A little bit of background: Landon is the prince of Axon whose Father has entered into negotiations with the Queen of Teranoble to wed Landon to the queens daughter and join their two kingdoms. Landon is currently traveling to Teranoble to meet the Princess and the Queen in hopes of having a chance to meet the princess before the engagement is finalized.

Background: Aadlina is a maid in the Princess’ house she was taken into the castle because of the death of her parents left her indebted so now she works as an indentured servant to pay off the debt.

Background: Vaan was once a farmer, but his father had borrowed to much money from the King, and his only son was sent to be a servant for Prince Landon ever since.

Landon sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time in his travels not understanding why he had all the way to Teranoble. To a point, he could understand why his father wanted him to meet his future wife to encourage an actual relationship between the pair would be better then arranging and forcing the pair into a union. He had heard that the Princess’ name was Arabella aside from that he knew nothing about this woman he was sent to court.
Axon was a land that was ten days travel from Teranoble and they were in their seventh day. The rainy season in Exric had slowed them some and forced them to bunk down early a few days, ultimately, leaving Landon with few knights and his servant Vaan, who had been in the castle so long he had earned a respect from the prince not many held. Vaan was a friend and confidant over a servant although no one would know that.
“What do you suppose Teranoble is like?” He questioned quietly leaning over to Vaan.

" I'm not sure your highness. Though I have heard that there is a wonderful garden there" Vaan told him. Vaan didn't know much about the surrounding land either.

Arebella sat patiently in the throne room, ever since they had heard about the Prince heading there way, Arebella was to sit in the throne in order to be there to greet the Prince. She had her lessons there, worked on her stitching, and basically did everything but eat, sleep, dress, or get bathe their. It annoyed her to no end. She looked over to her maid, Aalina, who she had requested to be her personal maid, when she was younger. She did this to keep the older staff, and the head maid from being to rough. " Do you know anything about this Prince?" She asked her.

“Not an awful lot princess” Aalina answered. “The Prince is called Landon and He is said to be traveling from Axon with a few knights and servants. I could see if I can find out more if you wish highness?”

Landon nearly growled at his servants news he hated being in the dark about important things like this. It seemed out of the blue that his father had asked him to travel to Teranoble Landon did not even know that there were negotiations about their marriage until his father told him about his trip. Upset was an understatement in describing how Landon felt when he received the news he had always thought he had an open relationship with his parents.
Looking toward the sky he saw clouds in the distance. “Great like we did not hit enough of this in Exric” The prince muttered to himself. “Looks like the weather is against us again Vaan. Wonder if it’s a sign that we should not go to this Teranoble. Although I guess Teranoble could be a wet kingdom.”

" That would be great if you could" Arebella said. She wondered what kind of main this Landon would be. Would he be a man who gave her no say, or would he let her rule the throne that was rightly here.

" I wonder if your highness is right" Vaan mused. " Though, it could be an omen of something else too" He said. He did wonder why it seemed that there was so much rain, he was sure someone who told the Prince and his party if this was a wet country.

Bowing her way out of the throne room Aalina hurried her way across the castle in search of someone who knew about this Prince Landon and his country of Axon. Aalina soon found herself one of the Heralds presence, smiling she asked about Prince Landon. Ten minutes later she found herself hurrying back to the throne room struggling to remember all of what she was told.


“Highness” she bowed “I’ve learned little more on prince Landon. He is from a long line of Grey’s. His mother was a princess that married into the Grey line after a long courtship by his father. Apparently the Greys are known for their length of courtships they all fell in love before their marriage even of arranged. That’s good right?” she said momentarily forgetting herself in her excitement. She cleared her throat. “Axon is a dry land except for three months of fair weather and rain which allows for fertile land during the rest of the year.”

It had started raining a few hours after Landon had spotted the darkened clouds traveling in the rain was always an uphill battle because of the muddy roads. Throwing up the hood of his traveling cloak in the last ditch effort to keep a semblance of dry. This was going to be a long three days.


“Vaan when we get to Teranoble there is something I wish for you to do in relative secrecy. I wish to know all about the land we are in and the princess, as much information as you can gather. I don’t want to go in there knowing nothing about the woman I am meeting.”

Arebella listened to what her maid had to tell her. It made her smile just a bit. She was starting to think maybe things wouldn't be so bad, after all. Though she still wished this wasn't such a last minute thing.
" Wow, I'm surprised at short rainy season they have." Arebella said. She mused for a few more mintues. " Thank you" She told Aalina.

Vaan followed after the group, struggling just as much to stay balanced. He really hated the rain. He yanked his hood up, after the wind blew it off. He listened to the Prince's request. " Of course your highness" He said. Though he wondered how he would do that.

The sun was going down on the eighth day of the princes travels. Landon was deep in thought, whether it was better to stop early and make an early start then fighting through the mud. Staring up at the setting sun through the worsening rain his decision was made. “Lets stop for the night and make an early start. Hopefully the rain will end by then.”

Aalina simply nodded guessing no answer was needed. “If I may your majesty I have a question about this union.” Hoping she was not out of line by stating her interest knowing it most likely was none of her business given her position.

" What is your question?" She asked the maid. She was curious as to what she wanted to know.

Vaan nodded. Well the others answered with a yes your highness. After they had stopped and animals were tied up, someone worked up a make shift shelter for the animals, while, the other worked on getting the tents set up and some type of fire made.

“I was wondering why was there such a sense of rush about this particular engagement? I have heard of courtship lasting ages even in arranged marriages yet this one seems rushed on both sides. Would it not have been better to arrange a more pleasant time for the prince to journey then our rainy season?” She may have been overstepping her boundaries with her inquiries but she was genuinely interested.

In the morning the rain had stopped but the sky still had a dull grey hue foreshadowing rain later in the day. The men were up bright and early hoping not to get stuck in the rain again, after a while they were on their way. Late in the day they came up on the top of the mountain they had been working up since the third day out. It looked over the kingdom of Teranoble, still about a day off. “It’s really green isn’t it?” Landon asked the group at large. “Soon, very soon, we will be there in what I surmise as relative comfort.” He sighed and continued on his way.

" I'm not sure. I wasn't told why, but just that he was coming." She told the maid. Though she was starting to think that it might have something to do with the throne. She wasn't sure, but something told her she may have to take the throne soon, and that was something she couldn't do without a prince.

Vaan nodded," Yes very green, must be a result of the constant rain" He mused. He did hope that the last day would be over soon, he was tired of sleeping in a tents, with rain surrounding them.

The next day as the small party entered the grand city of Teranoble there was no fanfare no bells and whistles nothing to announce that a prince just entered through their gates. Looking around he could see the outskirts of the walled city were crumbling slightly where the poorest supposedly lived. Landon had never noticed before how the poor of any city lived he like most of his family tended to ignore their plight now though he was not so sure he could. Shaking his head they finally reached the castle that sat in the middle of their city. Landon dismounted and looked around trying to find some sort of servant in the courtyard, judging by the height of the sky they must have been in or at supper. ‘Great just great’ He thought. “Vaan see if you can find anyone while the rest of us find the stables.”

Aalina stood back after serving supper to the princess, the Queen it seemed was taking her meals on her quarters and would not be joining her daughter for the second day. It was none of Aalina’s business but she could not help but wonder why that was. In the past the Queen had always taken meals with her daughter, Aalina shook her head and tried to concentrate on her task at hand. She heard a horse whinny and looked discretely out a window near by. “Begging your pardon princess but I do believe that the prince has arrived and is in the courtyard, Shall I go see to him?”

Arebella looked up and over to Aaline, she suddenly felt to nervous to met this Prince, what if would she do if he found her to be unsuitable. She nodded, then found her words. " Yes of course, and please send someone to inform my mother" She said. Though she wasn't sure what good that would do, her mother had seemed to seal her self up in her room for some odd reason.

Vaan dismounted from his horse, he then gave the Prince a small bow. " Yes, as you wish" He said. He went off to find someone, this place seemed rather servant less. He also hadn't scene many people on the way into the Kingdom, thought the state the poor lived in was simply horrible.

Aalina almost tripped over herself heading toward the courtyard after sending someone to the Queens room. Most princes and the like did not enjoy being kept waiting. She slowed as she approached the inner most yard, claming her breathing she strode toward Prince Landon. “Sir” she spoke as she bowed deeply still a little breathless. Landon simply nodded his acknowledgement and she took that as motive to continue. “The princess wishes that I accompany you to the dining hall where she is currently taking supper.” Landon nodded again and paused looking for Vaan to arrive back at his side.

“My horses still need to be stabled and I have just sent my servant to find some stable hands” he informed quickly as to not look asinine.

“Yes my lord” Aalina responded “I believe that the stable hands are on their way here as it is too their suppertime.”

Arebella got up from her spot, and order the maids to bring in some more food in for their new arrivals. She gulped she was really nervous. She still had no idea what this man was going to be like, and it worried her.

Vaan on his way to find the some servants, he ran into he stable boys, and led them back to the horse," Your highness, I found some servants" He said with a bow.
