"Simply beautiful," said a tall young woman with long, wavy crimson hair and exotic gray eyes. She ran her fingers over the fabric that had potential to be a most amazing gown. The merchant stared at her in awe. The young man had no idea what he really was looking at. Most vampires were painstakingly beautiful and some humans had a hard time staying focused around them. Her dark blue gown made of silk and silver thread and a flattering corset didn't help the man's focus the least bit.

'Poor fool,' thought Helen as she reached for her pouch to take out some gold to pay the man with. 'If I asked him to walk me home, he'd drop his fabric stand in an instant.' She pondered this idea for a moment, but then dismissed it. She fed yesterday and was fine for a little while longer. And the young man sold high quality fabrics which were hard to find during these times. She handed him the money and he put the fabric in a long, slim square box. Smiling and thanking the man, she stepped away from his stand and turned around. The marketplace wasn't as full as it usually was, which she preferred.

Helen quickly left the market and caught a climpse of another clan member, Alana. 'Visiting the village once again,' she thought. Alana had been gone from the castle a lot recently. Helen felt bad that Alana never liked being a vampire and was even feeding off the blood of animals, but Helen embraced her vampirism, even though it brought her extreme boredom at times. Because all a vampire has is time. That's why Helen picked up dress making. It was a nice way to spend her time, and she wore almost everything she created. Her room was completely filled with dresses and fabrics. 'Maybe if Alana found a hobby, she would enjoy it more,' Helen thought. 'Or maybe if she tasted human blood.' Drinking the blood of a human was like drinking wine made in heaven.

The crimson haired vampire left the village with her box of fabric and began the long journey back to the castle. She wanted to walk this time and enjoy the view. All a vampire had was time, right?
