A new small restaurant has recently opened up on the street.
You've heard about it - this avenue of shops has been around for ages,
but recent ads posted everywhere have been promoting the Wallflower Café
for quite some time now! Intrigued by the latest grand opening,
you find yourself stepping inside the café, as a few seating hosts
and hostesses smile and greet you warmly.

"Welcome to the Wallflower Café! How may I serve you?
Table for two, perhaps? We've got the best seats in the house!"

We're not asking for anything fancy, really.

I don't mind whether you're super-advanced or not, just PLEASE use proper grammar & spelling while posting!

+ How many characters can you play?. We would advise you to start out with one, but you are ALLOWED TWO ROLEPLAY CHARACTERS MAX. If you want a third, you have to talk to me (Marguerite Blakeney), For-Chan Cookie and possibly white2fire about it. We'll discuss it then and if we feel like you are ready for a third character/deserve a third character, we'll let you know. But a third will be the absolute limit. Let me reiterate: You cannot start out with more than two characters and you must ask our permission if you really want a third.

+ Keep your actions PG-13 and following the Menewsha Terms of Service. So no R-rated or X-rated things in here. That's just rude.

+ No harassing people. That's also rude. Be respectful to your fellow Menewshans, please, and we will love you right back! I definitely want to reiterate this, especially if your character is an asshole or something. Just warn us about it first!

+ We're anti-Mary Sue/anti-Gary Stu. PLEASE don't act like you're the shit and try to be special so we all pay attention to you. We've already had our thread hijacked and are currently trying to deal with the problem. I'm going to have to start a whitelist/blacklist for this. You are forewarned. If you've broken this rule, you BETTER know who you are. You are VERY close to godmoding because of this, but there is quite a fine line.

+ There will be job openings from time to time, and in limited amounts, such as waitressing and cooking.
So if you would like a job position, you must wait until they're available. The boss position is obviously taken by
For-Chan Cookie. So be RESPECTFUL to her. She's not rescinding that job, nor would we want her to.

+ And if we're outside the RP?. You're allowed to walk down the street and enter, or pretty much do whatever you want outside. However, please don't make any unnecessary drama into the storyline that we don't need. We'll be ignoring that from now on. Most of our outside roleplay takes place after closing time of the cafe, which is pretty much at night. But please keep the main storyline inside the restaurant, as that is where everybody is.

August 28, 2009 - More talk about food on the Wallflower Corner thread leads to discussion of creating a roleplaying thread based on a restaurant and the need to roleplay in general!

August 29-30, 2009 - Research being done on what to include in the cafe. Thread created and set up by Marguerite Blakeney.

August 30, 2009 - Grand Opening menu created; Slight modification made to Application Form (added for Cafe Jobs); Character Profiles & Jobs created.

August 31, 2009 - Margie Blakeney has unfortunately had a family emergency today so PLEASE don't pressure her into anything. Added current Character Profile Applicants.

September 3, 2009 - Added more Character Profile Applicants. I'm actually getting someone to join Menewsha later today! : D

September 5, 2009 - We need ONE MORE CHEF right now, as WiFi isn't always around. People who applied for other jobs have to wait until we grow first. Till then, please hang around and post as a normal customer. We're always looking for more people to interact with!
Also added the policy that each day will be played out for 3-4 days and will change every Sunday and Wednesday. That way we're not playing the same day in this world FOREVER.
We've also found out that voting for a new menu each week isn't gonna work out as I am not able to edit my poll here at whim like on Gaia. We're just going to be adding things as we go on. Sorry for the inconvenience!

September 7, 2009 - We're not currently hiring a lot of people as we need more people as our regular customers. But feel free to "apply" for a position, because we'll let you know when we'll be hiring and keep you in consideration! We do need one spare person in every slot though since not all of us are available, so we DO need one extra chef, one extra barista and one extra waitress right now.
We've also added more menu items. I'm gonna create the "Specialties" section next week for what the Wallflower Corner group discussed before opening this RP up, as well as the section that you guys voted for!

September 16, 2009 - It's Marguerite Blakeney's birthday today! Show some love!

September 21, 2009 - Belated date change. It is now the seventh day of the first week of the Wallflower Cafe. Reminder, we change dates every Sunday and Wednesday, as well as close down the cafe those days in order to play some nightlife for those who feel that they want to be OUTSIDE of the cafe and not just inside. Three rules added today: about the anti-Mary Sue/anti-Gary Stu, the limit of starting out with two characters max, and actions/storyline be kept mainly in the Cafe itself.

September 26, 2009 - Week 1 is done, and we're finishing up the beginning of Week 2! The cafe will close at 12AM Pacific Standard Time and during that time we still have Nighttime mode, although nobody really RPs on that. But that's okay. We welcome our two new RPers, Miss. Murder and Mari Monn! Also found out that I didn't put up a rule for literacy here. I fixed that. Also, LARGELY updated the menu. Fans of Skinny Bitch in the Kitch, rejoice!

September 30, 2009 - We're on Week 2, Day 3 already and I've finally updated all character profiles! OMG, we're a month old now, aren't we!?

October 6-7, 2009 - We're on Week 2, Day 4 and crucially we have lengthened all days. Because of this, we are only changing dates ONCE A WEEK from now on!

October 11, 2009 - We're on Week 2, Day 5. No major announcements.

October 22, 2009 - Missed the day change. Because of that, we're STILL on Week 2, Day 5. So I'm gonna let this run for the rest of the week since nobody's been posting either.

October 25, 2009 - Week 2, Day 6

November 2, 2009 - Week 2, Day 7

November 7-8, 2009 - Early date change. It is now Week 3.

Character Profiles, Jobs, and Job Openings
Did you honestly think I was gonna forget about these?
We ARE allowing people multiple characters for as long as they are able to roleplay them!
Priority for jobs are for people who regularly post in the original Wallflower Corner thread. We will be hiring more people as the RP grows, but first we need more people as regular characters. Till then, we only need one extra chef, one extra barista (coffee person), and one extra waitress. Too many of you are applying to be waitresses!
If there is a spot open that none of the regular Wallflower Corner people want, normal Roleplayers may "apply" for them (see application form).
FYI: All employees wear aprons when on duty. Under that, their choice of clothes has to at least be decent (jeans and tshirt is fine; nothing flashy or too revealing).

Personality: Crissy is bubbly and outgoing once she knows who she is around, before that she is quiet and watchful, seeing what everyone does before she reacts and calms down. She can thank her mother for that paranoia.

Clifford was raised to be a gentleman, though when it comes to girls, he isn't very popular. Competitive in academics, his is a formidable mind to be reckoned with. Physical Description: Brown hair usually kept up in a bun with chopsticks. Hair falls to waist when let down. Brown eyes, pale skin (too much time indoors), round face. Stands about five five and is a bit overweight (surrounded by too much delicious food! D: ). Is always found in a button up shirt, nice slacks, and black non-skid shoes (refuses to wear heels). Wears a silver necklace with a small silver fortune cookie charm on it. Doesn't wear makeup, but does wear chapstick that often tints her lip in odd colors like blue or green.
Personality: Weird. Cookie is very weird. She makes many jokes that people just don't get and is often full of bad puns and snarky sarcasm. She is also strict. When surveying dishes in the kitchen she's often heard to say "Would you serve that to your mother?" She will make people redo things she is not satisfied with until she is. She merely wants the guests to have a wonderful experience at the cafe and will do all she can to provide it by hiring the best bakers, baristas and servers. She doesn't take crap or excuses from anybody. She takes some getting used to, but is not necessarily mean, though she can often be grumpy and is not really a morning person. She prefers for people not to talk to her until she's woken up and when not harassing her workers, talking to customers, or sneaking food from the kitchen, she can be found in the office, where she tells you she's looking at porn, though she's really just doing inventory and other boring things.

IF APPLYING FOR A JOB: Being a host is probably the safest job for Yosuke to take at the restaurant without causing any casualties (as in the patrons, his co-workers, and himself) or property damage (which is pretty self-explanatory). He also has prior work experience and knows how to handle customers.

She has shoulder length brown hair, her eyes are brown, but tend to to change slightly depending on what she is wearing. Her face is a little plump, but her nose is slender and brings her face together nicely. Crissy's height is about 5 foot 8 inches, she usually seems taller because she loves wearing high heels.
Personality: Crissy is bubbly and outgoing once she knows who she is around, before that she is quiet and watchful, seeing what everyone does before she reacts and calms down. She can thank her mother for that paranoia.
