Hiei smirked at the green clad spirit detective's reaction to the fox's sudden appearance.
Kurama looked up at Hiei with a grin. "I have to let Mother know I'm home. Would you tell Yusuke and Botan I'll be up in just a minute?" He asked politely.
Hiei said nothing, but darted in through the open window once the other two had cleared it. He claimed a spot on the window sill and halfheartedly glared at Yusuke. "Could you possibly make any more noise, Detective?" He hissed in his deep voice. "Kurama's mother has the washer running and can't quite hear you." It was true, he had checked her location in the house before he settled in the tree and she was loading clothes in the washing machine on the other side of the house. The washer was now running which had served to muffle Yusuke's less than graceful entry into the house.
Kurama entered through the front door and toed off his shoes before going to find his mother. "I'm home Mother." He said with a soft smile. "Oh, Shuuichi, I'm so sorry. I've been so busy today I forgot to prepare you a snack." Shiori frowned and started to head for the kitchen. "No need, Mother. I'm really not hungry and I have a lot of homework to do. If I get started right away I should be done by supper." He smiled again and kissed her cheek. "Relax for a little while, Mother. You shouldn't push yourself so hard."
