I think they are both a bit flat. Maybe add a layer of a lighter shade of colors to them. I think the problem with the second one, is that his face is at an angle, and his eyes are not. Well they are, but they're aren't like at the same angle as the head you know? Do you draw guidelines before you put the eyes on? that might help you, if you don't already. I think the one on the right the beginning part needs to be a little higher. I don't see anything wrong wth the first one, it just needs a bit more lighting in it.

Yeah Nanna-Chan, your artwork is good. albeit, it does need work, but all good artisits start somewhere. you can always take classes, and check out Anime/Manga How to books at the library. I found alot of my influence from my Art teacher during highschool. you can also just continuosly draw. the more you draw, the better you get. Keep up the good work. though I recommend you study shading and proportion.

ah, I see. there are sites, I'm sure that can help you. If not there are lots of books. 'How to Draw Manga' is a specific line of book that you can buy in stores, and some of them come in sets with art tools and cd/dvd's which are all specifically used to draw Manga.(anime)

I like these the mose, because they are more in-depth than most other anime/manga how to books. not to mention, it has ways to correct your mistakes, if you make any. and it shows you the proper way to correct them too.
See, when I first started drawing anime/manga style..I made ALOT of mistakes and didn't know how to correct them, but like every thing practice makes perfect. though I am far from perfect in my opinion. I have become more interested in Realism now. I plan at some point becomeing a tattoo artist. though, where I live..it's not a very finansically stable line of work. I had also wanted to be a Fashion designer... but I know the Fashion industry would chew me up and spit me out.... so, I would like to be a writer..if anything at all.

More shading.
And the first one needs hips.
I had that problem for awhile, x'D If you don't make them a little curvy they end up looking like asian teenage boys, with a girl's face. (And bewbs)
I wouldn't say add lighter shade, I would think you should add some darker. Shade a little, the burn tool looks nice, or a browner/pinkish color even.

Very clean looking, which can be good, but I think there should be more deatailes and should be a tad more even on the body.
I'm loving the hair and the hood. Overall, very good, and I see a lot of potential.

Though many people here seem to tell you to study more "how to draw manga/anime", I clearly say: study real muscles, bodies and faces. Learn to know how the muscles and bodies are built up early. It will make it all so much easier. :3 Anime/manga anatomy lack the real muscles and reality of real bodies, and should NOT be studied as base for anatomy, I tell you. To be able to draw good manga/anime, one needs to know real anatomy.

Now, I agree that it looks a little flat, but I think that you should keep on working, because it's not anywhere bad, and practise is the best way to go. I'm rather courius how you will progress here. The hair have a sweet touch. Go, girl! <3

Try practicing the shape of the body parts some more. Your proportions aren't too shabby and your coloring is nice. =)

I like the head shot. I think the reason the eyes are bothering you is because the eye that is closer to you should be the wider/larger one. (In this drawing it should be the one on the left.)
