So you've found yourself in the forest of Uumea? As those who dare to dwell within it's depths will tell you, it's a magical and beautiful place with hidden wonders unknown to the rest of the world. It is not without danger and not without evil dwellers. Many are born in Uumea, but many travel here for it's healing herbs and springs, to capture mythical beings, or by accident. Whatever the case, it is said that none who step foot inside Uumea ever leave. Some say that they stay willingly, unable to leave the magical wonders within. Others say the forest beings will kill all who enter it's depths. Your adventure begins...

The forest is a magical place. It has abundant amounts of tall trees that block out the sun in many places as well as small meadows filled with lush green grass and flowers. There are deep caves, dangerous cliffs, waterfalls, healing springs, a wide variety of vibrantly colored plants and flowers, as well as mushrooms that can be taller than a person. Fairies, elves, witches, demons, wolves, ogres, and anything else you can imagine up, live inside the forest. You can find homes in caverns, inside tree trunks, built as tree houses in the trees and even floating on water. I'm just trying to kick start your imagination here... In Uumea, absolutely anything can be inside and anything you can imagine can happen!

Rules
1. Follow Menewsha rules and TOS.

The sun was setting over the forest but the temperature was warm, at least 80 degrees still. A light breeze swept through meadows and various places that it could, causing Caoimhe's long almost white hair to flit about. She lay on her stomach on a large branch overlooking her favorite man eating fly trap. Her arm dangled allowing her fingers to stroke the plant lovingly as it seemed to purr.

She exhaled. She was bored. Lazily she swung down from the branch and landed on bare feet. She adjusted her small top made from cotton and hemp and matching skirt bottom and headed towards the nearby stream. As she walked she picked small flowers, vibrant in color, blues, reds, purples, oranges and greens and wove them into a headband, then a bracelet, then a necklace. She made quick and easy work of it and smiled at the outcome of the accessories.

Her ears twitched and her eyes moved to the left. There was someone in the forest, very nearby. The presence felt different, not a being from around here, at least not this part of the forest. She ducked behind a large plant and waited. She smiled mischievously.

The forest was active with sounds tonight, Ryugamine moved though the trees with silent ease. He smiled, running his fingertips along the trunks of a few of the trees. He listened to the sounds of the forest, and how it eas active this evening. He moved to one of the plants, looking it over. He knew better then to rush into anything around here, the forest could be a dangerous place to those who did not know how to respect it. He was on his way home from gathering herbs and other things from around the forest. He wondered how many of the others in the forest were out and about, he would enjoy a bit of company. He reached a hand up to fix his glasses, before moving on his way. He hummed lightly to himself, careful still to stay alert to what was going on around him within the forest. He was having a good day so far, he was hoping that nothing would come along and ruin it. He herd the sounds of a large flytrap nearby and smiled, moving over and pausing to lean against a tree. He looked around a bit, sensing the prescence of another being. "Good evening whoever you are" he spoke slowly and calmly, not missing a beat.

Name: Thain Keperti
Thain Keperti was a man of few interests. He enjoyed long walks, even reading the occasional book. Not to mention the thrill of taking down an animal. But one thing Thain really hated, others. People, they always seemed to be his undoing. His last home was burned to the ground, and the one before that was also burned to the ground. He move out into the middle of the forest. Although you may be asking yourself why such a man became hated so? It was simple really. Thain was a damphyr. A vampire human hybrid. Some would argue we was stronger than a normal vampire. Although maybe from bother side would just choose to kill him. Which was why he instead choose to be alone.

Thain was a tall well muscled man. He was strong enough to defend himself, but not overly so. Enough to caught the eye in fact. His skin was not so pale either. It held color, much like a humans. He tanned, blushed, and got purple when he could not breath. Much like any normal human. His skin was a very sun-kissed oak color. Making him seem more human than vampire. Two easy give a ways were his eyes. The were primarily a deep burgundy. They would appear to change also from the red to an orange. But that simply was the light. Yes, he could go out in the light. His hair was a navy-black color and grown out on the longer side. When let loose his hair would fall to his shoulders, but normally he kept the back half tied back.

Recently he moved into a small house. One that was by the river. Although it look him weeks to build the place, every board laid was by his own doing. For Thain, his home was large. Three rooms on the bottom floor. A sitting room, kitchen, and dining room. The upstairs was his room. It was a charming place in fact. And one where he may have his safety. That honestly was up there on Thain's wishes. He did not hunt for blood. In fact, it was not needed for his survival. Well, okay. That's a lie. He just refused to hunt. But in truth when he didn't have the rich red life force flowing down his throat, he got sick.

Thain sat by the river. Laying on the bank as he soaked in the sun. His home just behind him on the hill. Safe away from any floods the river may have brought. By his side was a sword. One so large it appeared to at least weight more than he. His eyes were closed as he just relaxed to the sounds of the forest. Finally at peace.

((Kiyo, I'm going to wait to respond so that you can edit! ))

Blonde hair bounced and bobbed as Elizabeth Arthur ran. She was breathing hard and had a look on her face like she'd just seen a ghost. She was clearly running from someone or something. She held up her ankle length gown that was tattered and dirtied at the bottom, to keep herself from falling. Bare feet crunched over leaves and twigs and she glanced over her shoulder. No one appeared to be following her.

Up ahead was a large tree. She ducked behind it flattening her back against the rough bark. She was breathing heavily still, having ran for at least a mile as fast as she could. She let go of the tattered gown and reached one hand up to her forehead and the other to her pounding heart. Who had those people been? And why were they planning to destroy the forest and all within?

She didn't care, she just wanted to get as far away from them as possible. She was lucky to have gotten away with her life and she wanted out of this forest and back to her village, which was in... one of these... directions. Hazel green eyes looked around, still flattened against the tree. She wasn't going to make it out of this place was she?

In the day she'd been here she'd almost been eaten by a ravenous wolf, fallen to her doom over jagged rocks, crushed by an ogre, and then to top it off, captured by the very person who's voice had lured her, among others, into the forest. She'd been the only lucky one to escape. But not before they tried to curse her, or put a spell on her or something. What they did, she didn't care, they'd clearly been unsuccessful, she wasn't a toad or anything, and they'd also been too busy to chase after her. Would they come for her yet?

She closed her eyes and tilted her head back against the tree. Her breathing was finally calming. She needed a plan and she needed to think up one quick if she planned on surviving the night in these woods.

~*~**~*~

His back hurt. His arms hurt. His everything hurt. His tongue darted out, longer, thicker, and stickier than a normal human's. It brushed lightly over where his right incisor had once glinted in the sunlight. Now it was gone, somewhere down on the ground, sitting in a puddle of sticky black blood. But it was hard to tell which one. There was so much under the old obelisk he had forgotten where his tooth had gone. Blue eyes groggily watched the ground as he hung there, hands bound above his head in iron cuffs, burning his skin even now, after about...two days of hanging here? He couldn't really remember when he had been hung here. Or why he had been hung here. He vaguely remembered yells of 'heretic' before he had been bound in iron chains, beaten, and hung by his wrists to die by his own people.

That would take a while in itself. His wound had already closed, not deep enough or severe enough to be of an real danger. The only true loss was his wings and the thought of their once beautiful, icy blue surface brought tears to his eyes. They were gone. Horus would never fly again. He let out a long, saddened moan as he hung there, fighting back the tears about his loss and his predicament.

It was the sound of crashing that finally caused his to lift his head, ears twitching lightly as he turned his head. Someone was running through the woods nearby. Someone obviously in a hurry. And they had stopped nearby so maybe....he thought for a moment and, despite his better judgement (it could be an ogre for Zephyr's sake!), he opened his mouth. "Hey! Is...is someone out there?" he called out, hoping to catch the attention of whomever, or whatever, was crashing through the woods like the entire forest itself was gunning for their throat.

Character name: Iliaya
Description: A faery stripped of his magick, unable to produce faery dust and pursued by shadow servants of the one that took his magicks. Wears a thin sari and has long light brown hair, his eyes are a lime green color.

Iliaya raced through the forest, his heart pounded, his long sari fluttered about him as he moved. Was he safe yet? His delicate wings, practically useless without faery dust, were in a restful position against his back. They could carry him short distances, but without the faery dust his body was just simply to heavy for the delicate things to carry him far. No dust and no magick. Aya couldn't help but feel useless, weak and very frightened. He had been so strong before, his skill of magick practiced and perfected. He wasn't much of a warrior, but he could be a very formidable battle mage, and even sometimes he had taken the role of a mystical healer. His talents in magick were diverse and he excelled at them through years of training and practice.

He had grown too strong. He had been perceived as a threat. It was the only excuse, the only reasoning he could come up with that made sense. That had to be why his powers had been taken from him, and why shadow beasts pursued him. Intent on killing him before he could find away to regain his magick. Iliaya ran, not daring to look over his shoulder for signs of pursuit. He might not be able to tell anyway, all the shadows looked as if they were moving as he raced through the forest. An unfamiliar forest, one he had never entered before. He couldn't even reach out with his mind, to ask the flora and fauna for which paths he should take. Truly Aya had been lost as soon as he set a delicate barefoot in this place.

Soon a river came into view, and without hesitating, Iliaya jumped it, his wings unfolding from his back and shimmering some as they moved. Pumping and flapping to carry him across the watery border. Aya hadn't seen the half-vampire laying on the other side and the faery very nearly landed on him. Aya shifted almost at the last moment, his wings fluttering almost frantically for a moment to carry him harmlessly passed the half-vampire. When his feet touched the ground, Iliaya stumbled a few steps and turned, his wings already going back to a restful position. Lime green eyes stared at the other watching warily for any sign of hostile movement. Heart still beating frantically. Was he an agent of the Shadow Master?

Hazel green eyes flew open at the sound of the voice and her heart skipped a beat. She took a deep breath. It didn't sound like someone evil, no, just the opposite. This person was calling out and the voice seemed pained. She honestly wasn't surprised, not after what she'd been through in a day while in Uumea.

She pushed off the tree and looked in the direction of the voice. What if it was a trap? Warily and as sneakily as an untrained human of her nature could be, she walked in his direction, eyes darting side to side to be sure she wasn't going to be ambushed by those awful beings that had already fooled her once. She breathed quietly and stepped lightly. She held the bottom of her tattered dress off the ground with one hand and moved branches and leaves from her path with the other.

Finally she opened her mouth to call out a response, but nothing came out. Only air. She tried again. Nothing. Elizabeth's heart raced and she reached up to her throat. She tried again. Nothing. She tried to scream, only air. It was like an awful nightmare. She was beginning to hyperventilate. What had they done to her? That spell, or that curse, whatever it had been that the woman recited as Elizabeth ran away... it had taken her speech. They had ensured that although she had escaped for the time being, she would tell no one of what she knew.

She was taking sharp and quick breaths. She needed to calm herself down. If she continued on like this she would pass out, and who knew what would happen to her then. Besides, she was fairly certain someone needed her help. She took a deep breath and continued forward, trying to speak as she went, but making no sounds. As she rounded a tree, she saw him there. A man with dark hair and pointy ears. Blood pooled below him and she gasped, one hand over her mouth. Are you ok... Damn, she couldn't speak.

Quickly she moved around the blood and climbed onto a rock that sat a foot or two away from him. She leaned over, catching herself from falling by his chains. She tugged at them but it was no use. Iron chains would need far more than her to release this man. She gave him a helpless look and shook her head. She didn't know what to do...

In one of the darker parts of the forest, a young elf naps on a branch of a tall pine tree. An expression of pain is shown on his face as flashes of fire, blood, and a black dragon flash through his mind. He awakens with a jolt nearly falling out of the tree. Oh, shi- he exclaimed as he caught himself. Once regained his balance the young man took a deep calming breath. It has been only two years since Saito lost everything. He is the last of a noble family who was massacred by a rival family.

It was a night that he chose to train himself out in the woods near his home. In the dead of the night an orange glow that resonated in the direction of his home caught his eye. Fearing for his family, he rushed home only to find his home in ruins. He tried to locate his family but every body he came across were beyond recognition. Loosing hope, he fled. Suddenly a large black dragon swooped down, grabbed him, and flung him into the woods. He awoke far from his home and badly injured. He found a village and an old lady nursed him back to health. Saito then decided he was going to find who killed his family and avenge them.

Saito leaned against the tree and tried to regain his senses. The nightmares are plaguing me more and more these days. He runs his hands through his hair, gripping it, and slams his head against the tree trunk. Dammit! The overwhelming feeling of resentment and guilt flowed through every inch of him. He took another deep breath and jumped down from the tree. I guess it time to move on. He made sure his hilt was tightly secured and started to walk through the dense forest.

((Hey sorry but I'm going to have to call it a night. fussy baby that needs to go to sleep and work in the AM. I'll be on about early evening tomorrow))

Light fox ears perked forward as the female heard something moving below her on the forest floor, most would not be able to hear what she could after all she had ears like a fennec fox. They twitched around as her knee length hair hanged down towards the forest floor, her light blue yes scanned the area before she spotted a rabbit heading towards the river. A sly smile slid onto the fox demon's face before she moved to catch it for dinner.
Upon seeing the damphyr, she froze, staring at him as he moved about she watched him, drinking in every detail, not even phased as he dinner scampered off. A few minutes passed by before she dropped to the forest floor softly, creeping towards him just as silently on bare feet, stopping when she was close enough to him. A few more minutes passed by before she moved even closer to him.
Moving about and acting like any curious, wild animal would when something new was presented to them. She peeked at him from behind a bush. Laila's tail swished back and forth as she continued to watch the male, unsure of what to do or say or if she should make her self present to him. The next moment a light brown haired fairy had came flying across the river like it was trying to either run away from something or start attacking, it was all rather confusing to her as she gave a slight yelp at his sudden appearance, ducking down even more as she watched the two males, pressing her hands to her stomach as if that would stop it from growling.

Horus heard no response at first, his ears drooping in obvious defeat. Well, whatever it was wasn't an ogre. It would have come immediately to the smell of fae blood (no matter how dark) and would have definitely investigated the sound of something in pain. He sighed, dropping his head. Until he heard rustling. He jerked up, blinking as something moved toward him.

Whatever this was, it wasn't an ogre. It didn't make enough noise. When it came into view, he realized why; she was human. Small and delicate, dressed in a lovely, if mundane, dress. He blinked at her for a moment, watching her cautiously as she moved closer, a look of concern on her face. When she climbed the rock next to him and pulled on his chains, the young fae hissed, the iron rubbing against more of his exposed and battered skin, leaving light red marks as the accursed metal burnt him. He sighed lightly as she shook herhead in defeat, and he looked away. He perked up again, eyes landing on one of the many obelisk-like stones in the small clearing. One of them had the key hanging from a bronze hook. He didn't know why. He supposed it was there to taunt him, freedom just out of his reach. He lifted his leg, pointing to the stone with an unnaturally long toe. "I...I think that's the key over there," he said, voice a tad harsh and scratchy from the lack of water. His yelling earlier hadn't helped much at all.

For a moment Elizabeth just stared down at the leg... She'd heard that the forest was home to many mythical creatures. But the only creatures she'd ever heard stories about were ogres, pixies, witches, unicorns... She blinked herself out of it. Right, the key. She was still hanging onto the chains. She couldn't push off of them to regain her balance on the rock, she was sort of stuck there. She hadn't really thought this through at all.

She tried leaning back, in the sense that she only succeeded in moving a fraction of an inch and then she lost her balance. Instinctively she put a hand out and pushed off of the man. It was a light push, but she didn't think any sort of push would feel great in his position. She was standing straight up on the rock again, both hands over her mouth and apologetic eyes staring at him. Oops.

Elizabeth hopped down off of the rock and hurried towards the small clearing. She grabbed the key and quickly headed back to the fae. She had one foot on the rock when she realized; she knew nothing of this man. She looked him over. For all she knew he was some kind of demon and had this coming. She was frowning up at him as chastising him with her mind.

No, thinking better of it, what kind of person wouldn't just out right kill an evil demon, thing. And then to hang the key where he could see it. That was cruel. Cruel beings did this to a hopefully kind, thing. She stepped up onto the rock and grabbed onto the chains shoving the key inside of one of the locks. She hoped she was doing the right thing and he didn't devour her soul or something, especially after she'd helped him out. As the lock clicked open, she said a silent prayer. Please don't let my soul be devoured...

Horus let out a pained hiss as she pushed off him to regain her balance, tears welling up in his eyes as the still tender stumps that were once his wings slammed painfully into the rock. He bit his lip to keep himself from crying out, the jagged teeth surprisingly not breaking the skin. He couldn't stop the tears though and he mentally cursed himself for the sign of weakness. When the woman scuttled off toward the key, however, he immediately ignored his pain, a hopeful smile appearing on his face.

But it vanished when she returned, the look in her eyes chastising. They reminded him of his village's elder; cold and glaring, scolding him for crimes he didn't know he had committed. His smile returned though when she did release him, unlocking the iron chains with a small turn of a bronze key. And he fell, bumping along the obelisk as gravity claimed him. And he groaned on the ground, laying face first in blood drenched grass, the stumps on his back twitching and wiggling in their pain. He finally sat up, rubbing his burnt wrists. The burns were not as bad as he expected. He could still move his fingers after all.

Finally, after about a minute of sitting in wonder of the fact that his hands were still functioning normally, he turned, face split by a large, sharp-toothed grin. "Oh, thank you!" he practically yelled, elation filling his voice where despair had once squatted. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He hopped to his feet, facing her with an ecstatic and thankful grin.

Caoimhe watched as the man with glasses walked passed her to lean on a tree. He had something right in front of his eyes. Little oval-like clear pieces of something. He didn't look like he was from around here. When he spoke, knowing someone was here, she ducked farther behind the leaves. What and intriguing creature. Human she presumed.

She hadn't seen many of those, and the ones that she did never survived the story, or her clan long enough to matter. They were such weak creatures. Caoimhe's attitude switched from curious to mischievous in an instant. She smiled again. Without warning and with inhuman speed, she jumped out of her hiding place to stand in front of the man. She was still smiling mischievously and standing in his personal space.

Caoimhe reached up and grabbed the man's glasses from his face, holding them up to her own and blinking through them. They made her vision fuzzy. Why would anyone want to wear these? She must have been using them wrong. Whelp. She smiled at him mischievously once more, and then turned on her heel and took off. She was running on the ground but soon took to the trees, assuming he wouldn't be able to follow her and take back his treasure.

~~~*~~~*~~~
As the fae fell to the ground, Elizabeth flailed her arms with nothing to hold onto or push off of. Finally and miraculously she caught her balance on the rock. She exhaled a sigh of relief not wanting to have fallen into the creature on the ground, or his mess of blood. She slowly maneuvered herself off the rock thinking it might be best to just get out of here before the thing decided it was hungry or something.
She glanced over at him now, absentmindedly noticing the stumps on his back. She was going to sneak off in the opposite direction when he stood up and yelled thank you. She jumped at the sudden movement and then found herself staring into a set of razor sharp teeth. So there was no doubt that he was a meat eater. She gave her best, 'no problem' smiled and tried to wave him off with an 'I'm late, places to be' kind of wave. She was almost certain he meant no harm. Not after she'd helped him out and not after the relief that lingered in his thank-yous.
But after all of the crazy creatures she'd encountered in a day, especially the tricky and deceitful ones, she wasn't going to take any chances. She was waving and smiling awkwardly hoping he'd have things to do, like bathe, and not eat her soul or anything. She really needed that to get home.
((Sorry had to cut Liz short, need to run out for an hour. Bbs! :)))
He sighed, shaking his head. He opened his hand, whispering a few words under his breat. It was a calling spell. Since his glasses were a smalll object, it wouldn't take much to call them to him. It was a good spell for an object that had been lost. The bigger the object however, the more it took to call it. He wondered what her face would look like as the glasses disappeared, appearing in his hand. He smiled, placing them back over his eyes. His vision cleared, and he slowly made his way in the direction she had gone in soon speaking outloud to the forest so that his words carried a bit. "That was certainly not nice miss...I mean no harm, I was passing through on my way towards the darker region" he looked up at the trees, speaking calmly and clearly. He had come her awhile back, to escape his master. A powerful sorcerer who had grown angry with how much he was advancing, and saw him as a threat. He had been nothing more then a pet to the man, a tool for pleasure and for otherwise his own gain.
When Ryugamine had refused to let him take his power, the sorcerer had plotted to imprison him and take it by force. He had known for awhile that he should leavee, but now that he was free, he could not help but be slightly sad at being alone. It was depressing, having no one around but a raven to comfort him. He sighed, shaking his head. He thought about the mark on his back. It was a sort of magic channel, helping to focus his power. It was also a seal, keeping his other form at bay. He could change at will, but he prefered not to. He much more prefered his human form, the other was far to blood thirsty. He paused for a moment, and looked around him. It was quiet, and though he liked his peace as much as he hated it, silence was not always a good thing. He sighed lightly, it was better to keep moving and go home for now. He turned to return the way he had come, he would feel better when he could sit down to a nice cup of herbal tea. He felt oddly safe here, he knew it was deadly, but he did not think his master would be foolish enough to try and come looking for him here. He would have free reign of his learnings here, and to advance in his studies. It was a good deal in his opinion.
Horus grinned at her widely, barely noticing her waving. In fact, he payed no attention to her hands at all. He continued to repeat his 'thank you's incessantly, growing quieter and quieter as he began to run out of breath. After he winded himself with his gratitude, he finally noticed how she was behaving; nervous and twitchy, the way she was moving her hands drawing his attention the most. In all honesty, he didn't understand. The way she was waving them brought more confusion that clarity as to what she wanted and he couldn't help but tilt his head.
She seemed antsy and tense and he couldn't help but wonder why. He wasn't going to hurt her. Sure he hadn't eaten in what felt like forever, but she did just save his life. He finally decided to take a frantic look around, suddenly remembering that he wasn't quite out of danger yet. Those at the edge of the village were sure to have heard his yelling and told someone. And he knew that they would be coming soon. "M-miss...it's not safe here," he rasped, turning to look at her with wide eyes and twitching ears.
(It's alright. At least yours isn't 'meh' in quality.)
The pale haired woman continued bounding from tree to tree effortlessly. Smiling to herself at the treasure she'd won. Well, stolen. But sometimes it was awfully hard to steal something, so won. When she was sure he wasn't following after her, she stopped. Perched on a branch she inspected the object, opening and closing them and using them to inspect bugs close up.
These could be so useful! She had them in her hand again, smiling, when they began to disappear. She blinked owlishly down at them. Magic wasn't something new to her, but never the less she was puzzled as to how the object had disappeared. She closed her empty hand and opened it again. No glasses. She frowned in a sort of pout, eyes roaming the forest for the human.
She heard him call out just as she spotted him. The darker region? What human would want to travel there? Her eyes suddenly widened. He was wearing the glasses again! How would a human know such magic!? She frowned. Humans were such weak little creatures who knew no magic. This man couldn't be human. Then what was he? Without knowing for sure she knew she needed to be careful. Should he be some kind of powerful sorcerer he could easily ruin her should she anger him.
Her mind returned to the task at hand. She wanted those glasses. Before he would know what happened, Caoimhe had dropped down from her perch and tackled the man. She was sitting on him now, wearing the glasses on her face like he had been. She blinked owlishly. She just didn't get it. She couldn't see a thing with these on. The forest looked like she'd eaten uuji fruit or something, and she hadn't done that in days.
Elizabeth looked around when the fae spoke. What did he mean? She didn't see or hear anything. She gave him a questioning look. She was sure he wasn't actually going to kill her, at least mostly sure. So what the hell was he talking about? Because quite frankly, the statement was making her freak out a little bit. Her heart rate had picked up once again and her eyes were darting around for the source of this sudden danger, when she heard the sure sound of a being approaching, maybe many.
Her skin crawled. Ogres? Wolves? Cannibals? It could be anything. Which direction had it come from? There... no, over there... Elizabeth wasn't going to wait around to find out. The only thing that had kept her alive this long was running, and that's exactly what she was going to do. Without hesitation, she turned on her heel and took off running. She held her dress up with one hand and paved the way with her other, dodging branches and vines and stepping over logs and rocks. She glanced back over her shoulder only once, wondering about the strange creature she'd freed. It didn't matter. Her survival did, so she ran.
He looked up at the female sitting on him, and gave a slight chuckle. "My dear, they will not be of any use for you" he said gently as he watched her. He slowly sat up a bit, and placed her on the ground before him. "You seem to have taken a liking to my glassess hmm? Well, how about we make a trade then" he reached into his bag that he had been carrying, taking out a magnifying glass. "This may be of more use to you, for example" he looked over to see a small bug crawling across the ground near them. Placing the glass over it, the insect was enlarged, so they could see the fetures of it more clearly. He smiled, he had plenty of odd things he was sure the female would find interesting, and he did not mind giving them up at all. The glasses on the other hand he quite needed. His eyesight in his human form was horrible, his eyes better adjusted in his other form then in this one.
He needed them back, and if the female wanted something else in return, that was fine by him. He smiled, it was not so bad. He was quite interested in meeting the natives, and this female seemed to be one better suited in this area. He studdied her a bit, and thought back on some of the readings he had been doing. She seemed to take on a lot of the characteristics of a Nymph, but also similarites to an Elf. He had never seen many cross breedings before, other then himself and that was odd. They were more rare where he was from, since most of the races were in battles, so cross breeding was looked down upon and highly forbidden. In a lot of cases the child would be killed. He himself would have, had his so called father not abandoned him, and his mother died in birth. He was raised by his master, and well, that was a story for another time indeed. He sighed, his mind coming back into the present, and focusing on the girl.
Thain laid his head back against the grass. He was soon corrupted into the land of dreams. Everything around him smelled of soot. Smelled of flesh. Smelled of burning wood. His vision was blurred to the point of his eyes burned. He shut them closed. Trying to blink out the pests that invaded his eyes in a storm. He pushed back, instantly feeling a pull coming from his wrists and ankles. He was tied down in his bed. Tied so tighly the ask was getting into his new rope wounds. It burned like nothing he had ever faced. The sounds outside were that of cheers. Cheering the blazing fire on. Wishing to suffocate him fast. Or bun him alive. What they never realized was how much Thain actually felt from the ordeal. His lungs burned each breath he took.
He pulled, the ropes tightening on his wrists and ankles. He pulled again, harder. A cough escaped his lungs. Still nothing. Again he pulled with all his might until the rope snapped. His fight or flight kicking in. He ran from the building and did not stop. Running for the woods, and leaving the crowds of people to believe he burned with his home. He jumped up from his nightmare. The rope scars were burning, although that was in his head. He knew it. They were healed after all. As his senses came back to him, he realized he was staring right into the face or a Fairy. He was bathing, right in front of Thain... Okay. Maybe just taking a swim, but still...
A thought ran threw his mind to eat the man. Seriously. Easy prey.. or at least so he looked. Instead though the male got up. Wiping his backside off from the leaves and dirt. H slowly began to walk away towards his home about fifty feet away when he hear a growl. No, a stomach growl. "Are you kidding me..." He spoke under his breath. Looking around until he found the bushy tailed soarse. Well, not one, but two people were now here... After solitude for so long. Sooo... when would they leave he wondered..
"Anyone else want to make themselves known?" He spoke out. Not hiding the annoyance in his voice.
Caoimhe was sitting on the ground. She removed the glasses and clutched them possessively at the mention of a trade. She raised and eyebrow and watched him skeptically as he pulled something from his bag that resembled the glasses, but with only one eye piece. When he held it over the bug, she leaned forward. It acted the way drops of rain did, but it was much bigger, and much sturdier.
She dropped the glasses immediately and grabbed the magnifier, knocking on it once, biting it once and then banging it on the ground once. When it held up, she smiled, holding it up to her face where her features would surely be magnified. Currently bright teal eyes blinked through the glass. It was broken... she frowned. It wasn't magnifying the man or the trees or anything at all. She'd been jipped.
Caoimhe shoved the glass at the man's chest. "It's broken," she said, finally speaking as she crossed her arms over her chest, closed her eyes and turned up her nose in disapproval. His bag caught her eye and she picked it up, immediately stuffing her arm inside to see what other treasures the man had brought on his journey to the darker region. If he tired to take the bag from her, she would clutch it tightly and growl at him.
He chuckled lightly, and stood up. "You merely need to look at it through this way" he held it up to her, but at a bit of a distance. The results the same as it had been with the bug. "Hold it at a slight distance, instead of right at your eye" he held it out to her. "If you do not like it, and will allow me my bag, perhaps I can show you something else that would intrest you instead?" he made no rushed moves, he had no intrest in making any enemies right now. He was curious about her as she was about him. There was no harm in it, she wasn't used to the things he had brought with him and used, but again he saw nothing wrong with that. He waited to see what she would do, moving over to his glasses he picked them up. He whispered a few words, the dirt being cleaned from them, and the slight crack that had begun to form fixed itself. He smiled, placing them back before his eyes once more, and his vision cleared.
