The two soon departed from the unnamed man but Anier found that after their meeting he wanted to know more about them. It seemed that the band of men that had come through were only doing just that. . . passing through. They stayed in the city for a day or so and went further inland in pursuit of their purpose apparently. They days thereafter were stagnant. He continued to spend the next few weeks in the company of Siona whenever they could meet and life resumed as it always had. This cesspit of a city, in his eyes, was were he would live and die without even having a chance to find his own way but his mouth made it seem like he still carried some glimmer of hope.
-------
Rising as he always did, just before the sun rose above the horizon, Anier got up and went to take a dip in a nearby lake outside of town. It was actually quite the walk but at least he would be clean and able to see what his mesmerizing golden brown skin looked like once more. After the travelling unit had left, the young elf had taken to exploring the borders outside the city which consisted of mainly a woodland forest. He hadn't travelled too far from the city since he only had a small knife for protection, but he soon found that most of the animals avoided contact with him.
One day while he was out exploring a new area of the forest that he was unfamiliar with, the boy came across a freshwater lake. It wasn't overly large but it was large enough that he was afraid to go too far in. After finding it, he began taking baths and teaching himself to swim in it as well. Once he himself had memorized how to get there and learned how to swim he told Siona about it and invited her to join him when she had enough time to make there since it was far enough that the walk there and back to the city could take almost a quarter of the day.
(not exactly sure where I wanna go with this but it'll all come together somehow I suppose lol. . . sorry for the stinkiness of my post  )
