Guinalyn did not like the plains and she wanted to go home right this instant. The dragon had been flying for two days and a night to try to get over them in a straight shot, but her heavy eyes and aching wings rendered this feat dubious—perhaps not to an older, more powerful dragon, but she herself was not even aged half a millennia, and quite young for her kind.

As the second night began to drown the light of the sun, the tired creature finally succumbed to her exhaustion and let herself glide down on top of the tall grass. There were no human settlements as far as the eye could see, and there were not many other creatures keen to challenge a dragon, even a sleeping one.

She curled herself into a tight ball, pulling her leathery wings close to her body and wrapping her tail about herself in a circle. In spite of her light blue scales and cream underside, she hoped the darkness would fool any unexpected eyes into thinking she was a large and oddly shaped rock.

Turning her long neck to look about, Guinalyn did not detect anything out of the ordinary, and so lowered her massive head. On both sides, there was a spiraling black horn, and beneath them were horse-like ears, though they stuck out from the sides of her head rather than the top of it. A mane of dark blue fur started at the peak of her skull and ran down her neck and spine to the end of her tail. Thick claws, three on each ‘foot’ were the same dark color as her horns.

Those claws had not killed any prey recently, but she did not need food so much as she needed sleep. Food could most certainly wait until she’d made it to the forest at the end of the plains. While such expanses of trees were not to the beast’s fancy either, they were at least felt more like the towering and protective mountains she was from than this endless grassland did.

She shuddered as she closed her golden eyes. She felt so… exposed. Though she’d looked several times, there was always the chance of missing some detail in places such as these…

Maria had learned the hard way not to travel during the day in her dragon form. Especially through these plains where everything was open and there was hardly any cover. She waited silently in the tall browning grass as the last of the sun's rays gave way to the darkness that was impeding. Shuffling on her human feet with the impatientence of a two year old, Maria closed her emerald green eyes and started to get undressed and pack her cloths away in a small knapsack.

The woman's pale porcilen like skin seemed to glow in the moon light that came from over head, her long ebony black hair hiding the main parts of her slim body. As she looked up she noticed something out in the field that hadn't been there a moment before. With sudden quickness the human body dispersed into smoke just as the other dragon had looked about for any danger.

When the smoke came back together a rather large dragon stood in place of where the woman had been. Unlike the other dragon this one's scales were the color of gold, there were no noticable ears, nor was there a mane of hair going along its neck. The horns that protruded from its skull were an ivory color and in between the two horns were smaller spikes that seemed to form a crown of some sort. There were similar spikes going along the back of its neck and along its back and tale as well.

The golden dragon streached its wings out to the fullest and arched its neck a bit to get all the kinks out. Instead of flying over to the other dragon that had settled down for the night she simply walked over to it. Maria didnt even bother to be stealthy about it.

Guinalyn lifted her head at the noise that was now moving towards her at a steady pace—and promptly lumbered to her feet as she saw what is was. Another dragon?! How had she missed such a thing? It was certainly not a dragon she knew, and she doubted it was one of King Hagane’s subjects… Perhaps a loner, or a different race of dragon! She’d heard of them, but never met one. Why, she’d never been away from home until now!

What is your name? Guinalyn’s voice echoed in the other dragon’s head. That was how her kind spoke—their sheer size rendered speaking with words deafening and unpractical. No one but the hatchlings used spoken word.

Tilting her head to one side, Guinalyn tried to gauge how large the approaching dragon was. A human man was perhaps the height of her ‘shoulder’ if she stood in a relaxed pose next to one. Was this other dragon larger or smaller?

Maria could easily see that she was a bit larger than the other dragon. When she rests in a lying position a full grown man only reached just below the mid of her shoulder. She knew the other to be a dragon but didnt know what its breed was. For that matter she didnt even know her own breed other than what she had been told. She folded her wings against her sides neatly as she came to a halt just a few feet away and lowered her head in a bow like mannor.
Aria Maria is what they name me but i go by Maria. she replied back as she let out a small hum of amusment. She'd yet to see if this dragon had a human form or not. Most dragon's that Maria knew had a human form. Do you know its not safe to travel during the day in your dragon form around these parts? she asked coursiously as she circled around the smaller dragon with a courious look in her eyes.
