"Dude I was just joking," Ripley said, mentally rolling his eyes. Who needed to chill exactly? "I didn't mean to offend you." He wasn't sure of the tone that he used, other than a dry one but he hadn't thought it would have so easily ticked off James. Perhaps it was because it was the morning or because Raven had already given him shit for it (and yet James took it out on him? Pfft, what a double standard!). Well whatever the reason was, it didn't seem like James would stick around to further be offended by him or listen to Ripley's clarification as the older boy decided to go with Li to the grocery store. Personally Ripley didn't want to go. He didn't feel like being well, social in the morning. He'd rather stay inside and finish his scratch board art of the Statue of Liberty. His studio art class had an assignment to draw famous landmarks in the U.S. He was adding his own spin of course. Why "just" scratch in the Statue of Liberty when you could do that and draw the Cloverfield monster attacking the still figure.
