Loki wasn't human. then again he never claimed to be. he stood at five foot even inches, give or take a few under six foot even. he had honey brown e yes and light brown hair that was cut short around his head. Loki was a doctor, but as stated he wasn't human. he worked in the 'magical' department of the hospital. dealing with those driven insane from magic, or who where magical in nature. Loki was a half Human/wiccan and half Vampire. one of the few to have survived to child hood. he did drink blood but never from people, he had bags of the stuff inside of his fridge along with normal food. he had found a semi balance to keep his vampire side down but let him remain as human as he could. he was also the best doctor in the area. he lived out in the middle of no where, with a lot of magical sheilds around his house. Being a switch, both a dominant and submissive, gave him enough trouble. add in those he ended up takeing home to care for and life could get REALLY really interesting. he rubbed at his face as his phone rang. answer it or don't answer it. that was the q uestion.

Outside of this house something lurked, it was no bigger then three and a half to four feet. He was only around six years old and was lost. He would hide behind one bush, peek out then quickly hide behind another as if he thought that was actually be stealthy. Clenched in one of his hands was a stick that was at least a foot taller then him, a single twig poked out of the side with a few leaves attached. The kid jumped out, his clothes old and ragged wearing a simple pair of brown pants and a dark blue tunic...both articles of clothes were filthy. He swung the stick around fighting imaginary enemies as kids sometimes tended to do. Bubling around he tripped over a rock and landed on his back, the stick flew out of his hand and landed a few feet away from him.

Loki twisted as he heard noise to the side of the house, having been getting set to go shopping and came around the corner. he came to a surprised stop stareing at the boy. "Are you okay little one.." and got a good look at the kids apperance. well someone obviously wasn't takeing care of the kid. though how the hell was he gonna ask a kid that young to come into his house so he could call the cops and report the parents..

The kid only looked up, he had wide blue eyes. He blinks a few times and stared like the man was the strangest creature he had ever laid his eyes on. He had only seen a few people like him, but that was at a distance, he was separated by his older brother when first brought here and spent the little bit odf time he WAS here wandering aimlessly hoping to find him. The child stood and brushed off his clothes and walked up to the man and reached up and tugged his shirt in a curious way. The man was so clean and neat compared to the kids dirty clothes and unusual hair, completely shaved off on one side, the other side had a few braids decorated with beads of both bone and metal, some had tiny designs carved into them, the hairless side of his head had little winding tattoos that lead down his neck and spread out on that half of his body underneath his clothes. He didn't speak only stared as if offering something.

(And he is capable of learning English. xD He's young so hes easier to teach.)

Loki sighed and reached down picking the boy up. he carried him inside, set for a fight, and set the kid down at hte table. then placed some fruit infront of him. kids liked to eat right? shakeing his head the half vampire doctor or 'healer' went and sat on the other sid eof the table watchign the boy. well damn. this could be a problem all its own.*

The kid reached over and snatched up an apple. "úll" he said aloud and crunched into it and smiled. He was pretty fun-loving unlike his brother and more accepting to strangers. He looked up at the man "go raibh míle maith agat."

Loki blinked. blinked again and tried to remember where he'd heard that language..and came up blank. "What?" ohh yeah he was so on the ball today.. uhh huh. more like a mile away. "Dunno what you just said but.." he lifted an apple. "Apple" he tapped the fruit repeating the word then pointed at the kids apple indicating 'repeat the word' in his own language he hoped..

"úll" He said again and bit into the apple and chewed it happily while kicking his legs back and forth under the table cheerfully. "AaAAaahhhhp" He tried to say the word the stranger was repeating. His accent was really similar to Irish.

Loki repeated it more slowly. 'A..p..p..l..e..' he murmerd. "Apple.." then he tried repeating the others 'word' as well. 'Ull' came out a bit..thick and sounding more like he was trying to cough up a slice of apple instead of saying the word in another language.

"AAaahhhplee.....Ahpuel...Apple..." The kid said slowly while rotating the half eaten fruit in his hands before taking another bite. He looked up at the man and tilted his head.

"Right. Apple." Loki nodded as he watched the boy then offerd him another apple as he contemplated. well he wasn't very well letting the boy go back out to live wild ..'looks like I have him until his folks come looking..' he mentally sighed. well it couldnt' be THAT bad right? right..*

The boy took the apple and hopped down from the chair, and just on cue with the mans thoughts wandered into the living room in curiosity. Biting at the apple he poked at random things sitting around

Loki fallowed the boy then got an idea he sat him down picked up one of those 'alphabet' books and started showing him each letter repeating them. 'A for Apple' and such. figureing he'd better keep the kid distracted so he didn't end up touching something that could get him hurt.

The child did good repeating the letters and recognising the items that was associated with them. he finished off the new apple and dropped on the floor.

Loki sighed and turned on the tv to ak ids station as he picked up the apple core to throw it out. hopeing the kid didn't move in the few moments it would take to throw out hte apple.

The kid screamed, frightened by the TV and crawled behind the couch shouting angerly at it. He wedged himself between it and the wall and refused to move.

Loki closed his eyes. well DAMN. "Its a TV kid.." he pressed his hand against the screen. "See.. nothing can get you from it.."

THe kid kid slowly came out and crept over, a little cautious and poked at the screen and knocked on it. "draíocht.."

Loki blinked then. "T.V." he said simply. uncertian what 'Draiocht..' ment.

The kid stared some more. "Teee bee" he mumbled and poked at the buttons.

Loki winced as one of the buttons happend to be the volume.. which sky rocketed from an even five up to twenty in moments.. the comercial playing suddenly blareing loudly. "Yeah.. T V.."

The kid was behind the couch again glaring out from behind the TV, he did NOT like the volume button.

Loki laughed. "No no it's alright see.." he made sure he boy could see him hit the 'down' button and the sound went back to level five.

The boy came out of hiding and looked up at the man with his big blue eyes. "asarlaí" he said and tilted his head.

Loki sighed. okay this.. was so not going to fly he wasn't cut out for kids. well not high maitnance anyways. "T..V.." he murmerd as he moved and picked the kid up. first things first. they needed to get the kid some clothes or well a bath more percicesly. he headed up the stairs tothe bathroom. sat the kid down on the toilet with the lid down and then makeing sure the boy was secured went and grabed one of his shirts. a bath was the first thing..
