Earth, 2012.

To say things are bad would be a severe understatement. The world economy has been reduced to nothing. The world is slowly slipping into chaos, each nation struggling with internal problems.

Riots break out across the United States.

People are murdered in Eastern Europe.

Starvation and disease run rampant in Asia.

Surely, the world is at its end, this chapter of human existance coming to a close.

London, 2024

After the disaster in 2012, each nation has been left to its own resources, unable to help any other nations when they have massive problems of their own. Communications within your own country are extremely limited, and talking to someone in another country is damn near impossible. Cut off from the rest of the world, the nations have been truely tested, to see who the real superpowers are.

From the destruction rose different megalithic corportations- one being the steampunk company SimnaTech. Based in England, on the outside they seem perfectly in control. Inside, however, is a completely different story.

The people are struggling for survival. While SimnaTech tries to mantain the cities and roads, things are obviously crumbling, buildings on the outskirts of major towns deemed unsafed, bright yellow caution tape warning people to stay away. Air quality is terrible, those with breathing problems forced to use special equipment whenever they leave their homes. SimnaTech has developed special breathing aparatus, as well as other things- but if you cannot afford it, you are simply dead.

Small bands of bandits have formed, those who cannot get a steady job forced to scavenge and sometimes steal for their survival. While most of these bands are harmless, rumors of ruthless murders have been circulating, people disappearing from the streets...

Your job now is to survive.

----------

Your story

You live in London, England. The country has reentered the steampunk era, odd gadgets and whatnot on the streets. Only those who are rich can afford the latest and greatest- and the way things are now, the rich are very few.

You are forced to scavenge to survive, and have joined a small band of theives. After all, there is safety in numbers. Your way of life is dangerous, although you are relatively harmless- SimnaTech has built up a police force known as the Vanguard, but everyone on the streets knows them better as the Heartless. The job of the Heartless is to capture the thieves that pester the rich- those who support SimnaTech. No one knows for sure what happens once you are captured- because those who have been captured never come back. Some say that they transform you into a Heartless, others say they simply kill you. No one is for sure.

Not only do you have to dodge the Heartless, but there are also rumors flying about new groups of bandits, ruthless people who would have no problem killing to get what they want....

Accepted Profiles

Bandits: Lein (Strawberry Kitkat), Frankie (Strawberry Kitkat), Ula (Risu), Mag (DarkestHour), Syrine (Siraannabelle)
Rogues: Sim-T (SadsaLove), Hadrian (Strawberry Kitkat)
Everyone Else:

Lein Remus Foxx

Age: 17
Height: 5'4
Hair Color: dirty blonde/light brown
Eye Color: Bright blue
Other:

Occupation: Bandit
Skill: Stealing, hacking
Equipment: her goggles- an outdated version of SimnaTech's all-purpose goggles. They're a little cracked and heavy, but she takes great care of them.
Weapon: She carries a knife, mostly for protection though. She's not much of a fighter.

Biography: Lein was born to be a bandit, simple as that. Her mother was the famous Matilda Foxx, one of the most well-known and best-loved bandit in the business. Lein never knew her father, but that was alright with her; her mother was the only family she needed.

Lein was raised to be a thief, her mother taking her out on little expiditions as soon as she turned 7. Lein did well, although she never had the fame her mother had.

One day, when Lein was 14, her mother decided to go alone. She didn't tell Lein that she was going, stealing away in the middle of the night while her daughter was asleep. When Lein awoke, she was alone, and very afraid. She waited for days, but her mother never returned, and Lein was left to fear the worse.

Lein was miserable, and stopped doing much, sitting in the place she had lived in with her mother for days. She barely ate, barely did anything, just sat with her knees drawn up and her head hung in defeat.

That was how Frankie found her. She had withered away to almost nothing, stuck in the deepest pits of depression. He took her under his wing, and helped her get back on her feet. The two have been best friends ever since, a sibling bond having developed between the two over the years.
Personality: Lein is strong, spirited young girl, with a mind as sharp as her tongue. Witty and charismatic, she uses her natural charm and quick tongue to get herself out of trouble. Lein is a lover, not a fighter, her mother teaching her to be peaceful and never harm another being unless absolutely necessary.

Frankie Jameson

[IMGRIGHT] [/IMGRIGHT]
Age: 19
Height: 5'11"
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Green
Other:

Occupation: Bandit
Skill: Stealing, Brawling. Frankie is the leader of his group.
Equipment: His heavy gloves- Lein got them for him. They assist him in battle.
Weapon: Frankie doesn't use weapons- he believes that if he can't protect his own body, then its not worth it.

Biography: Frankie doesn't know much about his birth parents, having grown up an orphan. A tough, smart young lad, he was recruited by a group of bandits after he tried to steal from them. They took a liking to the spunky kid, even though he was kind of a brat.

Frankie grew up with the love and support of his new family, a tight-knit group of all ages. He was basically the "little brother."

One day on a scouting mission, he stumbled across a girl sitting alone in a deteriorating building. She was such a sad, pitiful sight that he took pity on her and brought her back with him, begging for them to let her join them. They took the young girl in, and it wasn't until later that Frankie found out it was because of who she was more then anything.

The two became fast friends, one hardly ever seen without the other.

Frankie quickly rose through the ranks, and when the leader disappered- captured by the heartless, no doubt about it- Frankie was elected the new leader. That was a year ago; while Frankie doesn't want to position, he does his best to try and make sure everyone makes it through.
Personality: Frankie is more down to earth then his counterpart Lein, quieter and more methodical. He knows how to keep a cool head in any situation, and rarely ever gets angry- but when he does, you better watch out. He doesn't let anyone mess with those under his care, especially Lein. he has gone from Little Brother to Big Brother over the years.

Age:21

Hair Color:White
Eye Color: Brown
Other:
Occupation: Bandit
Skill: Stealing and distractions
Equipment: She has an arm cuff that hidden within are all her lock picking tools. Only those who know how to work it can tell what it is.
Weapon: An old dagger she found one day. She decided the engravings on the blade were pretty, plus it fits nicely into her boot.
Biography: What is there to say really. She was a happy child before the collapse. Adventurous and curious. Now things have changed and she has grown up with it. Her parents have both passed away due to the air pollution and her own lungs are damaged. She fights now to survive and to keep going. She wants to see the dawn again.
Personality: Normally very stoic and quiet, underneath it all there is a happier more child like side. She tends to just follow along with those around her. When a distraction is needed though, then she can shine and a completely different person appears.

Skill: Building Infiltration
Equipment: Two pouches she has attached to her belt, one is full of small rocks, and the other is filled with small pieces of metal. She uses them as ammo for her sling.
Weapon: She uses a sling, and has pretty good aim.

Biography: Sim-T doesn't remember a time before the disaster, and has grown up with this way of life. She lived with her parents until she was ten, when the Heartless found their most recent hideout. Her parents gave her to one of the other members of their band, then started to annoy the Vanguard, throwing rocks and taunting them so the band could get away.

However, the other member soon ditched her, finding that taking care of a kid was harder when her parents weren't there. From then, Sim-T spent the nights in whatever house she could break into, and spent the days hunting for food. Finally, when she was 13, she found a band of Rogue's that would take her in. When she joined, they gave her the option to change her name, and she chose Sim-T, to remind her of who caused these disasters.
Personality: She is usually bitter and angry, but is fiercely loyal to anyone that acts as a parental figure. If you can actually get her to talk to you, she warms up, becoming slightly less bitter, and more like a little girl. Her temper takes a while to build up, but once it has, she explodes, usually screaming at whoever caused it.

Height: 5'7
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Other:

Occupation: Rogue
Skill: Stealing, hacking
Equipment: a hacking bug he stole from a shipment going to SimnaTech
Weapon: He carries two throwing knives on his person at all times.

Biography: Hadrian has always been the odd boy. At a young age, he ran away from home, deciding he wanted to be a bandit. He got frustrated easily with the system, and made it a habit to taunt Heartless when he could. He was constantly scolded throughout his life, and eventually he just stopped listening to people.

One day, while out scouting, he accidentally killed someone. And that was when it dawned on him that that was so much easier. The people of his old group abandoned him- they didn't agree with him, saying that killing was just going to bring the Heartless down on him even harder.

Hadrian really didn't care- he didn't kill everyone he stole from, but he wasn't against resorting to it if he needed to. Eventually, he found another group to be a part of, and he's perfectly happy with his way of life.
Personality: If you're on his side, Hadrian is pleasant enough, if not a tad odd. He likes to make off-hand comments and can be a jerk. If your not on his side, well, lets just say he's not above killing you if he feels the need to. He's a little unstable, but so far he's been alright...

((Sim-T can has friend? :eager:))

Sim-T sighed, kicking at the ground. "Stupid, stupid, stupid," she muttered, her hands deep in her pockets. She sighed, knowing today was going to be one of her brooding days. Whenever she had that dream, it always is. "To top it all off, my slingshot broke! Took at least an hour of following the other members around till I got more rubber," she whispered frustratingly.

She glanced up when she heard something, relaxing when she spotted the rat. She crouched, and slowly brought out said slingshot, trying not to startle the animal. She pulled out a sharp rock, positioning it just right on the sling. Sim-T lined up the shot, letting the rock go at just the right time. "Yes!" she said quietly, jogging up to the dying animal. She held her kill in one hand, jogging back to camp to give to the cook.

((Like it, hate it? Was I right when I guessed there's still rats?))

[[it's perfectly fine  and I'll get another Rogue made shortly >.>]]

"Dammit," Lein grumbled, hunkered over a new project. She had her goggles down over her eyes, the crack visible in the right lens. She picked up a wrench and attacked the contraption before her, sticking her tongue out as she worked. She almost looked comical, squating over the thing she was working on.

"Hey, Lein," someone called, causing her to jump. she hit her head on the peice of sheet metal that was hanging over her work station; cursing, she moved to the place where she could stand up, scowling at whoever interrupted her. There was a pause, and then her face lit up.

"Frankie," she said, pushing her goggles up with one hand as she climbed out of her makeshift work station. It was really nothing more then a box, the sides made out of odd ends and pieces. "What's up?"

Frankie grinned and ruffled her hair, which he knew annoyed her. "Not much. I was just about to go out. You wanna come with me?"

"Well duh," she said, rolling her eyes at him. He rolled his back, then laughed as the two began walking. "So what do we need to get today?"

"Not sure yet," Frankie said with a shrug. "I know we need some food, and Maddie needs more medical supplies, but other then that I think we're pretty good." Lein nodded, cracking her fingers.

"Let's go then!" She took his hand and led him along, Frankie grinning and shaking his head as he followed.

Mag walked along the path of crumbled dirt.'Finally I lost those dirt bags.'Mag muttered under her breath as she walked down the path.Soon the path lead to a alley way,she was unsure of who she would meet out here.Mag didn't really seem to care but it would be worth a shot.Mag turned the corner leading into the street where she saw people walking and running.Mag shruged and walked with her katana slung around her hip making her look very intimidating.Mag had a half smile as she walked along the street. The female started to wonder where the police where, she didn't think just taking some food would hurt.I mean, after all she was dying of hunger.First thing was first,Mag needed to find somewhere to sleep tonight.Mag stared out into the distance and saw a broken down building and grinned. It would be perfect to sleep in.Mag kept a steady pase as she walked onward towards the broken down building.

"Cough! Cough!" Syrine pulled herself out from under the engine of a '17 Swag. "Damn it! Didn't I remember to get the Clercs out of this thing first?" she grumbled, pulling out a pan, and going back under to unscrew the cap. A blue oil-like substance filtered out into the container. She pulled herself back out, and grabbed an old rag to wipe off her hands. The mirror in the garage showed that once again she was left with a blue/black streak across her cheek. Syrine sighed. She opened the large door to let the air through, and leaned against the side. A shiver ran down her spine. "What I would give to work on a classic car. Maybe a 2010 To-yo-ta? Man, back when they used gasoline, and diesel, and oil. Damn, that would be a dream..." She sighed to herself.

Ula skittered around a corner and plastered herself against the wall. She was breathing hard and heavy and her arms were tightly gripping a bag with a few cans of food and odd pieces of tech. After a little while she peered around the corner, checking to make sure everything was clear. With a sigh of relief she sunk to the ground and placed her head on the bag. Her breathing was ragged and she could feel her lungs burning.

"Come on, can't stay here. Otherwise someone else might take your hard won prizes love. Up, up." Ula got up from the ground and started moving again.

Mag slightly turned her head as she saw somebody running.'Now why would she be running?..Mag thought to herself but paid no mind to it.She kept walking and opened another poutch where she had put some grapes.Mag put one in her mouth and kept walking. For right now that little bit of food would have to put her hunger at bay as she walked.

Hadrian was sitting alone at the headquarters, doing nothing in particular. He figured it would be a good idea to go scouting or something, but at the moment he really didn't care. He didn't need anything, so it wasn't his concern.

He leaned back in the chair, propping his feet up on the dusty old wooden table. He had a hat tilted down over his face; it wasn't too low down, so he could still see out the window. The glass had been knocked out ages ago- whether it was an accident or on purpose was a mystery to him.

"Piece of shit city," he commented idly, to no one in particular. As far as he knew, he was alone in the building, as he often was. Didn't stop him from making his odd little comments. "One day, you're going to burn."

He leaned forward as he saw a familiar figure walking down the street, towards the headquarters. It was that kid, what was her name... Sim-T, or something like that. He was pretty sure that was what it was. Nice enough kid, if you didn't mind the occasional temper tantrum/pms-ing. He leaned back, deciding to let her approach him. If she wanted to talk, then fine. If not, well, it wasn't a bother to Hadrian either way.

[[Dude. This guy is such a douche. I love him ]]

Syrine turned away from the door. It was well known that her garage was a safe haven for Bandits, so she usually had a door open incase someone needed to hide. She returned to the useless 2017 Swag, and replaced the Clercs, as well as some electrical bits. Syrine tried to start it up, and failed. She sighed. "There is no way this thing is going to run again... useless crappy piece of machinery." she kicked a wheel, before pressing a big yellow button on the wall. It caused the lift to drop from under the car, and opened up a pit underneath. There were piles of scrap vehicles down there. Most pushed their from when they tried to clean up the city a bit after the disaster.

This had to be someone's idea of a joke didn't it? Ula hoped they were having fun then. She had been casually strolling around a corner a random corner when she had walked right back into the midst of the people's whose food she had snatched. It wasn't like they hadn't been stockpiling and could spare it or anything, but you'd think it has their final bit of rations. Not a few pieces from a huge pile. She was just thankful she had at least gotten a chance to spot her lungs from burning. Her eyes darted around the street she was in, looking for hiding places or stuff to use to block their path. Instead she found an open door.

“It'll have to be good enough." She whispered to herself before diving through it and shutting the door behind her. Ula placed her forehead against it and listened for them to pass. Her breath coming to her in ragged gulps.

A realization hit her and she turned around slowly to look at just where it was she had taken sanctuary in. She then looked up towards the ceiling.

"Really, flipping funny." Ula stated, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Syrine looked over. "Oh, hello." She smiled. It was times like these she really wished bandits had a secret handshake or something. She wasn't sure if the girl was a bandit, a rogue, or something else entirely. Wiping her hands on a rag, she took a few steps forward. "I'm Syrine, how can I help you?" She leaned against another one of the many cars in the garage.

"Uhhh, Ula." She shifted nervously and tried to hide the bag as best she could behind herself. "Umm, uhh, well," She struggled to try and come up with something to tell Syrine. She was failing pretty horribly.

"It was raining and I needed to get out of the wet?" Yeah that was lame. It wasn't even raining out. "It, umm looked like it was going to rain anyway. Over cast. Dark. Well I guess I made a mistake oh silly me. Guess I should go then. Sorry to disturb your, well I'm not really sure what it is you're doing, but sorry?" Ula started making wild hand gestures as she spoke, panicking slightly.

Syrine smiled warmly. "Ok, I'm praying I'm right. Are you a bandit as well?" She bit her lip hoping she was right. She tossed the wrench in her overalls pocket onto her tool box, making sure she had no tools on her, she didn't want the girl thinking she's attack her with a screwdriver.

Ula sort of paused and gave her a bit of an odd look.

"How do I know you're not some sort of police force that will arrest me if I was to say yes? I mean, metaphorically speaking if I was to say yes what would you do about it?" She wasn't quite sure how to handle the new turn of events. She could just yes, but after the last few events she had just gone through, Ula wasn't sure that was the greatest ide.

Syrine winked. "If you said yes, I'd welcome you to my garage and offer you a drink." Syrine turned and started getting the next car ready to be looked over. "And hey, for all I know you're Hear-Vanguard." She caught herself before Heartless completely slipped out of her lips. "Look I don't care. Stay, go, doesn't make a difference to me. I just keep fixing things."

Mag soon reached the building and opened the door.'Hello!'Mag shouted as she took this step by step.Broken glass crunched beneath her boots as she walked. This use to be a hotel.A very...crappy one at that.Mag shruged and leaped on pieces of broken walls and so forth. No one would think of looking here.Mag reached the very first floor by climbing over rubble and chaos on the way.Mag smirked.'Perfect!'Mag said as she sat down on a windows ledge and watched the people go about there buisness.

Ula thought about it a little bit before replying.

"Well, yes. I guess that Bandit is term that could be used in conjunction with me. Now, about that drink?" She asked, s small, tentative smile spreading across her face. "What is there to fix by the way? I thought all that stuff pretty much went kaput?" She peered around the room, stepping a bit further in and away from the door.

"Any reason why you fix this stuff up anyway? Is it good money or something?"

"Hey Frankie, we should see if we can find more bolts today," Lein said, watching the crowd pass by with curiousity. She was always interested in how other people were living, although she was sure 2 out of every 5 people they passed were bandits just like them.

"Didn't Fritz just bring you a whole bag the other day," Frankie asked, amused. Lein rolled her eyes, pouting.

"Yeah, but only about a fourth of that bag was bolts. He got me a whole bunch of nails. What am I supposed to do with nails? I gave them to Maddie so that she can fix her door." Frankie listened to the girl ramble on, keeping a careful eye on the streets and people around them. Unlike Lein, he wasn't too concerned with the lives of the people outside of his troupe. He was looking out for Vanguards.

"So, anyways, when Terra-"

"Crap, Lein," Frankie hissed, looking up the street. Lein stopped talking, her cyan eyes opening wider, fear flashing across her features. There were a pair of Heartless right up the street, harassing a young boy.

"Frankie," she breathed, gripping his hand. The little boy began to scream and kick, one of the Heartless lifting him off his feet. "I don't want to watch!"

"In here," he said, pulling her into a building. He shut the door quietly behind them, keeping a comforting grip on the younger girl's hand. She looked up at him with a troubled expression, his grief mirrored on her face- that little boy wouldn't be coming back.

"Where are we," she asked, looking around. They seemed to be in some sort of hotel, having entered through the maintenance room.

"Hey, wait," Frankie hissed, as she let go of his hand and went to examine one of the ancient boilers.

"Look at this, Frankie! I wonder how it works."

"Lein, don't touch that, you're going to get us in trouble!"

[[Hurrrm. We came to say hi Darkest ^.^]]

Syrine laughed. "I have fresh water, and contraband soda-pop from 3 countries over." she winked, in a hush-hush voice. "Yeah most of these babies are pretty much dead, but it's one of the few things I'm good at. I like working with mechanics." She shrugged and grabbed herself a soda. "I've gotten a few things to work, it's tricky finding the right vehicles that can be altered to work with modern supplies..."

"I wouldn't have thought it would be that hard.I mean the outer edges are littered with usless cars." She grabbed her some water with a happy grin on her face before finding a little perch to plop down onto and watch Syrine work.

"Though I guess getting them from there to here would be the harder part wouldn't it? Even going on foot is tough in some places. Not to mention, the people still living out there. A few areas are just, scary." A small shudder ran down her spine and she took a sip of the water, happy to feel the cool, refreshing sensation slide down her throat.

She shrugged. "It's not that bad. Keep a couple wrenches in your pockets, a hammer or two, and you're fine. See not all vehicles can be converted. I've found the older the model the easier to tinker. Anything 2007 and newer, is pretty much useless." She scratched the back of her neck, and moved a light to the open hood of an awaiting car. "I get a bunch of tough bandit guys to do all my hauling for me, and in return I see what I can do about making them get-away cars. This last one they brought me, useless." She slammed the hood down. "It's a 2010 and it's pitiful."

"I guess it makes sense? The newer cars had all that fancy junk in them right? GPS, 6 CD changer and what not. Won't those guys be mad though. That you know, can't make them a get away vehicle with this one? Aren't you worried about what they might do in turn?" She asked, curious. Ula had now stretched out, her head propped up on her hands. She had a tool in her hand and was examining it, trying to figure out just what you were supposed to do with the thing. Her bag of items was next to her where she could quickly grab it again.

"What happens then? Do you have protection or something from disgruntled customers?'

"Yeah, the change from oil to Clercs, and from gasoline or diesel to hydro/electric doesn't really help much. This is the fourth car they've brought me. I keep saying old models, but they want the flashier newer ones." Syrine rolled her eyes, and leaned against the work bench, sipping her drink. "They don't get mad at me. I'm the only one who can fix their vehicles, and also, I'm the only person these guys know that can stop the Simna-tech camera's long enough for them to do some damage. I'm an amateur hacker, you might say. What about you? Whats your place in the great Bandit society?"
