Lance was the former lead of a dragon clan. He had thirty plus Dragon in his clan. He human killed them all, he tried hard to hide his family, but the humans got to them before he could save them. He had two young children, a boy at the age of three, and a girl the age of seven. They where a strong family. His kids alone took out twelve human. When Lance realized what happened he ran to where his hide his family. The humans set the tree on fire, and the forest reacked of burnt corpse. Lance could no longer recognize his own children, when he looked over at his wife tears came flooding to his eyes. He held all three really close. He swear vengeance on the humans, and promised he would kill that clan of human with out remorse. He look to the skies before barring his family he spoke words of pease over them.

Lance spent five year looking for the clan, and when he found them he let his furry out like a raging wind. He didn't stop till all where dead. He looked about the place and saw nothing but blood. He looked around with a satisfied smile. He left and never returned to that place. He was now looking for a new home.

Maggie was one of two siblings of the once great clan. She was the only sibling however to live and succeed her father as clan leader. Her bother had been arrogant and lost everything including his life. She had been the one to find him and kill the revel clan leader who had challenged him. She had never forgot the day her brother died in her arms or the lessens she had learned from her many battles with her father. She was young but stronger and wisher than any of her elders in her clan. She had not asked for the title or responsibility but found it placed up on her after the war with the humans and the lose of their dear leaders and most of the elders. She had lead the clan now for five years taking it at age 13 in human though in her own age she was older. She longed for having some one who could help lead and let her be weak for once instead of always having to be the strong one. It was time for her to chose her own mate and the clan would not leave her alone till she chose one she dreaded it for the fact there were none she wished to be stuck with. All the males near where weak and to easy to defeat. She wanted a challenge one she could win some of the time and one she would lose to others. She sat by the river as she stared at it happy to be away from her clan if not for a few hours. It gave her time to clear her mind as she sat there hearing the sound of the water.

Lance stumbled into the forest. He was hungry and tired from fighting some of the other dragon clans, that where slaves the the human clan. He was sick of fighting every day. He walked until he found a grand water fall. He turned into his dragon from and slowly walked into the water. It was nice and cool compared the the heat of the air around him. He slowly relaxed in the water and thought about the family he had lost so many years ago. The last thing he told his family was that he loved them and would keep them safe at any cost. Tears welled up in his eyes as he thought of them. He had no where else to go. All of the dragon clans where slave, or so he though. Life for the only free dragon was no life to live at all.

Maggie walked to the water where the water fall was she shifted into her dragon from and was half way in the water when she froze and stared at the other dragon that had already stole her spot. She stared at the dragon as she hung her head not feeling like a fight as slowly backed out of the water not wanting to cause a seen. If he did proset she would just defeat him and go on. She was tired of always fighting and hoped he would leave her be as she laid down on the bank. She missed her father and her brother the clan was hers and her family but it wasn't her brother or father nor her mother. She was alone in this world the clan was hers but they really could care less about her as long as she did as she had been and kept them happy and safe.

Lance spotted the dragon on the bank, he had no fight left in him. "Girl." he said softly. He could tell by the color of her sceles that she was female. "Do you work for the humans?" he asked. If she said yes he would fight her and win, for the human race made the dragons week. He got up and walked over to her, "You don't smell like it. In fact you smell like a leader." he said as he turned into his human form. "Who are you?" he asked her.

Maggie rose to her full height as she stared at the male who addressed her dead in his eyes. She unfolded her wings from her side as she open them adding to the effect. If it was was a fight she would show him she was no weakling her body may be small and light but it was all muscle. She slowly shifted into her human from as she stared at him. "I am Maggie and you are? Do you always greet others with insults such as thous? I hope that wasn't a pick up line you look out of shape and rather weak at this time. I am the leader here and you are on my land so if you keep insulting me I'll feed you to the hatchlings they look like they could take you."

Lance let out a small laugh. "I'm more then what you think." he said as he walked closer to her. He looked her over, and softly spoke "your the last free dragon lead." Lance looked back into the water. "Its been a while since I've seen a free clan." he gently touched her cheek; Lance didn't much care if he got into a fight, for he had been fighting for sometime now. All that Lance wanted was to be free from it all, he wanted a family to call his own. "I can either serve you or be your worst enemy." he said as he pulled away from her. "dear child I have seen more in my days then you will see in a life time." he said as he shifted into his dragon form and got back into the water.

just stared at him before her eyes cut to him a cold gleam appeared in her eyes as her voice became like ice cutting threw the air as she spoke. "You know nothing. I have seen things in my short life that dragons like you would cry at seeing. I can be just the same to you. Stay here if you wont no harm will come to you if you behave and you keep your manners." She said as she felt the pain of losing her parents and family again. She turned as she left him there heading deep into the woods as she stared up at the sky shifting into her dragon from as she lunged into the air breaking free of the trees and flying threw the skies as she loved feeling the wind beneath her wings. She did the battle moves her father had taught her as a child as she heard his voice in her head as she did each loving it.

Lance got back into the water. He knew that she would be back, he just had a feeling about it. He did know the felling she felt, for his family was killed before he could even say good by to them. "My dear May how I wish you guys where still here." he said softly as he leaned up against a few rocks. He thought about his kids and how well they got along. Tears began to flood his eyes. He desisted to go for a swim, mostly because he was also hungery. He turned into his dragon form and dove down deep into the water. Lance was able to get a few fish, that all it really took to fill him up anyway. He then jumped out of the water and shifted back into his human form. He laid out on the bank to dry off in the suns fine rays.

After spending most of her day working and taking care of her duties as leader she flew back to the water. She dove quickly into the water happy not to have the man there who had been there. She shifted into her human form as she floated in the water. She closed her eyes as she laid her head on one of the rocks closing her eyes and enjoying herself. She let out a breath as she smelt the sent he was still there and close. She open her eyes and looked around. "You haven't left? My name is Maggie. I am the leader here not by choice. My father and brother where both killed and both died in my arms. I have been raised since birth as a fighter not as a follower. I didn't want this nor would I have chose it. My clan is strong and rather hard to handle so you have to rule it with force at times. You know the same pain I do I feel it. How much of your family did you lose?" She said as she stared at the water as she laid there.
