The highest Seraphim in heaven, the voice of God himself, was worried about the new youngling, that kept developing at an outstanding rate. ((PS, I don't think the seraph will be important in the beginning, so I'm not developing him for now)) In fact, he was scared, because only one before him had done the same was the now darkest enemy of heaven, the angel of light. He took the youngling, Carbonell Asita, and set him aside from the group.
"Carbonell, you seem to be developing quite well, surpassing your peers," commented the Seraph to him. "You must have quite the high aspirations".

Carbonell bows his head, when praised. "I do my best, sir." His voice is purely respectful and he takes a fair amount of pride in knowing that he was noticed. He knew he was above average in almost everything, except for his ability to keep his mouth shut. He was very good at pretending that he didn't know how good he was, something he demonstrated often. But for now, he needed to sort of 'suck-up', to keep the act going. "Is there anything I may do for you, my lord?" He glances up as he speaks.

The seraph smiles at the boy, wondering if it was heart or wit what made him act so humble.
"Tell me boy, what would you say if I stopped your training? What type of angel do you want to be? A guardian angel who watches over the human souls? A Cherubim who writes and researches everything, recording everything for God? A dominion, ready to lead the armies of heaven against the minions of hell? What is it you desire"

Carbonell pauses, seeming to think. He has the vague feeling that this is a test. "I would be whatever you'd like me to be." He smiles slightly, knowing that he picked a good answer. Sometimes he made himself want to gag with how innocent he seemed. Now was one of those times. He watches the seraph closely, to see if he made the right choice. If he had his choice he'd be a Cherubim, seeing how he doesn't have a good enough attention span to be a guardian angel--he'd get bored of it too quickly, and he likes some of the higher demons, so fighting them wouldn't wok. Also being a Cherubim has it's perks, such as unlimited knowledge. But, he'll just wait and see what he's told.

"Good boy, you will become a fine Dominion,with your skills" said the seraphim, again testing him. The boy was amazing, in fact, he was a bit too amazing, too kind, too humble. Younglings are never like that. Will he really abide my my law, or will he show his true desire? Will he be tempted by the power of leading an army, or do his interests lie elsewhere? This boy was diquieting, but he would figure him out soon enough.

Carbonell mentally curses, but keeps a calm face. "I don't mean to sound rude, but don't you think, with my knowledge, I would be better suited for a Cherubim position?" He knows it's a test and also knows he has no desire for that sort of power. And he does have a small amount of loyalty to one of the higher demons, therefore he will not fight with him, even if ordered.

"So you believe your knowledge enough to challenge the cherubim? Or is it you don't want that power, even though its what you're most suited?" muttered the seraph. "Could you be defying my knowledge?"

The seraph pressed him. Knowledge? Seriously? There has to be something behind this thirst for knowledge. He wanted to know everything, and would subtly press it out of him one way or another.

"Why is it you want to be a cherubim?"

"I would never defy your knowledge. But we all know how quickly I pick things up, in all fields. And power is not something I desire," he states honestly. Carbonell mentally rolls his eyes. But he keeps a calm, polite face. His loyalty will be tested, but he'll keep fighting the Dominion position, subtly of course. "Knowledge is, however, something I want. One can never know enough."

"Interesting.... very interesting" muttered the seraph to himself. "So its knowledge what you seek? But no cherub will ever equal the knowledge of God, you are aware of it are you not?"

A little push, a small defiance, that's all he needed. The fact that he wanted something could be enough, but he needed something more solid. He wanted a temptation,a desire.

Carbonell nods. "I am aware of that, but any knowledge is useful, right?" His hands twitch a bit and he starts to look bored. 'If you don't want my opinion, why ask?' he thinks to himself, trying to stay calm. He can't afford to lose this test. He takes a deep, silent breath, claming himself down. The mask is back on and he seems to be the perfect student.
