Liesel completely ignored Maxwell's mimicry, he was so clueless about her passion. When she heard him come out and lay his suitcase down in the back with the gentlest care. She vaguely wondered if he was doing it just to try to be the exact opposite of her but then she discerned that he more likely did it to prevent the clothes inside from shifting and ruining his perfect pack job.

When everyone was in the car, they finally got underway. It started off alright with mother yacking about the school. That was easy enough for Liesel to tone out, but when the annoying chattering turned into wracking sobs, her heart started to wrench a bit. But only a bit. As seconds turned into minutes, the youngest twin started to clench her teeth in annoyance. When their father finally turned on the radio it was a godsend.

Liesel rested her head against the window and closed her eyes but only for a moment until she felt Maxwell moving around. Opening her eyes she watched him untie his shoes. She knew what was coming next but didn't do anything to prevent it. She waited for Maxwell to make himself comfortable before resting her hand on his shoulder. The weight of his head in her lap felt warm and comforting.

When he whispered to her she merely smiled when he whispered to her so low she could barely here. Even so she seemed to make out the words without any difficulty and whispered back in the same manner, "You know, I've been thinking... If you died, what would happen to me? Are you even sure you can die?" The questions probably sounded rather stupid but they were interesting concepts in her mind. It wasn't like they could test them after all...
