As she boarded the boat and wave bye to her family Lily sighed. Why was she even here anyways? Because her parents knew she could make sure the cargo made it to its destination safely and if worse came to worse Lily could very easily defend herself. Her father had really wanted a boy and since he had gotten a girl he had treated her like a boy. This contrasted with her mother treating her like a doll and dressing her up. Lily herself perfered to dress as a boy. She frequently got caught out of palace grounds dressed in guise as a young boy. She was disiplined by her mother and heralded by her father. She turned towards the boat with a sigh. Time to go she guessed. She went up to the deck where the crew was going crazy making sure everything was going just right. Walking up to the guy she figured was the captain she smiled and gave him a bow.
"Hello. I am Lily. Love your boat and thank you for allowing me to come with you. Hopefully this will be an uneventful trip."

The waters in this area were not safe. Not in the least. Naturally, the crew was antsy and wary, constantly on the lookout for trouble even before the ship set sail.

Once it finally did set sail, the land grew smaller and smaller in the distance. The crew had good reason to be concerned. Lately there was talk of nothing but pirates. Pirates...sea rats, vagrants, and criminals...they were sailing amok in these seas and gleefully ransacked any promising-looking boat that came their way. Sometimes they would end up fighting over boats.

This boat was armed with two single cannons, for use in the event of a pirate attack, and every crew member was heavily armed. They were expecting to have to defend themselves.

...Their preparations were not in vain. In mere hours, the sound of cavorting men could be heard in the distance. A rather large, menacing-looking pirate ship was heading their way, wind catching the sails just perfectly. The deck was crowded with armed men, shouting and screaming with joy. The trademark jolly roger was flying on the tallest mast.

As their boat sailed on Lily spent her time on the deck looking beyond them at the different things they passed.
Dolphins...........whales..........was that an island?
Suddenly she heard a sound from one of the crew.
Pirates..............She ran to the other side of the boat looking for these so called pirates.
not to far in the distance she saw a sail. It was black and as it came closer she saw the obvious signs of pirates the jolly roger flag.
Running downstairs Lily opened a small package her dad had given her.
"If you see pirates come towards the ship open it."
Inside where sailors clothes and a small wig to chain her hair color. She grinned
"Good thinking dad."
She quickly slipped on her new outfit and then headed back up to the top of the ship. She noticed people carrying stuff and she began to help carry cannonballs to the cannon. In the confusion no one noticed.

The crew of pirates was simply massive. Compared to the crew of the much smaller ship, it was already clear that the match was terribly unbalanced. The bigger ship swerved with the wind and came to a halt directly aside of the other ship. Immediately, various different pirates swung over from their ship to the small ship, swords drawn, guns at the ready...hollering like savages.

It was clear to see who was in charge. High up on the tallest mast, on one of the top posts, was a young man with long, flowing red hair tied in a loose ponytail with a worn red ribbon. He wore a big black hat with a reddish feather jutting out of the side of it. His large sword was drawn and pointed in the air, and he was shouting orders to his crew in a smooth, youthful voice. He was young...much younger than most of the crew members, it appeared.

As the pirates started to board the ship Lily tried to find a place to hide. She was scared. She would either get killed from this or captured. If she was captured she would be ok unless someone noticed her true guise. She climbed into a large crate. She assumed that because it was in the back either the pirates would not notice it and leave it behind or would notice it and take it to their ship. Either way she planned on making her escape as soon as things settled down. She noticed her freind edward running from a pirate and being cut in two. She gasped. It was so grusome and gorey. How could anyone want to be a pirate?

The pirates did not kill everyone. They left three of the crew members alive--three young, fit deckhands that would do well as new recruits on their crew. After hauling those three onto the ship, the pirates began to scour the rest of the ship, taking as much as they possibly could carry. Their ship was large, of course...it could fit quite a lot of booty in it.

The captain had climbed down from the highest point on the ship by this point. His boots squeaked slightly as he walked towards the battered ship and, with a light hop, jumped onto its deck. Surprisingly, he helped out as any other crew member would, hauling up crates and other items.

The last crate in the back of the ship was suspicious. It was not in line with the other crates stacked back there and looked as if it had been moved recently. With his pistol drawn, the captain wrenched the top of the crate open, peering inside. When he noticed Lily inside, he pointed the pistol in her direction and indicated, with a few whipping motions of it, for her to step out of the crate. His face was stony.

Lilly climbed out of the crate with a scared expression on her face. She put her hands in the air and tried to balance properly so as not to hurt her costume. She had to be a beilivable deckhand but she had no ideas on what to do now. What did one do when a pirate found your hiding place and pointed a gun at you? She took a deep breath to calm her breathing and attempted a smile at him.
"Um hi..."

The pirate, obviously the captain, ignored her words as he kept the pistol trained on her and gazed into the crate to see if anything of value was inside.

Now that he was closer, it was rather easy to see just how young he was. He couldn't have been over twenty-one...there wasn't a chance. His face still held a bit of roundness to it, especially in his cheeks. Freckles were specked sparingly over the expanse of his pale face. His eyes were as green as the most well-kept, valuable emeralds one could possibly imagine... What in the world was someone who looked like this doing leading a crew of rough and tough pirates...?

After assessing the crate, he nodded to a few of his men. They hoisted it up with ease and began to cart it off towards their own ship. The captain jerked his gun towards the left, his face set.

"Stand with the others." His voice was a smooth baritone. Still not as 'manly' as you would expect a pirate captain's voice to be, though it was certainly authoritative. "Don't make any sudden moves, or lead will make its way through your skull."

Lilly sighed doing what she was told. This was great. As long as he did not discover her true identity she would be safe. But if he somehow found out who she really was there was going to be some real problems. She turned to the other three guys curiously. "So why did they not kill us?" She really wondered about why they did not just kill her. She was not useful to a pirate that she knew of. On her belt tucked under her dress she had a small knife just in case someone tried to cause her bodily harm. Is that why they kept her? For her body. She grimaced at the thought. She hoped not.

One of the guys standing with her smiled at her afraid to move. "My name is James. More than likely they plan to recruit us to join them. Although I was not quite aware that girls were on their recruitment list. They will probably kill you eventually."

(James is my new second character)

((Would you prefer to pair him with a male character or a female one, if you want to pair him with someone? I still have a female one ready to use as a member of the crew, and a male one, too.))

The captain eventually made his way over towards the four potential recruits. He had put his pistol away and now had his scimitar drawn. It was an old sword, but he'd taken good care of it. It was sharpened dangerously and polished...

He stood as tall as he could among the much larger and older pirates around him. "Gentlemen, and lady," he began, his jaw set, "you are now the property of the Ashling Pirates. It's quite simple. You either make yourselves of use to us, or you die. If you don't want to join us, I can just kill you right here, right now. You can do the work of a deckhand or work in the kitchen, or if you have a special skill of some sort, demonstrate your abilities and I will give you a different job."

He straightened a bit more. "Call me Captain, or Captain Harcle. I lead this crew. Keep in mind that you now belong to us. We can do whatever we want with you, whenever we want with you...as long as I approve of it."

The captain, Harcle, fell silent for a moment. He looked up, then, at the four crew members. "Do you understand?"

(Lets do male. It will be a nice change of pace. I warn you im not the best with Yaoi but getting better every day.)

Lilly frowned at him a moment. He was the boss of her. How dare he....Well he did not know she was a princess this was true. She would do best to follow suit and take on the persona of a deckhand herself or a servant to the captain. She stared at the pirate with a frown. He was so young and yet he looked so fierce.
"Yes captain." She stared at her new friend with a smile. James would help her. "My name is Laura." She was not sure if telling him her real name was wise right now.

James smiled back at Lilly and then looked at the captain. "Yes sir. I am a skilled navigator captain." He would not be able to help Lilly as a deckhand. He would have to get higher up. He poked her a moment "What is your name anyways?" He whispered to her.

((I'm quite experienced when it comes to yaoi, so I can certainly help you out. *digs around for a good male to use* I believe I have a good seke I can use to pair with James...how old is he and is he more domineering or submissive?))

Harcle nodded a few times as the explanations of skills came through, looking thoughtful. "Ah-ah. No side conversations," he warned, emerald eyes narrowing. "I might think you're planning to mutiny..." He made a quick upwards motion with his blade.

"Arms up in the air. High where I can see your hands. And get in an orderly line in front of me." As he spoke, other pirates began to crowd around the new recruits, helping to jostle them into a proper line. The way the captain was staring at the pirates, ever-so closely, seemed to divert them from any thoughts of touching the fresh meat inappropriately.

(lets try submissive and 19.)

Lilly sighed submitting and throwing her hands up in the air. Being a normal person was so degrading. She looked at James for help on what to do. When the other pirates got close to her she immediatly stepped forward to a line. She was not risking anyone touching her in a way that might cause them to embarrass her. She had never even been around men before and she was already uncomfortable.

James lifted his hands into the air and took the spot next to Lilly. He smiled reassuringly at her. He did not say anything but he put his hand on her shoulder on his way up to the air. He wanted to make sure that she was comfortable.

((My character will be a nineteen year-old seke, then. He's a mix of dominance and submission, so he should be interesting to play around with. :3))

Harcle assessed the recruits for a long moment before sighing and nodding. He crooked a finger towards James. "Come here. Seeing as you claim you can navigate, I'll have you work with our own navigator," he said, simply. "We recently lost our old navigator, and our current one is a novice...the apprentice that had been training under him." Two of the bigger pirates surrounding the four crew members backed off, intending to escort James to this navigator.

"As for the rest of you...do you have any skills I should know about? And which would you be better at, working on deck or working down below in the kitchen and cleaning rooms?"

Lilly watched them lead James away and sighed. "I can read really well and speak multiple languages along with being very well with diplomacy not that pirates have a need for diplomacy." She kept her eyes down and spoke in a very low voice. She was afraid she would get stabbed for just mentioning this.

James nodded giving Lillys hand a kiss as he was led away. He stared at the pirates around him. Hopefully this would work out well. As a navigator he would be able be very much in charge of this ship. He would be able to assist them in getting the poor girl to a safe spot. Navigators were very important. First place they docked he would get that girl off of this ship. Laura must have been a stow away. She did not even belong here.

The young captain made a huffing sound, discontented with that answer. "Multiple languages might help at some point...but it won't earn you a higher place in the crew in most cases. I'll have you work on the deck for now, see what you can do."

He suddenly glanced around at his crowding crew, looking firm. "Seeing as she's being put to work, if I see anyone touching her and interfering with her work, I'll run my sword through the culprit..." Harcle shifted where he stood, turning around. "Come. Let's take you to the cells. Until I learn to trust you, you'll be locked in the cells unless I put you to work." He strolled back onto his ship, hopping deftly over the small space between the ships. His crew began to usher the three remaining recruits after him.

The two middle-aged, burly pirates led James around towards the front of the ship and into the cabin. Inside the cabin it was warm and cozy. There was a young man sitting at the table in the middle of the room, feverishly going over what looked like a possible treasure map. There were navigational supplies scattered all across the room.

He looked up when the pirates entered--his eyes were a striking shade of violet. "This one's new meat," one of the pirates stated, giving James a somewhat gentle shove forward. "Has navigation skills, he claims. Take 'im." They left without another word.

The young man gave James a stern glance and then sighed. He looked tired, haggard...like he'd been working for days on end. "...Come on and show me your skills, then. My name is Rand."

Lilly went along with the others. She sighed. It figured she would not have any useful skills. At least she did not have to worry about others messing with her. She had a feeling that the captain was a very strict captain and did not tolerate any misbehaving when it came to his crew. She figured the crew would be very loyal to the captain. She walked into a cell and waited to see if she would be here alone or if she would be stuck with the other guys.

Staring at the young man James smiled. He had dark eyes and was very attractive. James did not know why but he had a tendency to fall for males quicker than females. He put his hand out to him. "Name is James. What seems to be the problem here?" He looked at the table and the map.

There were ten cells below deck, one of which was occupied by what looked like a very miffed crew member who had probably misbehaved. It wasn't easy to tell if this crew member was male or female, considering her or she was laying face-down on the cell's cot and napping.

Harcle placed the three crew members into different cells, locking them up at once. "For today, you will stay down here unless I need you," he said, simply, as the rest of his crew headed back up deck. "I'll have someone bring you food to eat once supper rolls around. Don't try anything funny. And get some rest."

He promptly turned and headed back up onto the deck. One of the pirates that was still down below deck shook his head and sighed, muttering something about not liking being treated like a child as he headed back up to the deck.

Rand didn't take his offered hand. He looked irritable and wasn't in the best of moods. "I'm trying to figure out where this treasure is supposed to be located..." he muttered, staring at the map like it was some kind of disease-ridden vermin. "It's off the coast of some island in the area, supposedly, but I don't know what island it is."

Lilly sat down on a cot and looked at the other prisoners. She would guess she would be down here fora while. Perhaps he might find some use for her. She figured it was ok as long as he did not figure out her true identity. The other people had lain down and went to sleep. She pulled off her wig and began to run her fingers through her hair. Perhaps this was as good a time as any to fix it before it got knotted up from being under a wig.

James looked at the map the guy was studying. It looked familiar. "DO you have a large map of the known waters. If you show it to me I am pretty sure I can tell you where the island is located."

The captain left his prisoners to rest for a while. He would not force them to work when they weren't at their best--that could only spell trouble for the crew. It honestly wasn't worth it...not yet, anyway.

"Hm? Ah, somewhere...somewhere..." Rand rose from his seat, somewhat unsteadily, and began to dig around the room through the various piles of gear. "Somewhere...I don't know where he kept all of his things, see. He died so suddenly. I haven't been apprenticing for very long--only a few months."

James looked in a drawer and pulled out a beaten map. He laid it on the table next to the smaller treasure map.
"Ah. Here it is. It is an island located off the coast of africa. It is called Dantes peak. It is supposed to have an active volcano there. It seems like it would be very dangerous." He wondered if Laura were ok. "Do you know where the captain puts new recruits captured from other ships?"

"The dungeon, at least for a day," Rand grumbled, irritated that he hadn't recognized the location of that treasure. He was all flustered and exhausted...the bags under his eyes hinted that he probably hadn't slept in days. "We'll have to set sail for there, next...I'll need...to plot a course..." He began to rustle out a piece of charcoal and a small sheet of parchment, to start taking notes on possible routes...but there was a problem.

He was exhausted...he probably wasn't going to be much help with this task until he got rest.

Jame smiled at him. "Go lay down I will plot the course and get us there. I know more about these waters than most people because I have sailed em since I was ten. I do not mind." He got the sextant and compass. Then taking the big chart and the small map he sat down in the chair and began to trace the route that would get them there the easiest.
