Princess of Asgarnia
She is quiet and meek normally. She will defend herself if it is called for though. She is tough with a sword but worse with a bow and arrow.

It was a dark night in the castle of Fairfax. Prince Gajar Lamenos stared at the moon from his balcony.

"The princess of Asgarnia has been rumored to be a beauty."

The voice of his father rang in his head. "Rumored to be beautiful huh. Oh father, don't you already have plenty of beautiful wives." He muttered to himself. But the Demon King wanted HER right now. Gajar knew that his father always got what he wanted. "I must prepare." He turned and went back into his room. His father had ordered him to capture the princess, and bring her back to the castle. Gajar thought this was bothersome, but it was orders from his father. He had to oblige.

He got dressed in a hooded cloak, with holes in the back so that his wings could fit through. The clock had belt buckles, and chains to give it a more gothic feel. "Here I come Princess."

Lia wandered around for a bit in the garden. It was inside the palace walls so even this late it was plenty safe for her. She perfered not to have an escort and since there were not wars at the moment she was safe as could be inside her castle. She wandered among the rose bushes. A couple seemed wilting so she would have to let the royal gardener know. As she walked she found a bench and took a seat. It was a lovely night and she just wanted to stare at the moon. She smiled as she looked around her. There was a walkway leading to this spot. It was surrounded by hedges kept neat by the gardener. On either side of the entrance were lillys. She did so love lillys.

Like a shadow, Gajar moved swift and fast. His cloak wagged violently in the wind. He jumped over the village houses quietly, trying to not disturb the villagers that slept inside. As he was making his way towards the castle of the Princess. He wondered what she looked like. Would her rumored beauty be true. Or would it have all been a lie. If it was a lie his father would be outraged. He had better luck finding someone else beautiful then get an ear full of bringing a maiden with a face not so appealing to him.

He jumped over the castle walls to the starting entrance of the garden. He could sense movement at the other side of the garden. He began walking with a fast, but steady pace. He followed a small path that led to the middle of the garden.

There was someone sitting on a nearby bench. At least her dress is pretty. He thought since her face was turned away from him. Flower's surrounded the two, and his footsteps couldn't be heard as he approached her. "Forgive me." He whispered into her ear, and looked into her eyes. Their eyes locked until hers slowly closed. One of the specialties of being a demon was that he had strange powers.

Gajar picked the princess up, and started to make his way toward his Father's castle.

Lia heard a whisper. She frowned looking towards the sound. Suddenly she was looking into someones eyes and then blackness. What had happened? As consiousness slowly came back she realized she was being carried. There were woods all around her so they were no longer in the villiage. She did not move only looked around. She could not see anything familiar. She tried to prop herself up because she was tossed over his shoulder so it was hard to see much of anything. She managed to get up some and noticed the villiage lights fading in the distance.

Now here was the difference between Lia and most other girls. She did not scream or freak out she looked at her captor a moment and said "Would you mind letting me walk or holding me differently. This is most uncomfortable." She would not fight what was happening. She would accept it and move on.

Gajar stopped running once he heard her request. It wasn't like it was against the rules to switch the way she was being carried. So without a word spoken, he changed the way he carried her to the 'Princess' position. After that, he continued to run. He didn't look to see her expression, he just continued his way toward the castle.

Gajar was thinking how his father would be pleased. This Princess was beautiful. The Rumors where true.

He made various turns in the forest paths. He made so many that it would be hard for her to memorize it all. ". . ." Gajar stopped at the Castle Gates of his father. Would he want the princess to be wide awake, or would he want her to be fast asleep when he gave her to him. But, that wasn't one of the orders, so he just walked the whole way into the castle.

"Have you brought her?"

Gajar's father asked as he noticed the throne room doors opening. He nodded as he walked closer to his father, he showed the Princess.

The Demon King was surrounded by eight women, the most fair. They seemed not afraid, but stuck up. You see, to let them stay in the Castle, the king offered them jewelery. Power. And all the things they would want so that he didn't have to deal with their whining.

Lia tried to watch where they were heading but could not keep up with it. It seemed like such a long trip and she was sure she would have bruises all over her body by the time they got to wherever they were going. Finally she saw some gates of a large castle. She smiled. FInally she could stand on her own two feet. Hearing a deep voice she saw a demon king and frowned looking at the pretty girls all around them. They seemed happy enough.

She looked back at the guy who was carrying her with a frown. "Gonna explain whats going on or am I supposed to just stay confused?"

Gajar put to princess down, but didn't reply to her. He just stared at his father. Waiting for an order.

"Explain to her."

Gajar nodded, before turning to the princess. Distress in his eyes as he explained. "My Father...Wants to marry you." He stated simply. He felt bad for the Princess. But then he thought that she would enjoy the jewels that his father would give her. "My father, can give you jewelery, gold, power, anything you want really. But if you don't accept his offer--" Gajar glanced over to his father, who held up his hand for Gajar to stop speaking.

"You'd be a fool not to accept his offer girl."

One of the King's wives said, with a sly smile on her face. "...So..." They awaited for her reply.

Lia stared at the demon and the obviously brainwashed and spoiled girls. "There is no way in hell." That was all she said and that was all she needed to say. They could kill her or torture her but the answer was no. SHe would not marry a demon. As a child her best friend had been an angel. SHe was such a sweet person and Lia strived to achieve this but knew she had to be perfect to ever be granted this. Her angel had left her because of certain circumstances and Lia had craved for her to come back but knew she probably would not. She sighed. That was her best friend.

Gajar, closed his eye. This was what he was scared of. He re-opened his eye, and looked over to his father. Who, was disappointed also.

"Hmph, Foolish girl."

"Throw her in the dungeon! Maybe if she stays there for a few days, she will come to her senses."

Gajar let out a sigh, and muttered under his breath. "Yes father." He grabbed the girl by her arm, and started dragging her away. He knew, of course, if after a few days she still didn't want to become his father's bride. Then. There where other means to make her accept.

Lia followed the demon pulling her arm and stared at him. "How can you just sit around and let your father do these awful things?" She could not understand how someone could be so submissive even to a parent who kidnapped innocent people and forced them to do what they wanted. Her parents had to start paying slaves because of Lia. She did not want to be some demons bride forced to submit to his lustful wants. Besides it looked as if he had plenty of wives to spare.

"He's my father. Why shouldn't I obey his commands?" Gajar replied, but didn't look back to tell it to her face. "Even if I did disagree with what he is doing. What could I do? Is he much more powerful then me, and much more wiser when it comes to combat." He let out a sigh. What was he suppose to do? "It was unwise to reject him Princess. You'll still be his wife no matter what. It will just be...More hard on you the longer you keep fighting back. More painful."

They went down some steps. Getting closer, and closer to the dungeon.

She stared at him curiously for a moment. "I will not marry him. He can torture and try to kill me but I would rather die than marry him. I do not care for demons personally even though I have never met one and there is no way that I would just say ok lets get married to someone I did not even know." She was correct in saying this. She was raised with high moral standards. She was taught that a man and woman must court before agreeing to get into a relationship. She was taught that her chastity was to be cherished. "Besides how many wives does one person need?"

"He will not kill you." Gajar stopped walked once he reached the bottom of the steps, then he looked over to the girl. "He doesn't want to kill you. He wants to marry you, and how can you marry someone who is dead?" He let out a sigh. "And, you will marry wither you like it or not. But because you offended him, you will have to stay in the dungeon, rather then staying in a nice room." He then turned, and continued to walk. "Its not like he needs you. He just wants you."

He opened up a door that lead to a cell, and he gently pushed her in. He closed the door, and locked it. "You can hate me as much as you want. But just know I'm following orders."

She stood by the door and put her hands on the bars looking at him. "I do not hate you. How could I hate someone whose so obedient to his father he does anything he is told? I admire you. I try to change my parents way of thinking. I wish I could be more like you. If I obeyed my parents without question they would be happier." She gave him a smile and sat down on the small little cot in the room. "Its not that bad of a place. Perhaps it would teach me how some normal people live and I will feel better knowing that." She smiled at him. "Thank you."

Gajar gave a light blush at his words. No one has ever said that to him before. It was a shame that she had to be here. But then he came to the conclusion that she was trying to deceive him with kindness. "Those words won't make life any better in this cell. My father will make me bring you food that we give to the dogs. It will not be pleasant." He turned, his back facing her. "If you ask for forgiveness of your rude behavior to my father. He might let you stay at a better place. With better food."

She looked at him a moment. First he seemed pleased with her words and now he acted like she was being mean. "I apologize if I was rude but I will not marry him. You can tell him I apologize if I was being rude. I will not consent to be his bride though. I do mean it. I am happy that I have an opportunity to be here and learn how others live. Perhaps I will go home and be a better person from it."

Gajar felt like she was the oddest person that he had ever met. I mean, she refused Power, and wealth. What ever else could a mere mortal want? Gajar felt bad for her. She was trying so hard not to get married to his father. But he felt as if her trying was futile. "Rejecting his offer of marriage was a huge insult Princess. Even if you did not mean to be rude, but you rejecting the King's offer to you, was what brought you down to this cell." He paused for a moment. Before continuing. "And...I don't think you will be going home."

"I have faith that I will. I appreciate your concern and kindness. Please tell your father that I wish him the best but marriage is not an option." She laid down on the cot and closed her eyes. In her mind she was back in her garden. She was with her friends and she was happy. But in reality she was a prisoner. Although she was not unhappy this was not a place she wanted to be.

Gajar let out a sigh, and then vanished into the shadows.

"Father, I know you're upset. But I do not lie, she does not want to marry you. Not for Jewels nor power. She did wish you a good marriage though." Gajar flinched as his father pounded his fist into the arm rest.

"I want her to marry me!"

He shouted, kind of acting like a little spoiled rotten kid.

"My King, Remember. You could always do That."

One of the Wives suggested that. That was hypmotysum ((No clue how to spell that sorry)). The king was a demon with special powers. Powers that can control the shadows. Powers that could control the mind. Gajar let out a sigh. But there was nothing he could do. If it was what the King wished then, so be it.

"I will consider it. All of you, begone."

They all left the throne room.

She lay down on the cot thinking. She was home and safe. Everyone loved Lia. She was a kind girl who treated everyone with respect. She felt safe and happy. She imagined life was so much easier for her. As she lay there she wondered what would happen next? Who knew in a place like this. She sighed. She was bored already but at least she knew something she had never known before. She knew what it was like to be poor. This was an experience she would never give up.

Gajar paced back and forth in his room. It would be a pity for this girl to be brainwashed. He didn't really want that. But if her mind was empty, then the Demon King could marry her without her struggling, or complaining. She would be another collection to the King's trophies. The ninth trophy. "Why, am I worrying?" He wondered a loud. He let out a small sigh, before he started to leave the room. "I'm just going to check on her, that would be alright...Right?"

The Demon Prince went down to the dungeon. He looked into the cell to see what she was doing. Though, he didn't speak a word.

Hearing someone come down Lia looked up and smiled as she recognized the demon from before. "So good news or bad?" She tried to keep her happy mood up but judging from his face this was not good news he had for her. She kept the smile anyways. She was sure she could come up with some way out of any bad news he had for her. It could not be that bad could it?

"I have the same news as before. You're getting married." Gajar stated. "But it's your choice whither it'd be a happy marriage or not. If you go along with it, then you'll get a good place to sleep, and nice food. But if you don't...Then..." He didn't continue. "I won't tell you what will happen if you don't go along with it. You won't die though. It'll be worse."
