Argh. If I had the materials, i'd actually go and bind a book for the Menewshan history in it. Would even learn calligraphy from my mom to write in the history or something like that and then send it to someone.

....

I may have to do that anyways, even if it takes me a few months to be able to learn how to/have the time to do it.

All you have to do is design the cover.
A 400x400 image probably wouldn't be best, because it's a square. And you don't normally think of books as square, do you?
But if you can include everything you need into the image, don't worry about drawing the entire book. Just make sure it includes the title and author.

-hasn't been here in forever- ._. ;
I haven't gotten to reading lately since I returned my library books in on the 4th. XP
I did read a bit, though. xD
I don't care if it's a children's series, I still like the Dragons books by Chris D'Lacey. >>;
-read the Fire Etnernal over the weekend-
Feels weird starting where we left off, seeing as how I don't remember how we left off. XP;
But after a while it's not so confusing anymore. I can't wait for the next book, though!
So many questions left unanswered... XP

Finished Looking for Alaska by John Green, great book! I loved it, but the last two pages I skimmed over really. XD

I Also winded up finishing Wake by Lisa McMann, Reallly good book, though the way it was written was a disappointment. I would of liked it better if it was from first person point of view. I can't wait for the Sequel to the book though. So, for those that were looking at the book and were interested in reading it, do so. It won't disappoint you (though for some chance that it does, don't kill me XD )

I'm just a few pages away from finishing up Lies My Teacher Told Me by Lowen, so I'll be done with that by tomorrow. And I'll probably drag myself back in here to ask you guys what I should start reading next. :XD

And - You've got 10 more days to get your contest entries in!
We currently have no one competing.
If there aren't enough people, but there's still interest, I'm more than willing to extend the due date. Just speak up about it!

I'm reading a small book called there aint no memories in First Class by a man named Lowell Davis...
Its an auto-biography of a local artist. :yes:

My mom's friend wanted me to look at it yesterday, and I wasn't intending to even read it, I just wanted to look at some of his work, because I only vaguely recognized his name, and that really bothered me, because he is (and has been for some time, apparently) popular, and he's local.... :S
But anyway, I started reading it, and he's quite an interesting person! ^^
And only just slightly insane, like most of us artists. :XD

But I totally recommend it, even if you haven't the foggiest idea of who he is. Because he does some really pretty paintings. :drool:
Even the little black and whites in the book are quite lovely....

Knerd:: Have you tried mentioning it in the artist's forums? You know, like some of the R&C threads, or the Freebie forum maybe? :/
Maybe no one's entering just because not enough people know about it...
And I don't think that would count as advertising, since it is for a contest? :/

A link to the thread might help, too, Knerd. ^^
I know I'm more likely to do what someone's sig says if there's a link rather than having to look around for what they're talking about.

(Love the av, by the way. aeriise's, too.)

Menewshan history text! Uncovered at recent estate sale!
Not my best or most eye-catching entry, but there is something about old books that just draws me in!

I like it, aerii. :P

Old books catch my eye as well. Same as antiques, I suppose.

I remember, when I was little, my mom had this ragged old copy of Macbeth, and I was obsessed with it. xD
It had vines around the title, and it was hardback, but it was cloth-covered. Except for the holes that had been worn into the covering from years of being handled. And it was like the most amazing thing...:drool:
I found it in her room when I was six...and I claimed it as mine.
I couldn't even read it, but I just loved it. xD
Flipping through the pages...it was old, so it had kind of a musty smell. xD
And as I got older, I still couldn't comprehend the actual book, but I started reading the little footnotes that had been left by -literally- decades of college students. Even their little love notes that had been scrawled in the corners of the pages captivated me. xD

-sigh- I miss that book. TT_TT
