Name: James Wooley
Age: 19
Bio: He'd always was the person people looked to for help when trying to cram in on studying for a test that was in the next two or less days, hours, minutes. The person people looked to when a partner was needed in class, the person they also used as a punching bag from Junior High through College. He had done everything he could to try and release the pain and anger he had pint up from them, it just wasn't worth the frequent trips he made in and out of a certain place, all the pain pilling upon one another, it just wasn't working, he'd looked into all types of studies; only sticking to the ones that interested him the most. He'd promise them all he'd get them back one day, that they'd all pay, well he didn't tell them, but in his journal he did.

Name: Loki
Age: ?
Bio: Loki is a demon of deception, bound to lies and riddles, who takes great joy in "playing games" with mortals; nothing brings him more joy than knowing he is causing havok or making those around him squirm. He is willing to do anything to get what he wants, and is usually clever enough to pull his many schemes off (though not always). Several hundred years ago, he was bested by a mortal man in a challenge of wits and has since been bound in servitude to mortal men.

James walked into the school casually trying not to get spotted by his regulars. Shuffling along to his locker, still lucky he wasn't spotted. He couldn't really deal with the things they were shipping out to him now since they were Seniors in College, the treatment, torment, the teasing, the everything had gotten worse. He couldn't handle it as much as he seemed to be doing. In and out of therapy, and other places he'd rather not mention... he already had to eat his lunch up on the roof, all alone and isolated. He never thought of it now, but he could plot while he was up there during lunch.
"Hey!" Someone called from behind him. Slowly he turned to see one of the jocks that terrified him to the point where he was already shaking, he knew the voice anywhere.
"Kent?" Yeah, it was him, the way he spoke his name was more a statement than a question.
"You know what time it is?" He asked as he proceeded to place a hand on his shoulder, guiding him to the bathroom to give him a swirly. Aimlessly James followed to get it over with, not even putting up a fight.

Loki had been watching James for some time; he hadn't kept track, exactly, but he thought it had been three or four days since he'd first appeared in this realm. It was clear to him that he had been summoned by James's voice, but the mortal seemed to have no idea that he had summoned the demon. Loki had been reluctant to reveal himself--he didn't like telling mortals that they had any sort of power over him--but he had finally come to the conclusion that he wouldn't be able to fulfill his contract with this human unless he finally revealed himself.
That was why Loki was waiting for Kent and James in the bathroom.
He prowled up and down the tile floor, inspecting the facility to the smallest detail (he had never been inside a school like this before), until he heard the familiar voices approaching from the hallway. He approached the door immediately and threw it open just before Kent was able to reach out and grasp it, drawing a startled look from the man as the demon stood between him and bathroom. But Loki didn't give Kent a second glance; his reddish-brown eyes settled on James immediately and a slightly smiled crept up the corner of his mouth.
"Sorry," he said, shoving Kent hard with his shoulder as he seized James by the sleeve of his shirt. "Not today." He started down the hall in the opposite direction, towing James behind him.

Who was this person who was pulling his sleeve, away from Kent. Didn't they know how much pain he could inflict on them! This was his own paranoia speeking to his mind as of the moment, as of every moment. He looked up at the person. His eyes... they were such a odd color. Contacts they had to be contacts.
"Who are you?" James managed to get out, he knew this school like the back of his own two hands and still didn't know where this mysterious person was dragging him. "Where are we going?!" James struggled and tried to pull away. The persons grip was strong. "Let go!" He screamed as he continued to tug and pull his arm free. Pushing down the heels of his shoes trying to stop the person, or make himself trip.
"Who are you!" He screamed as he continued to wriggle and squirm. Protesting his way into harm, he knew these types, randomly picking a kid to abuse, someone that always didn't want one person to have all the fun of hurting someone, all he could think about while he struggled is:why?

At first Loki tried to ignore the human's pleas, intending to explain what he had to when they were in a more private setting, but James's continued struggling struck the demon as quite amusing and he shot a slightly slanted grin over his shoulder at the boy. Even more amusing still was the fact that no one in the crowded corridor seemed to think anything unusual about James being dragged kicking and screaming through the school.
A loud bell struck and all the students began to scatter; it wasn't until they were more or less alone in the hallway that Loki finally released James, shoving him roughly into a row of lockers. He shoved his hands in his pockets and chuckled.
"Don't pretend you don't know who I am," he said, still grinning. "I know what that kid was about to do to you. You should be thanking me. I mean, that's what you called me here for, isn't it?"

James' stomach knotted when the kid looked over his shoulder and grin at him. What was he going to do to him? He hadn't seen him around, was he new? Great, someone else to make his life a living Hell. Like he didn't have it enough. He knew every exit out of the school, maybe when the kid let go he would make a run for it.
The bell rung, everyone left the halls as usual, leaving him to his demise, his doom, his torment, his torture, his everything; being bullied was far more worse than anyone who confronted him about it thought. No one even stopped the kid, not even gave him a sideways glance.
The kid finally stopped and shoved James into the wall of lockers that lined the hallways. He felt the pain spread from his back muscles to his spine, then letting the rest of his body have a dose of the pain. The kid began to chuckle. It made his head spin.
"What do you mean don't pretend that I don't know you! I don't!" He noted that the kid was still grinning, what was his deal. He was speaking in a high pitched squeaky voice, he was nervous, scared, and wished to go back to the bathroom, he was about to wet his pants. He spoke quickly. "Thank you... but I do have to get to class..." James slowly stepped away from the kid. What did he mean that he 'Called' him here? The last person he'd remember calling was God, in his silent prayers as he was dragged to the bathroom.

Loki laughed again. This kid was really something! He seemed completely honest about his confusion; he had no idea who Loki was or what he was doing here at all. Maybe there was no reason to change that. He stepped back from James, spreading his arms out and bowing his head, though he kept his reddish-brown eyes fixed on James's.
"You need to go to class?" Loki asked, still smiling. "What a coincidence, I do too. What class do you need to run to?" He gazed up and down the hallway, looking over every door in sight. "I'll escort you there. That's what I'm here for. You need someone to help you, right?" He motioned to himself, then spread his arms again. "So where are we going?"

The kid was laughing? Laughing! What was his problem? James couldn't take anymore of this than he already had. The kid stepped back, James thought he was going to let him go. That is until he spoke.
"You need to go to class?" The words struck him like a sharp arrow, he repeated them aloud. What was this kids deal? He said he'll escort him there... alright, someone was trying to prank him, someone had a hidden camera somewhere, if not this kid was going to do something unusually cruel to him after gym class today. "M-math...." He stammered as he began to walk, no sprint to his locker to grab his things. He was already late, detention was just waiting for him as soon as he entered Mr. Herman's door.

"Oh, you have math too?" Loki asked, following James with no trouble. This kid was really making everything too easy. "That really is a coincidence, so do I! Wouldn't it just be wild if we were in the same class?" There was a hint of mockery in his voice now. He could tell that he was getting under James's skin, and he liked it.
"I'm new here. My name's Loki," he said as James began grabbing things from his locker and shoving them into his bag. The demon slid his hands in his pockets, a little amused by James's frantic movements. "What's yours? I guess I should know what to call you if I'm going to be looking out for you."

James looked at the kid, was he really going to the same class as him? He needed to do something about it, he could skip class for a day, even though it's not his forte but it can be done, just to get away from this weird kid. Every second was like a searing pain that had embedded itself in his head, his chest and his body in general.
"James..." he said lowly, almost a mutter before he realized his last words. 'If I'm going to be looking for you', what did he mean by that!? Does anyone even know why this kid is here, usually there are announcements, especially to the class they will be joining. "Did I say I had math? I meant... I have study hall...." He was planning to go to the roof to get some air, he needed to cool down. This new kid or whatever was scary.

Loki smirked. "You're not a very good liar, you know. And anyway, you can't deceive me."
He shoved his hands in his pockets again and leaned back against a nearby locker. "If you're trying to ditch me, I'd think twice. There don't seem to be a lot of people around here who like you all that much, you know that? I mean, you must--that's why you called me, right? You need someone to help you, and here I am. You really want me to go and tell that ape who was dragging you into the bathroom that you're all his?"
He raised his eyebrows, giving James a skeptical look. "You want protection, don't you? And revenge?"

James felt awestruck when Loki asked him again about him calling him, what did he mean? Then, then the part about the revenge, he'd told no one, not even his closest friend, his mother. No one, he lives by himself in a small apartment complex, and keeps to himself, but how does Loki know about it?
"What's up with your eyes?" He said, trying to change the subject, he didn't want Loki to run off and find Kent and tell him that James was open for his pickings. "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have lied...." He was right, no one here liked him, even after helping some of the kids he thought they'd like him. He just was one big eye sore in this school. "This way..." he said as he led Loki to math class.

Loki followed James, pleased that the human was being a little more receptive to his presence. His boots clomped heavily on the shiny floor, and he continued studying his surroundings with curiosity written all over his face. Loki liked being in new surroundings, learning new things. "What's up with my eyes?" he repeated lightly. "Nothing, really. This is just how they look. You know, they say the eyes are the window to soul."
Loki leaned in close to inspect James's eyes, an amused smirk playing across his lips, and he pulled back again with making a comment.
"Are you really going to go to math class today?" he asked, lacing his fingers behind his neck and gazing out one of the large windows that overlooked the school grounds. "It's a pretty nice day out. Why don't we skip class and you can show me around a bit?"

James heard the continuous clomping on the floor from Loki's boots. Could he be any louder? He thought to himself. "The window to the what?" James responded a little baffled about what Loki's answer was. "That's not a reason why your eyes look like that..." James said sort of to himself. "They're contacts aren't they?" he was being stubborn and didn't care.
The awkward closeness had passed while Loki looked at his eyes. "Do not try to put that mumbo jumbo in my mind..." He said, already remembering from some of the books he read said something about the opportunity to see the soul through the eyes if the person had that special ability, and some weird rituals on how to get it.
"No, I'm not going to math class, but you should... it is your first day and all..." He responded to Loki casually, trying to hide the fear of being alone with this guy, he had the words 'Your Worst Nightmare' written all over his forehead. "Mr. Herman would be looking for you and will get really angry..."

"Yeah, contacts," Loki agreed dismissively, not in the mood to elaborate. He was impressed that James was smart enough to resist when he peered into his eyes, though; clearly the young man had some knowledge of the dark arts. If he were a little more well-versed, perhaps he would have recognized what Loki was right away.
Of course, that wouldn't have been nearly as fun.
"Don't worry about it," he snorted in response to James's advice. "I'm not too worried about Mr. Herman. I'm more worried you'll get the piss beat out of you while I'm listening to some half-assed lecture on rudimentary geometry. And anyway, we should talk. Get acquainted a bit." Loki slung his arm around James's shoulder, though he kept his eyes on the hallway in front of them. "I'd also like to know how much you know about the occult."

James sighed as Loki commented on Mr. Herman's class... Why couldn't he be left alone for just the slightest of seconds. "I get bullied everyday... I'm used to it..." He said oblivious to what he'd just said before he wrapped his arm around his shoulder.
"I'm fine knowing your name is Loki, you like contacts and your new... What are you talking about 'occult', I've errr, never heard of it...." He tried to sound cool. He took in a deep breath relaxing himself. James was in too deep, how much of this could he take knowing someone else other than himself knows what he's fixated on? Especially if he just met the person. His voice was high and squeaky. Why the Hell was he such a bad lier! Another question is why this kid wouldn't let him go to the roof alone and relax!

Loki laughed. "Terrible! I don't believe you for a second! Can't you lie any better than that?" He finally managed to stop laughing, but couldn't wipe the grin from his face. "Alright, I'll play along. You don't know anything about the occult and summoning demons, and I'm an exchange student who needs you to show him around. We are we headed, anyway?"
He could see a few stragglers wandering up and down the halls, and a group of young guys with black hoods who were standing around another row of lockers, probably thinking they looked intimidating. Loki couldn't help chuckling about that, too; humans were hilarious when they thought they were being tough.
"Why do you get bullied every day?" the demon added, glancing down at James.

James looked at Loki, okay, he was a terrible liar but that didn't mean he had to tease him about it! He noticed that he was still grinning at him, what was his deal?! "Exactly, nothing about summoning demons and the occults of the sort..." He seemed to trip over his own words, he answered his question half truthfully, he really didn't know anything about summoning demons. "To the roof..." he mumbled.
James saw the group who called themselves the 'Basher's', They rarely came to school so he would be safe from them here, but they always seemed to know his route to and from school, even when he found scenic routes, they were there. He tried to cloak his face with his hands, failing miserably. The group pushed themselves off of the lockers and made their way over to the two. James seemed to answer Loki before the group could be within range to hear.
"They just.... since High school... they've bullied me..."
"Hey James, nice to see you here!" Their leader Kevin smiled evilly. "Oh! Who's this?" He pushed Loki, obliviously making the wrong move from what he recently witnessed.
"Please, Kevin... stop..." He said as Kevin and his group pushed him around, tears streaked down his cheeks.

Loki watched Kevin and his gang approach, amused by the attempt the men were making to be intimidating. It was always hilarious when mortals tried to act tough. And this one apparently thought he meant business. The demon made no move to avoid Kevin's pathetic assault, only smirking when his hands touched him. Kevin's group began surrounding the two of them, and another of his cronies shoved Loki from behind, but still he only smiled. Was this really their idea of intimidation?Apparently James thought so, because Loki noticed he was crying. The demon was surprised to see the human breaking down so easily, but his thoughts were interrupted when one of the young men suddenly shoved James, hard.
Loki reacted in a heartbeat, hitting the man with the heel of his hand, drawing a fountain of blood from his nose. Without pausing for even a split second, he slammed one of his heavy boots into the man's ribs, sending him sprawling on his back and clutching at his bleeding face in amazement.
"Sorry, guys," he said, slinging an arm around James's shoulder again and turning face Kevin, giving him the same line he'd given Kent. "Not today."

Again he was being saved by Loki, the new kid. What he couldn't understand is why he was being bullied so much in one day? This wasn't normal. As they walked around the corner James finally spoke. "T-thank you... but.... why do you keep helping me out? I... I just met you and... you're helping me out?" This wasn't something James was used to. This made the axis of his world tip and go unbalanced.
"Do you still want me to show you around?" James asked as he pulled away from Loki's grasp. He decided he wouldn't be so stubborn and naïve. He felt respect for him, but it was out of fear. He'd watch him punch and kick the guy in the ribs, was it all because he saw him cry?

"Yeah, show me around," Loki replied casually, as though their conversation hadn't been interrupted at all. "We were going to the roof, right? A wanna see that, let's take a look."
He didn't try to put his arm around James again, but he stuck close to his side. On either side of the hallway, they could see into classrooms crammed full of students, their heads bent over books and computer screens. The first class wasn't even out yet, and already two different people had tried to beat James to a pulp. The demon gazed down at him, trying to figure out why such an innocent-looking kid was being picked on so much.
"Anyway, I already told you why I'm helping you out. It's why I'm here." Loki grinned. "You don't know anything about the occult, though, right?"

James laughed nervously. "R-right.... nothing at all about the occult!" trying to keep his cool he wandered to the way he always took when he skipped a class or lunch. Just so they wouldn't be seen by any of the police officers. James sighed as he thought about them, how they'd let him get beat up. They were getting paid to do anything and everything to stop it, but they did nothing. The closest he had to security today was Loki.
"We have to crawl a little bit here, it gets small...." He said as he remembered his last encounter with a slanted vent meeting his forehead for the first time. It wasn't pretty. He shook off the memory as he opened the small hole in the wall. Nothing to cover it but a piece of cardboard. This school was cheap, he thought disgusted.

Loki's eyebrows shot up in amusement when James mentioned crawling. The demon had assumed that there was some sort of open access to the roof, but apparently he was wrong because a moment later James was uncovering a vent. Loki peered inside, eager to see what was in store.
"After you," he smirked, gesturing grandly at the vent, and watched the smaller male duck inside. Loki crawled in after him; he was bigger than James, and had a slightly harder time maneuvering around the passageway, but it wasn't long before they were outside in the open air, looking over the tops of buildings.
"Not bad!" the demon grinned, turning in a slow circle to take in the view. "Did you find this little secret all by yourself?"

"Yeah!" James smiled as he smelled the pollution-y air. "So, where are you transferring from?" He asked as he looked at Loki who obviously was larger, taller, and a lot more things than him. He just thought about all the attention he would get from all the other students. Girls flocking and following him in the hallways, to class and all. Then there would be guys who'd want to be his friend, and those who were plotting to take him down and jump him to show them that they were the biggest baddest guy in school. Stupid macho stuff didn't really appeal to James much.
"So..." James said as he tried to start a small conversation with him.
