Yeap. Or you could to a fixed list of what books you want to read, like some people do. I honestly prefer not to, so I'm free to read whatever catches my eye.
Iltu - That's a good point! You know a book was worth reading when you feel that way about the characters! If you like Sci Fi you totally should! Those books are a blast :P What's this Bartimaeous I keep hearing about? I'll have to go look it up on google
Really?! They've been out that long?! I only started reading them in febuary I think. I just finished the sixth book! :P We are talking about the ones with Will and Ranger Halt and Horace and Alyss and all them?
Taiyo - What's NaNoWriMo?
Sweets - Aw I hope you're feeling better now!
hmm... I haven't updated my list in a while... *goes to do so*
Car- I for sure will! Your judgement in books seems to be pretty darn awesome by my standards! :D The Bartimaeus books are really good if you like fantasy, do look them up! They're about a very sassy djinn named Bartimaeus, and the people that have to deal with him.
You bet we are! Haha, yeah, they've been out a while. The characters and plot all have a place in my heart, of course, but those books are also the reason I'm friends with one of my best friends. I have a lot to love them for!
I've got to get back to reading the newer ones so we can talk about them, you and I.
Do you have a favorite character?
@ Carn: NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. If I'm not mistaken it takes place in November and you've gotta write a 50,000 word novel in one month. I've never done it before so I'm not entirely sure.
I finished rereading the goddess magazine, really good inspiritational reads as well as spiritual enlightment articles involved. Eh, not sure what else to say about it though. I may start reading the iron witch quite soon since I'm quite bored at the moment.
I'm going from reading an extremely odd Doctor Who novel to Lovecraft (while revising for exams) so if I go insane that's probably the reason why.
Iltu - Oh well thank you! Right back at you! I do so love fantasy! I'll put them on my other list with the fey books.
Oh ok! I had no idea! I'm glad I came to them now though cause I hate having to wait for the next book in a series to come out. >.< I'm much happier when I find a series that's well established  Well that's cool! I'm afraid I don't have any cool things accociated with these books other than that I love them.
You do need to get back to reading them!!
As for a favorite Character, of course Will is at the top tied with Alyss and Horace but after them My other favorites are Halt and Erak and Gundar too after reading the sixth book. What about you?
Taiyo - Hey! Get your own pillow! :illgetu: *wrestles with Taiyo for control of the pillow*
Oh that sounds like fun! Man 50,000 words in a month! >.<! I don't think I could manage that.
Hey again Fam!
Has anyone ever read Ayn Rand's book called Atlas Shrugged?
I am SO DESPERATE to hunt down a copy of Water for Elephants, you guys. :gonk: I think my mom has it, but I can't find it and haven't been able to ask her where it is or if she's lent it to someone.
Sdgf- I'm a bit sickly, but hey, it's an excuse to rest and read! How about you?
Kat- Those reasons seem good enough to me! By the by, can you recommend a Doctor Who novel I can read without having watched the show and still understand?
Car- Thank you as well! Oh, I hate that too. >.< I mean, it's nice to follow series for a long time, but it's also nice to get them done as quickly as you'd like!
I really do! I've been waiting for the paperbacks to come out, but UGH it's taking so long...
I love Will, of course, but I think my favorite is Horace, closely followed by Halt and Gilan. I just really like how Horace grows as a character! Evelyn (I think that's her name!) and Alyss are cool, too. And Trobar! I adore Trobar.
Iltu: The Coming of the Terraphiles might actually be a good shout because from reading a few reviews it seems that if I'd been more familiar with Michael Moorcock's other works it would have made more sense to me. So it's more like a space-fantasy novel that just happens to feature the Doctor and one of his current companions Amy.
The other novels based on the new series seem to be aimed more at teens/young adults so they're pretty light reads. I think as long as you're aware of the basic concepts behind the show you could pick up any of them. They can be fairly basic so I'm not sure how much enjoyment someone would get out of them for their literary value alone.
The Classic Who books tend to be adaptations of the television serials but there are a fair number of original stories too. They probably require a greater understanding of which Doctor is involved and their individual differences in personality.
Iltu - Yea I just saw a few hardback editions at the store yesterday but no paperbacks :(
Oh yea! Gilan! He's pretty good too  And I love Trobar! For a second there
SPOILERX
I thought they had killed him at the end of the 6th book! But I'm so glad he recoved and that Will gave him his dog
Taiyo - Ahhh! Do I have a pice of paper on my back that says "Beat Carn Up!" ?!?!? :gonk:
Ah! Good idea! That wouldn't be good to have your brain melt
Sweets - Aw Sorry! I hope you start feeling better soon!
I got my hands on Water for Elephants! :D One of my friends had it on hold at the school library, but it was taking too long, so she got it from the regular library instead. Then her school hold came in yesterday and she checked it out under my name and gave it to me. LOVE HER
Ffff, it's so good so far! <3
Kat- Thanks! Yeah, that all made perfect sense. I have a basic understanding of Doctor Who, I've just not gotten around to the show yet. I'll look for that book!
Car-
SPOILERX
Oh my goodness, that freaked me out too!!!! And I was a bit sad Will had to give up Shadow, but it was better that Trobar had her. It would have been sadder if Will hadn't given her to him. Oh! And I was mad we had to wait a whole book for her to be named Shadow instead of something cool.
Taiyo - Grrrr.... *swipes my hands all over my back to dislodge any paper that might be stuck there*
Iltu - Yay!! I read a plot summary of that book just now and it seems like a pretty good read. I don't know if I'll ever get around to reading it myself but I'll put it in my to read list anyway
SPOILERX
Me too! I was gonna be really mad at Will if he had kept shadow, even if he was so attached to her. I know! I thought it was pretty ridiculous that he never named her though the whole of book 5 but when Trobar said that her name was shadow realization dawned on me :XD
I will hopefully be getting book 7 in the next couple of weeks!I figured I'd at least finish my Dirk Pitt novel first and The 12th Insight too before I start book 7  I can't wait!
