Aeleis raised a hand to shield her eyes from the sun as she looked over the ravine, taking a moment to calculate just how she would manage this climb. She knew she had little time to accomplish the task she'd set out to attempt, and didn't want any of it wasted on failure. Soon, she knew, her father would send for her, and after having stolen a horse from the stables to even leave town, she doubted she'd be allowed the chance to climb a rock face to try pulling a staff from some old stone. Such was simply not a lady-like thing to do.
Shaking her head at the thought, Aeleis hopped gracefully down from her horse's saddle, tying its reins to a nearby tree as she approached the ravine to begin climbing. It was a difficult trial, to say the least, and in a dress she supposed she looked rather foolish. After quite some time, she managed her way to the top, heaving herself up over the edge, then standing. Taking a moment to observe the others gathered about, the group of boys and the lone man, she focused on the stone. "Three weapons left..." she murmured. Looks like one has been unsheathed.
Encouraged that this was not impossible, she approached and took a deep breath before lifting her hands to grasp the length of the staff firmly. Then, with a slight tug, it slipped right out and into her eager hands. The ease of the task surprised her, shock taking over her facial features for a moment before she smiled. Freedom was literally within her grasp, and she could not be happier.
