The A.I. neared her destination, which was a very pristine building which was marked with a Police Station near the top. Raine tried to be inconspicuous as she entered; it was very odd to have a human make any sort of movement towards this building. Usually when they did it was because they were under arrest, the human kind knew better than to launch a complaint on even each other for it would be ignored quite blatantly. Thinking about the odd looks she might acquire if noticed the female looked around nonchalantly before entering the establishment.

Once inside her need to not be noticed disappeared and she walked with a businesslike professional heir. She welcomed a few Hellos’ but never broke into full conversation with anyone. After clocking in the female unit headed towards the main office where she was to check in to her boss before being let out on the streets again. As far as jobs went Raine figured she had a pretty cushioned one, she was paid in order to walk the streets most of the day and occasionally go on the hunt which she generally enjoyed. The only thing she disliked about it was the skin she was in and the fact that she had to deal with everything the humans did as far as emotions went. Of course she was considerably happier than she had been during the war where all she had known was rage, blood, and sleep. As athletic as the A.I. was, she wasn’t much for ruthless violence, too many nightmares left behind, for everyone.

“Raine!” A big booming mechanical voice rang out from behind a door as the woman opened it. “How are you this morning?”

“Moderately drowsy and heat levels have slowed my gears down by ten percent.”

“You don’t have to be so technical all the time you know.” Raine shrugged. Her boss was a particularly short robot. He was an older unit; he had been made shortly before the war broke out, as an accountant in a police station. Naturally he had been put into shut down when everything turned. His cogs were rusted and he had very large spectacles that were obviously much newer than he was, both of his optical slats were very old and slightly rusted over.
