Helen grabbed the dead cat by the neck and followed Alana out of the inn. She threw the corpse into a small alley where hopefully it could decay in peace, or be eaten by another animal.
She gave Alana the "you know better than that" look a parent might give their child, but didn't stop as she had done and began walking to the forest. "Alana, we have to follow that woman. She saw what you did," she called over her shoulder and then disappeared into the darkness of the forest. The scent the woman left behind was sticking in the air, she wasn't that far ahead.
