

So I was listening to this audiobook on Spotify but apparently you have limited listening hours and I reached my limit and got stranded in my reading. Boo. There's such a long waiting list for the library so I guess I won't be able to find out what's going on with that book anytime soon...

Nooooo that's so not cool, You'll just have to distract yourself with other books in the meantime.

Does your listening hours reset at some point?

Listening hours do reset but I'm not sure if it's on the first of the month or on the date that I originally subscribed to their service... I should try to Google that.

I just found it, it'll renew on 5/7/25. Boooo! I did start another audiobook from the library though in the meantime.

I finished "The Locked Door" by Frieda McFadden. It was so/so. I started reading "Under My Skin" by Lisa Unger.

I finished book thirty today! It was "When She Was Me". For the most part I liked the book though I did have trouble keeping the characters straight. I imagine it was probably from reading the audio book. I imagine the chapters had headings in the physical book that would have made it less confusing.

The title intrigues me, was it a switching PoV type? I could see that getting a bit confusing yeah :O

It was switching point of view between two identical twins. So yeah, very confusing!

That sounds really interesting! What was it like, were the two twins very different?

Goodness, that's even more likely to cause confusion! Could be really interesting if done well though :O

They were quite different! One was agoraphobic and timid while the other was more outgoing and curious. They had both gone through a traumatic experience and come out the other side quite differently.

I started reading the latest John Scalzi book "When the Moon Hits Your Eye". I love him as an author so I'm sure it'll be a fun read.

I myself have decided to start getting serious about a book series I have been reading slowly over the course of 2 years. I wanted to savor it, but recently decided that I'm savoring it too hard hahaha. So its become my main focus - The husky and his white cat Shizun.

Its a series about Mo Ran and Chu Wanning and all that occur between the two of them. Mo Ran is a terrible person in his original life. Several misunderstandings occured between them that leads Mo Ran to believe that Chu Wanning abandoned the person he (Mo Ran) loved most in the world to die. In this life Mo Ran never forgives him and eventually Mo Ran goes mad with hatred and revenge and it turns him into a black hearted person who slaughters hundreds of people and crowns himself emperor of the world. The whole while he torments and tortures Chu Wanning. Then an event occurs that leads to Chu Wannings death, and the last little bit of Mo Ran's sanity snaps. He decides that its time for him to die. So he digs a grave, takes poison and lays down in the grave.

And wakes up 16 years earlier at the age of 16. Before Shi Mei dies (Shi Mei being the person Mo Ran believes that he loves). Giving him a do over to save Shi Mei's life. Over time however, this time, he starts to learn the truth about the events that led to misunderstandings in the original life. Which leads him to the truth "Its always been Chu Wanning" he has always been obsessed with Chu Wanning because they are intrinsically linked together. And Mo Ran swears to be a better person, but his past life haunts him. That he was such a horrible person who did such horrible things.

The tormented Mo Ran is so heartbreaking. The love story between Mo Ran and Chu Wanning is heartbreaking. Its a super good series. That I was only allowing myself tiny little pieces at a time for so long. hahaha. I'm going to finish the series a bit more quickly now.

I can't say I followed all of that but the cover art is really pretty! I'm glad you're going to finally get to enjoy them all. I have an author like that that I quite like but have been kind of "saving" a few of their works for later to space them out.

I just finished The Midnight Library which was quite good. My listening hours on Spotify have reset so now I can get back to listening to Our Infinite Fates. I also finally unearthed my copy of Moby Dick and am starting to work on it again.

I kinda expected nobody to understand it hahaha. Its such a complex story line that its hard to describe in a simple summary. The Cover Art is GORGEOUS.

That's really interesting! I'm always curious about that, how two people can experience the same traumatic event and have totally different perspectives on it.

Oooo it sounds really Shakespearian! I love the tension of hating how awful you were in a past life, that does sound like really tasty torment.

The book I'm reading right now is also about past lives. It's a pair of lovers who must kill each other before their 18th birthday in every life and each time get reincarnated as someone else. It's pretty good but I would definitely appreciate starting to get some answers on what is truly going on...I'm just over halfway done so maybe some things will start being revealed. I hope anyway!

Its super clever too, because its told from the perspective of mostly Mo Ran but also a bit of Chu Wanning, and both of them are such unreliable narrators but the story constantly shifts in tone as they learn and shift themselves. Its honestly probably in my top 5 favorite series of all times.

I just finished Our Infinite Fates today. I feel like it took a long time to figure out what was going on and then towards the end things got really crazy but overall it was okay. I gave it four stars out of five.

I finished book 37 yesterday "I Who Have Never Known Men". I really enjoyed it and gave it five out of five stars on Goodreads. I can see how some people might not like it but I found it very interesting.

I needa start using my goodreads account.. I've been reading so many manga. My sister and I have been trying to find a way to track which manga we have so we can combine our library in the future someday. I'm wondering if goodreads could help me with that. We sorta hope to open up a manga cafe of some sort one day.

@ Kent: That would be pretty cool! I'm not sure if Goodreads allows you to keep a combined list with friends but you can certainly make a list for the titles that you own! I wonder if a simple spreadsheet might be the easiest way to go for a combined working doc though...
