I've always wanted to go to Scotland. I would assume it's much better than Texas right now or any time for that matter.

Well, if you're not stuck on a tinytiny island with your extended family who all hate each other, and where there is Nothing To Do x3 On the plus side, I just passed my a-levels, so I am Golden Girl at the moment.

Hey everyone, I just joined the RP today. I'm a bit new to roleplaying, so if I get stuck or have a writer's block, I'll come here. :]

Edit: On a side note, I meant to dye my hair dark brown - like a chocolate truffle color. And being the smart person I am, picked up brown-black, and now my hair is a soft black with the barest hint of brown. Definitely not what I expected at all. Luckily, it doesn't look bad on me.

Lol. Oh jeez. You were lucky then! Lol! I don't fiddle with dye. D; Mostly because I'm prego and I can't really deal with heavy fumes like that. I could baredly deal with them 'Before' being pregnant.

Yeah, I know >.< Actually, it's weird. I LOVE the smell of generic hair dye. By the way, how far along are you?

I am currently 25 weeks in. She is due December 10th. I'm excited and ready to meet her for the first time.

Wow, that sounds pretty exciting. :] Personally, I've decided since I was about 13 I want to adopt. My mom's like "But you have to pass on our bloodline!" and I reply "That's what I have cousins for, duh." Lulzors.

Well we can safely say that Allie wasn't planned, which just goes to show that no one can predict the future. But whether she was planned or an accident we love her just the same.

And even if pregnancy is not for you, adoption is a beautiful thing as well. The one thing, I can't bring myself to believe in is abortion. And I know that is a touchy subject for most... but I, personally, don't believe in it nor agree with it.

:] That's good. And yeah, I totally dig the against abortion thing. I mean, I can understand if it's traumatizing, especially with rape cases and stuff, but there's adoption for that. And then what REALLY gets under my skin is the "Ohh I want a baby! And then halfway through, or like 2 months before the baby's born they're like "Oh I change my mind'.

Yeah. It's really sad if you think about it. And now I hear rumor that you can 'Abort' even after the child is born. They 'euthanize' the baby. WTF? I mean really? What the hell is this world thinking?

In my opinion, every child needs to be given a chance to live. Whether you take care of it, or give the baby up for adoption... No child in my eyes deserves to die because they are born from sin. They are innocent and naive to the world. All they know is love when they come out. Not hate. And all they ask is for love in return. I think that's why I love kids so much. Lol. Because they have such an innocent outlook on the world to where anything is possible.

You're so right. I don't think I can really say anything, I pretty much agree with you 100%.

I think that rumor about euthanising babies is, well, just a rumor o.o;;; I mean, srsly. It sounds like something the Inquirer would come out with. Or that story (I can't remember what it's called) of the Dystopia/Utopia where they try to make everyone the same...

That said, I think you have to consider the rights of more then one person here; the mother is just as important as the child. Certainly over in Ireland there was a terrible fuss recently over a teenage girl whose foetus had anencephaly, where parts of the skull and brain are missing - while it could be carried to term, the foetus was incredibly unlikely to survive, and even if it did would not live a life that would be very long or worth living. She was initially prevented from travelling to the UK for an abortion, but I believe she was allowed in the end. My own mother had a horrific late-term abortion for similar reasons; my younger brother would never have survived, as he had a condition where his lungs and a few organs simply didn't develop.
Similarly, cases of misimplantation, for example when the embryo is accidentally implanted in the ovarys, or the fallopian tube, need to be aborted - otherwise both the mother and the child would die. Or you could look at cases of abuse, especially incestual, where very young girls become pregnant; the damage both physically (being simply not built to bear children yet) and mentally can be immense. Similarly, there are some cases where people simply shouldn't be able to have children - I'm not arguing for mass sterilization or forced abortions - for example in the case of people who have certain learning disorders and simply wouldn't be able to meaningfully consent to sex in the first place; we shouldn't force them to go through a pregnancy that they can't understand after being essentially raped.
I agree with you though that abortion should be a last resort; it can be both physically and mentally damaging in some cases, but it is sometimes necessary to protect the mother, who should be the primary focus.

I understand where you are coming from on those terms. But the fact that you have an abortion, just to have an abortion is rediculous. Especially when you are stupid enough to go to a party, drink yourself to stupidity and then find out you just slept with the wrong guy. As far as incest. Well incest is just... ugh. Those messed up enough to do something like that is just... beyond me. As for the survival, if I were to die, but my baby would survive... I would not get an abortion. I've heard of several of these cases. To me, it's selfish to steal that chance away from my child.

By the wway, are the women that wake the Gods and Goddesses up The Fates? I'm working on Chiara's perspective right now, that she's seeing all this is her crystal ball, but I wasn't sure whom to put exactly. >_<
