High in the sky, the moon shone down a ghostly light down apon the modern down town New york. It was cold, the pavement having a slight layer of sleet apon it. It was late at night as some were asleep but most were still awake in the place were no one sleeps. There have been rumors for years about there being underground covens of real vampires. Hardly anyone belived it, yet in this case it has been proven to be true by few who have survived to tell the tale. which were very few...

A major event would be fast approching both worlds of the immortal and human kind alike. Every twenty five thousand years, a new coven leader is choosen which is called the Red Dawn. Many of the vampire breed hope to take part in this event, however most do not survive or forfit. The event being 3 days away, the vampire ranks of the modern world are tense. One such vampire by the name of Kathryn had her eye on the new place as the area fives spot of control.

On this peaceful night, Kathryn was walking down a darkened ally way. She was tracking a particular indivual who would help her get into the event. It was hard to get into the event, usually having to kill to obtain a garenteed spot. Kathryn had Radioactive bright ice blue eyes, Dark wavy brown hair and pale skin. Wearing chunky heel combat boots, leather pants that hugged her hipps, and a black corset. Her hands were covered by a pair of fingerless gloves, and on her back she carried two fighting swords.

Still walking down the ally way, she had remembered her target coming down this alleyway in particular. Yet the indivual seemed to had dissapeared. Growling softly she then leaned against the wall. She had'nt fed in days, and it was starting to take its toll. She hoped she could find a bite to eat, litterly... Casting her gaze upward towards the moon, she smirked knowing in 3 days that moon would turn red, and the battle for the new coven leader would begin. It made her very excited. She had trained her whole life for this event. She would not let all these thousands of years go to waste!

Wandering the streets of New York with his trusty Walther PPK, was Lucius, an insomniac college student. His black hair was tied into a messy braid, falling to mid back, and his hazel eyes darted around the street in worry. He adjusted his feathered jacket, fingers brushing up comfortably against the metal of the gun.

It may not have been loaded, but the fact it was there as a scare tactic did soften his fears. There had been many attacks on NYU campus, students randomly dropping unconcious with a sufficent lack of blood. If that wasn't freaky, Lucius wasn't sure what was. It sounded like something out of a horror book or something.

He glanced up at the moon, briefly thanking it for its light. The street lamps around here weren't very effective, but the moon at least let him spot something if anything at all. Spotting an alleyway, Lucius' nerves go on edge. Gripping the gun tightly in his pianist fingers he walked passed and hoped nothing dangerous lurked inside.

Kathryn was lost in her thougnts for a moment, until she sensed Lucius. Her eyes gave off a soft glow as she could smell him, her blood lust rising. Smirking slyly, Kathryn stood there in the shadows. Hoping she would'nt have to chase him down, and rather him come to her, she waited for her preys next move. Bearing her fangs and her nails growing sharp tips, she licked her lips and hoped for good luck with this one. Even though she never had a hard time getting a meal before.

While she waited, she paid close attention to his movements, and caught a glint of silver. Hoping it was'nt loaded, she got ready to defend her self need be this man be a vampire hunter. Of which they were scarce usually since the rumors of her kinds existance were very rarely bellived or taken seriously.

Lucius paused, the hair on the back of his neck bristling. His sixth sense as he liked to call it was warning him. Something was up. Once again he gave a paranoid survey of the area, spotting the street lamp only a few steps away. He hurried over, wincing mentally at the echo of his sneakers in the otherwise quiet area. He withdrew the gun, holding it correctly from years of training.

Nibbling his bottom lip, he faintly wished he thought to carry a crossbow or even a throwing knife. The gun was something knew, and sure as hell he wasn't as comfortable with the more 'modern' ways of distance weaponry. Stupid snotty private schools only focusing on archery, what the heck?

He cleared his throat, a baritone echoing just as loud as his footsteps despite his reluctance. "Who is there?" He took a calming breath. "I know you're out there!"

" Oh, just.. me..." She breathed, Dissapointed that her prey had seemingly noticed her, she emerged from the ally way. With swiftness that is unseen from the human eye, she appeared behind him.

"hmm thats not really loaded is it?" she cooed, her blue eyes glowing softly. "I see the safty is on. Silly boy..." She smirked as she stood there waiting for his reaction, prepared for battle, happen if he had any tricks up his sleeve. Trailing a clawed hand down the side of his neck feeling his pulse under her fingers made her smile. " so what brings you out on a night like this? Hmm?" she asked Lucius cooly.

"Crap," Lucius breathed. He was definitely dealing with something supernatural here. That woman moved way too fast for anything considered normal. And she knew the gun wasn't loaded. Lucius would have continued cursing up a storm, at least mentally, but when the woman ran a claw/nail down his neck, it weirded him out. The talon-like nail cemented the idea of the unnatural even moreso in his mind.

What the heck is going on? He wondered. What is she? If he turned his head slightly, he could swear her eyes glowed, what he could see of her eyes anyway. He lowered the gun, the thought of even putting it back into the holster crossed his mind. The logical part of his mind reminded him the thing/girl/thing had asked him a question.

"I-I'm an insomniac. Wandering the streets normally stresses me out so much I can go back to the dorm and fall asleep right away." Being honest was his best bet. If she/it/whatever was something unnatural, who knew what it was aware of? For all he knew, she could have been stalking him for a while and he only just caught onto it. And he cursed once more.

Seeing that Lucius lowered his gun, she saw that her senses were right. She smirked.

"An Insominac? hmmm Seems we might have alittle in commen then... You could say I am that too, along with many other things..."

She breathed taking in his scent. yup he was a human for sure. The smell of fear reaked off him. Looking around her, she noticed they were in the open. Somehow she felt like they were'nt alone. She narrowed her eyes, not willing to part with her soon to become meal. She looked around them, the only spot out of sight a another ally way. But how to get him to it and out of sight now?

He began his hardest to pick apart her words. Also an insomniac, so that lowered the possible creatures to... two hundred? Lucius would have shook his head in despair, but the almost unnoticible tensing of his possessor kept his normally ADD-like attention span focused on the current predicament.

Sure Lucius was terrified, but part of his mind contemplated the idea of her being worried. But why? What was nearby that was freaking her out so much that she, as a predator, would make a slip up as tensing? And did she actually tense? Lucius hated his mind, over analyzing everything to the point he second guessed himself into confusion.

But that small, stupid part of his mind, the part he had been trying to exterminate for eons spoke up, "What's wrong?" It even had the mind to hiss, trying to not speak to loudly. Eyes glanced up, toward the street lamp. Was that the problem? Too easily visible? That sent Lucius on another wave of thoughts and possibilities.

Eryn walked slowly, and relaxly looking all the way through the trees and she smile and talk to herself.
""I really hate this weather. Cold, really-really make me sick!"
Then Eryn smell a really tasty blood, and she run faster to the smell.

Seeing that her prey noticed her tense made her alittle angry. She could feel Eryn approching and did'nt like it. She suddenly grabbed Lucius by the waist, pulling him quickly into the ally way away from the approching Eryn. "God damnit..." she hissed. She'd have to make this fast. Even though she did enjoy playing with her food first. 'Guess it can't be helped...' She thought. She'd deal with the other vampire later. Looking at Lucius, her eyes glowed again, using her glamour on him to make him stand still. "Relax..." She breathed looking at him.

Eryn arrived and see that her victims hold the boy.
Then she laughing to what she saw, and ask the boy.
"So, darling... What's your name?"

Lucius was torn. Listen to the woman thing that held him captive, or respond to the other woman...thing. Since when was there two of them? If Lucius had anxiety attacks, now would be the time for it to kick in. Fudge monkeys.

He retained enough motor skills to put away his gun, and he hoped maybe the two things would be distracted enough to forget about him. But how it was working out, he doubted it. The original lady probably wanted to eat him and the other probably either wanted to save him (he scoffed) or steal him to eat Lucius herself.

I always knew I shouldn't walk around at night, and look at where it got me. He cleared his throat, and against his self-protecting instincts lowered his gaze. Maybe if he didn't look them in the eyes they couldn't effect him... or something. "What...What is going on?"

kathryn growled seeing that it was too late and that Eryn had followed them. Pushing Lucius aside, she stepped foward towards Eryn. "thats no concern to you...Finders keepers!" She hissed stepping infront of Lucius. "Hmmm... So are you going to compeat in The Red dawn?" She asked Eryn, a smirk curling on her lips. She was alittle weak, but she thought she could take Eryn.

"Listen dear, i'm not going to fight you. I only want to save the boy..."
Eryn walked forward approaching Kathryn and smile charmly.
"By the way, what is Red Dawn? Oh, where's my pardon. My name is Eryn Screamer. What 'bout yours dear boy?"

Kathryn scoffed. "You dont KNOW? humph. Some Creature of the night you are!" Seeing the other vampire approch, Kathryn smirked. This would prove interesting. " Its the battle for the new coven leader of Area Five. You stupid Leech, and sorry but I wont let that happen... YOU saving HIM? humph, hardly..." She then drew her double fighting swords and stepped forward. "I'm not letting him go without a fight. Got it?" She said alittle bit pissed off the nerve of a vampire to save a human. They were just cattle to her anyways. Rushing Erym, she prepared to strike her in the throat.

"Oh dear, you are so hard. Okay, so i don't have any choice then..."
Eryn drew her Schyte and hold it with her both hands.
And parrying Kathryn strike. Then Eryn jump over her head and Eryn in behind Kathryn.

Lucius' eyes widened, propelling himself back towards one of the walls in the alleyway. Seriously? Creatures of the night? Leech? The correct thought processes shot in a certain order to draw the conclusion: they have to be vampires. Vampires. Not just one, TWO! Two vampires, fighting over him! Part of him wanted to feel important, because apparently something about him had both the vampires fighting over him, and the other part kept stating that the two creatures only want to eat him.

The new vampire, her name was Eryn, and she claimed she wanted to save him. But, didn't some of those vampire books say that if they know your name they can control you? He cursed the fact he never was into the whole vampire fandom thing.

"Lucius," he murmured, his insomniac caused insanity driving him to tell at least Eryn his name. "It's Lucius." And what the heck was this about a Red Dawn? Just the phrase reminded him of something from Lord of the Rings.

Turning around Kathryn growled and sliced at Eryn again. Dashing foward at a quick speed. She wondered why on earth would this vampire be wanting to save the human? Probably just to feed off him herself. Either way, she was'nt going to loose nor loose her meal. Clashing her swords with Eryn's weapon, She growled looking into her opponets eyes. "Yeah right like you dont know about the Red dawn! Unless you are just a fledgling!" She yelled a satisfied smile on her face.

"Hehehe, Lucius huh? Good names for a super ordinary boy like you. Wait won't ya, i have to defeat this rude vampires to save you."
"I'm sorry for not knowing a RED DAWN! Who want to be a blood seeking like you!"
Eryn put her schyte back on her back and dropped her knees. Her tears begin dropping through her cheek.

Stopping before her, Kathryn stopped her blade before the vampires throat. " Yeah better be sorry, you weakling!" She hissed. "Now get out of my way you pest!" She spat and then pushed the vampire aside and made her way over to Lucius. "Hmm so thats your name huh?" she asked a smile curling on her lips. Coming close to him, she begun to use her glamour once more on him.

Lucius' last thought before being overtaken by glimmer was a stream of curse words. He felt as if the vampire was peering into his soul, and despite feeling exposed, he was warm and fluffy. He could honestly not have a care in the world. He relaxed, slumping slightly against the brick, eyes falling half-lidded. "Yeah," he whispered. "Lucius..." He felt like his words were slurred, everything seemed so much slower, and much less threatening.

Satisfied by the fact her prey was now paralized by her Glamour, she held him fast and beared her fangs. Bitting into his neck, she begun to feed. Moments later she grinned, not having killed him, she drained him to the point of unconciousness, and let him slide to the ground. "Thanks" she cooed, then went on her way to find more sources of how to get into the Red Dawn.
