Ru Li looked at the coins she had returned and instead just pushed one back towards her, putting the other one in his pocket. He let the two foxes talk to one another, not listening in on their conversation; he closed his eyes and blotted out the sound of their voices, letting himself drift away into a light, uneasy sleep.
