For Mira-Charma13 and xsayhellotosunshinex only!

Setting: Town/Small Village
Topic: Vampire x Werewolf
Type: Yaoi

NAME: Shadow

AGE: Eighteen To Twenty-Four

LOOKS:

FACTS: Shadow is a very arrogant, noble vampire. He is the only one of his kind--a Silverblood vampire. All the rest of his kind had been wiped out by a disease called SilverStone, which only affected Silverbloods. This was a good thing for humans and werewolves, their rivals. Silverbloods were insanely powerful, almost like Gods...

Name: Radeaux Ilve
Age: 17 permanently
Gender: Male
Species: Demi Werewolf
Looks: Described in post, picture soon

Facts: Radeaux is known by his fellow Demiwolves as Rad. He is a cold-blooded killer; a bred, trained, and selected killer of high-powered vampires of all types. To show he is this certain form of werewolf, he has a pair of horns poking up from his head; the right has a blue ribbon, wrapped twice and tied in a bow, from his older sister. Another ribbon is tied in his hair and holds purple beads, given to all male Demis that have not yet mated. Demi Werewolves mate for life with an overwhelming urge to protect that mate to the death.

((Okay, then! Let's see...))

There were several advantages to being a Silverblood, Shadow thought.

Silverbloods were nearly all-powerful, like Gods. They could peek into the future and the past, though these powers were limited, and they could also, with practice, read minds and manipulate the emotions of others. Silverbloods were also known for being incredibly beautiful and successful, as well as talented. They couldn't be bitten by enemies, unless they didn't know better--their blood was toxic. Unlike most other breeds of vampire, they could walk in sunlight. Though, if exposed for too long, they could grow ill. They also had a...way...in the bedroom. That was a secret, however, they only shared with their lovers (and they almost always had more than one) .

Of course, there were also downsides. Weak immune systems...Silverstone, a disease which afflicted them, had wiped out most of the Silverblood race...

Shadow was the only one remaining. Good news for humanity. But still bad news...they wanted him eliminated, as did other races. He only found this amusing, and saw it as a challenge.

At the moment, Shadow had left his isolated forest mansion to buy supplies in the nearest small town. He stood out, with his azure hair and golden eyes--trademark features of a Silverblood--and extravagant clothing.

Step. Twitch. Glance right. Glance left. Cower. Cowercower. Step. Shiver. Rub arms, rub arms. Flop sleeves. Step.

That was the beat followed by a young Demi Werewolf, his seafoam green eye peeking out from behind auburn hair that hung deceptively into an eye of an entirely different shade; a bright, icy yellow that glowed when blood and flesh found its way into his mouth. Three red, curving triangles, the two on the outside shortest and the middle one twice the length of the others, made that eye stand out, and even helped the glinting of the two visible piercings on his face; one in the eyebrow and snakebites.

A pair of horns stuck out of his head, poking up then curving back and out to stand at the top of his head and fan out behind his ears. They were fluffy and a steel blue; tell-tale signs of a race of werewolf that nobody knew about. They worked in secret, hid themselves away; there were no bite-ins, and they were a very tribal race. A blue ribbon wrapped twice around his left horn, tied there as a sentiment from his only sibling to have survived, and a ribbon matching in color hung down, garnished by purple beads. Beside it lay a finger-trap looking device that wrapped around a section of hair; they were both significant. His ears were studded with hears and stars, cuffed and on the right ear was a long-chained piercing with a blazing sun at the end.

In his neck, another piercing lay, and on his collarbones, his sternum, nipples, belly button, hips and...other certain places. Apart from the traditional piercings, his body lay riddled with three major tattoos. The Assassin's Bands rested on his arms, two stripes with twin rectangular cuts in the sides lay on the upper arm, just beneath the shoulder, attached to a band of black at the elbow. The diamond of the Hunter rest in the center of his chest, a deep crimson for the blood of those slaughtered and a dark black for the tormented souls he hunted. Around his neck was yet another tie to his tribal heritage; a backwards S, nearly connecting to itself, with a black jewel situated in the center of each swirl near where the tip resided. The charm itself was titanium, but the clasp holding it on the rope was gold. Pure gold. Even the piercings were titanium. Silver didn't hurt the Demis, but it was terribly uncomfortable to have iron around.

However, all of these, even his neck, was covered by an extravagant shirt with a turtle neck, bundled up to his chin like a virgin pulling up the covers on her wedding night. The sleeves were incredibly long, going down to his knees and all sorts of buckles and zippers and belts rested on them, as well as holding the shirt tight to his body. He was built, but not over-much, just enough to make him formidable in a fight. A tail, fluffy and similar in color to his ears, slowly wagged from side to side in worry; he was nervous. This was his first time on his own, and he had to find his target near here, or at least find some information about him. He had heard he was a Silverblood; he had to be careful. A bite wouldn't work. But, strapped to the leather pants on his shapely legs, was a gun with special bullets made of things found in the forest near the secret encampment of the unknown race.

He simply seemed foreign and out of place in this town, like he had no idea what was going on. Which, in all honesty, was the case; but he didn't seem very special except for the fact that nobody had ever seen someone like him before. That made him rare, and, in other words, desirable.

Shadow also stuck out like a sore thumb. He stopped briefly when he saw this stranger, intrigued by his also sticking out like a sore thumb. It wasn't often people would stick out in a tiny human village like this. They tended to be wary of or even shun or attack non-humans.

He looked like a werewolf. Silverbloods didn't mind werewolves, unlike most of the other variations of vampire. They had more of a problem with creatures called Angels. Who weren't really angels.

Certainly, this was the most peculiar-looking werewolf Shadow had ever seen. And he'd lived a long time. All the piercings, the horns...he seemed like a different breed. Possibly a mutated breed? Was this one a nomad? Or did he have sinister intentions?

He certainly hoped his fur coat wasn't off-putting. It wasn't real fur, after all. It just looked like it.

After pausing, Shadow reluctantly started walking again, headed for a little corner shop that sold what he was looking for.

A scent wafting on the breeze caught his sensitive nose and he suddenly turned his head to the other as if he were absolutely sure that this man would take him home. He didn't know what to do...if he spoke, it would likely give away that he wasn't very good at English. He could hardly speak it, and his accent muddled most words. However, he spoke an extensive number of odd dialects, such as Elvish, many languages spoken by animals, and he had a way of connecting and communicating with nature. He could even speak dead languages very well; Latin was a favorite, but he didn't dare breathe a word of it, now. No, that would be bad.

He stalked up behind the odd man, licking his lips and looking like he was anticipating something. "H-...e-....ellor...?" He offered, looking unsure of himself. His accent was thick but...almost indescribable. It was like nothing anyone in the village had ever seen, once more earning him the shunning he so richly 'deserved'.

Shadow kept walking, not glancing behind him. "Yes? What is it?" he asked, politely. Though he didn't quite like the fact that this stranger was so close behind him, he really did need to get to that shop before it closed.

Silverbloods, up close, had a weird smell to them, if the 'smeller' had a sensitive nose and the Silverblood wasn't trying to hide it. Sweet...sickly sweet...like a mix of sugary candy, chocolate, ice cream...anything sweet. It was quite distinct.

That smell...it was almost intoxicating. If there was one thing that had always captivated Radeaux, it was sweets. He preferred honey over meat, most days, and would slather it all over his every meal. He could feel saliva pooling in his mouth.

He swallowed it to speak, "I...nee'rd...'el...el...uhhm..." He paused, then slipped into an easier language to speak. "Ji mui elliis nuja." I need help.

Shadow didn't seem to understand him--either that, or he wasn't paying attention, for he'd just arrived at the corner shop. "Good evening, madam. I would like to purchase some incense, please," he informed the woman behind the counter. She seemed more used to him, like he was a regular customer.

Truth be told, he didn't understand him. "I'm sorry?" he mused, watching the woman behind the counter fetch his favorite type of incense.

The werewolf growled a little under his breath, then tried again. "I...nee...eeed...err...h--...heeeeeeh...." He pouted, "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh...p?" This was difficult.

He began to think in his native tongue, the words flying through his brain like it were a reflex. Among them, a few easily recognizable words from the wolf language were those akin to 'infernal', 'stupidity', and 'humans' laungauge'.

"Ah, help?" Shadow replied, taking the incense the woman had just fetched him. "What do you need help with?"

He wasn't really in the mood to converse. He just wanted to get home and stay home, with the incense to help him relax. His last remaining lover--all of his lovers had been human--had just died a week or so ago, and Shadow was still devastated deep down, though he looked calm.

"Sha....www..." It was obvious he could learn the many dialects of the forest, but English was a struggle. "Sha...aaaaaaaaaad...aaaaaaaaaaaaaadoooooooooooooo ooooooooo..." He offered, looking a bit pathetic, now. He honestly didn't even know if he had the right person to ask. But...he smelt so good.

You smell nice, I bet bees chase you. The thought occured to him in his native tongue.

Shadow didn't allow his smile to fade. How...did this stranger know his name? Was he looking for him? A thousand questions brewed in his mind, but he beat them down.

"You are looking for Shadow?" he asked, curiously. "What languages do you speak?" He was hoping to get information, and as a result needed to get over the language barrier.

A nod. This was slowly getting easier. And...if he asked what he spoke...that would make it so much better. At least he could understand English; he just couldn't speak it for the life of him.

"El...elfuh...woooooooooo....oo...loof? Fooo...foooooooooooooooooooooooo~ooooooo...re...re eeeeeeeeee..." A frown, "Frest." The way he said it, it sounded more like 'first'. However, the woman nearby seemed to understand.

"He knows forest languages." She put in, "Most likely animals, elves, pixies, maybe some telepathy." He nodded to show she was right.

Shadow didn't know if he could understand any of those. Since he tended to blend more with human society, he had learned all of their languages--at least, all the ones he had come across--and had avoided learning forest langauges. "Are those all? Do you know any human languages? French, German, Italian...? Latin?"

"La...aaaa..." He only hoped that that would be good enough for the other to go off of. He couldn't pronounce his T's very well. And, when he did, it sounded funny. "Larrrdin."

Shadow nodded, seeing that would be best to go off of. "Latin it is, then," he replied, in perfectly fluent Latin. "You are looking for someone named Shadow? I have heard of him...why are you looking for him, exactly?"

"Yes...I seek him for...work. My...my tribe was killed and...I have nowhere else to go. I have heard he appreciates rare things and...seeing as we were the only ones of my kind...and I am the last left..." He sighed, looking honestly upset. "Then that means that...I am incredibly rare." Another pause, then, "And...I have heard he is as rare as I am."

Shadow was naturally wary. He rarely ever hired anyone, for anything. It was true that he appreciated unique and peculiar things, as well as unique and peculiar people. He didn't know if this one had hostile intentions. But, Shadow thought he could handle himself if something were to happen.

Shadow's worst trait was his arrogance, at times. He thought himself fearless and all-powerful, which was not true at all.

"...I suppose I can stop lying to you, now--my wariness has faded." He extended a pale hand. "I am Shadow. And you are?"

His whole mission rode on this moment. It prayed upon Shadow's love for the unique or arrogance or something that would make him want to keep him. However, his words were comforting and he smiled sadly, but nearly tackled the other in an outright show of trust for his people. Anything for a mission.

"I am known as Rad. I am so glad you trust me enough to let me know who you are. It is very important...was very important to my people to trust one with a name. A name is who you are..."

Shadow had not been expecting the hug, and he stood there for a moment, eyeing him. He still felt suspicious, but he would keep that to himself.

"I see...if you are looking for work, I am not hiring. But, however, I do need some help with upkeep. Landscaping. Gardening. Cleaning. If you think you can do that?" Shadow was lazy. He had planted a garden around his home, but he had been too lazy to keep it from growing out of control. He also left rooms he barely went in in his home extremely dusty.

Knowing a little about these vampires made him need to keep thinking of his sister as if she were dead. His father, as if he were long gone, wiped out by humans. He even made sure to show some fear when a human grew too close to him.

"I...can do gardens...landscaping....I can try to clean." He had never cleaned more than a cave floor before.

Shadow nodded, idly. "Fair enough. Come with me."

He began to lead Rad back up the path he had come down to reach this place. It took a few minutes of walking through dense, lively forest before reaching his mansion. It was an old, creaky-looking place. The gardens around it were flourishing...a little too much. They were starting to overflow the pathway leading up to the mansion, which Shadow walked down with ease.
