The Toymaker laughed with glee as peoples' jaws dropped and children laughed and shouted. Landing his balloon in the town square, he opened a square little door in the side of the basket and stepped out, bowing and twirling his hat in an extravagant flourish.
"Hello, Little Ones, one and all! I am The Toymaker! It's so good to meet you all!!!" As always, the automaton's voice was joyful, and it grew ever more so as parents were forced to draw nearer by their children. "I'm just stopping by because I have a question to ask. It's been confusing me for some time, and I really need your help."
The crowd drew in closer, curious as to what this whimsical metal man had to say.
"Why did you open a portal to Tinkertown? Did you want to get presents from Old Giver Christmas early?"
The crowd began to stir. All of them did not know what Tinkertown was, and only a mixed few knew who The Toymaker meant by 'Old Giver Christmas'. One citizen in particular was outraged, and stepped forward. "Don't go blaming us! We're not responsible for the portals! They've just been openin' up in places for no reason!!!"
Joy turned to puzzlement in The Toymaker's words. "So you didn't do it?" He unscrewed his head then, now juggling about from hand to hand, rolling it along his shoulders and spinning it on his fingertips as he pondered. "Then who did?" He then did a handstand, twirling his head on the edge of his foot before doing a flip and putting his head back on. The children cheered, and The Toymaker bowed before leaning against the basket of his balloon with a sigh. "What do I do now? This game is fun, but it's challenging too... I can't seem to find the clues!"
