Blue's Pixel Corner

Welcome to my little corner. I've been dabbling with really simple pixel art off and on before now. When I seen the announcement about users being able to pixel things to go into the newbie shop I decide it was time to try pixelling some stuff again. Menewsha has been my home on the internet for 5 years now. I love this place and I want to help out in any way that I can. I am open to any and all input, comments and suggestions, since I'm fairly new to pixelling any help that others are willing to give is very much appreciated.


A Little About Me
You may call me bbr, bbrose, rose or blue. I am 25 years old and a former graphic design/game art and design student. Right now I'm working part-time as a personal care attendant and looking for another job. I'm still looking for "Mr. Right", hopefully I'll find him soon. ;) I enjoy drawing (both traditionally and digitally), photography, writing, gaming, knitting and larping (live action role playing).

BBR!! :D yay!

Alrighty - focusing on your wrap scrub shirt.

I really like the overall shape but something about the wrap line bothers me. Do you see in this picture how the line is just one continuous curve from the shoulder to the tie at the side?


In your scrub shirt it bends one direction as a curve but then...rebends as another curve in the other direction. Part of me wants that rebends to just not be there - have it one continuous curve from shoulder to tie..or if it has to bend again - make the curve the same way. I hope I'm making sense XD

I'm really bad at saying what i mean so I hope you don't mind that I kinda drew on your shirt to just show you XD

@ Maria - I see what you mean. I had been staring at that shirt for so long I hadn't even realized the problem with the curve there. I stopped when I did because I was looking for a reference image to help out with that, but it seems that style of scrub top isn't as popular now. I think I have one or two images now to help fix that top up. I also found another top design that I like and might try out.

Yeah and now that I see the reference images I'm wondering if I should rework the entire top so that the tie is on the avatars left instead of the right.

but too lazy to explain. DX

but getting reference is a good start. study the wrinkles, folds. how it fits on the body, how the cloth flash out.
I kinda like Maria's reference. I always like those flaring sleeves... XD

@BBR - what I've learned is that sometimes you just have to rework stuff over and over like my dress of doom that is still unfinished XD If you want to make it tie in the opposite direction, go ahead and do it :D whatever you as the pixellist wants more :D

I'll figure it out later when I have time to work on it. Right now I need to stop procrastinating and go get some stuff done outside.

I agree that it might look more natural if the tie is on the opposite side :) It's worth a try.

I love that dress you are currently working on.

It's so pretty and I wish it was a Mene store item.

I haven't touch the dress in a while. I'll probably dabble with it some more after I get the shirt I'm working on reworked.

I totally started over on the shirt. So far things are going good I think. Just need to fix up the neckline and getting the curve line to the tie finished before I post it again.

The hairpin and the "mene" censors are my favorites here. I know the censors are just a joke item but I like it.

They're all quite adorable. Just as a suggestion (i hope its easy enough) but making it so the females can have a male octohairpin, and viceversa. They're rather adorable. <3
