This is...well...you'd have to read the book for this one..
They are all supposed to be in black and white, but there is a part to the story in each one...

It's not very artistical - You should use a better camera, it seems like you've used a cellphone camera, right?
I like the last one. But you should try making some effects such as more contrast on the photos. It really helps and make it look very much more powerful and actually also prettier and more professional.
I'm not saying this to make you angry or sad, i'm just saying my honest opinion. But i'm a photography geek, i am maybe expecting too much of other peoples photos :|
I believe that you can make the photos much better very easily, just by editing them a little (and saving them in a better file size that doesn't blur the photo. Try .png, although it's a heavy file.

I just tried to modify one of the photos so you can see what i mean:

Here i just made it black/white. It looks a little boring, right? The quality also looks very bad.

Here i made it black/white and added some contrast, so the photo will have more depth. By adding contrast, the quality of the photo also looks better.
The photo is shaken a little, so it's still hard to correct. I just spent about 30 seconds on editing, it's not like i say that what i did made wonders XD

Try taking the next photos with some of these advices:
When you shut the picture, take a deep breath, take the photo when you breath in, this helps making it less shaken.
Use a good camera if possible.
It gives a good effect to sit on the ground and take the photo from 'frogs view'.
Take many photos of the same thing, just from different directions. Then you have more photos to chose from, then you can take the best one. It sucks that you found an awesome place to photograph, and when you come home you realise that the photo is shaken or could've been done better.

The last one is taken from frog view, i love that effect. That photo is really good :)

By the way, good luck with your book, what is it about? :D
