In the year 4000, a major company called Skynet was founded by a group of people that consisted of several different races. These group of people had been traveling across from one planet after another as they had tried to show other races that different beings could live together without violence. Nearly each time they had tried to convince the different races of each planet however, they had always come to a failure and were driven off from the planet. The original purpose of Skynet was to create a humongous space station that was built to protect those who believed that different races were able to live together in harmony. From within the space station, the area can be viewed to be as though someone were walking on a planet's surface from within a giant city. Overhead would be the sky that would constantly change to normal weather patterns and following day to night normally as well. Skynet was soon very well known as a safe haven to those who were banished from their original home planet; however this did not mean that the space station did not have it's own laws to protect it's citizens. Violence such as murder were still considered a crime as those who had violated the station's laws were immediately placed into prison for trial and either sent for certain periods of time in prison, life in prison, forced to leave the station or at rare times; death.
As time went on, the many other races that refused to accept having different races living among each other had soon found out about Skynet and became enraged at the fact that there was a company out there that was making a safe haven for such people. Certain planets had began creating their own organizations as a few had become named after Corpus for their continuous and powerful use of technology while others were named as Grineer for their decision in using soldiers with powerful armors and ranged weaponry. At first, Skynet had tried to convince these groups that they were not trying to do any harm but it was all futile pleas as each group councilors that were brought to the planets were immediately shot down without mercy. It was only a matter of time that Skynet had become tired of these threats as many citizens along with other workers of Skynet had began to join the cause against these groups of people; with this, many different super solider like warriors were created. Each person that signed up to help against these threats were given an exoskeleton that was named as Warframe. Some races which didn't have powers of their own were given powers from the exoskeleton and those who had powers had their own enhanced greatly thanks to the suit.
After several generations after generation of continuous fighting against these two groups. On the side, no one had realized it but due to the intense fighting that going on over and over again; the Grineer and Corpus had began to develop illness from their grudge against the people of Skynet and soon enough beginning to even fear the Warframe. The main illness that had began to infect everyone was known as the Technocyte Virus, it caused those who were alive but as well as dead corpses to grow strange bulges all over their bodies till the point that they no longer even looked like what they once were. Their weapons being infected as well caused them to shoot strange greenish and bluish bullets along with those who used other weapons began to become much more powerful. When this virus had began to spread more and more; those infected with the virus saw no one other than others who were infected with the virus as an ally. Even those who wore the warframe had trouble defeating these creatures but they still fought back and to this day try to continue to help the Corpus and Grineer while defending themselves against them at the same time. All at the same time on the side, Skynet tries to still unite the races to live together in harmony in the end.
