I drew this a couple days ago and I wanted to know if it was actually worth the trouble. It took hours to draw, line and color mainly because of the complexity of the dress. Unfortunately I don't really know if it's good or not because I'm just so angry at it for taking so long. So I want to know what you guys think. Was this worth it or was it worthless and I wasted my time?

It looks nice and I can see that you put ALOT of details into it which isn't wrong, my only CC is to maybe make the arms a little thicker but it looks wonderful, so worth your time and effort. :D

Such a cool design--I like all the details and movement you've added. The anatomy isn't perfect, but the overall look is very pleasing.
Whether a drawing is "worth the trouble," however, I'm inclined to think isn't something you should gauge by the reactions of strangers, or even by whether or not you think it turned out well: consistently drawing things you like takes a lot of practice. Every time you put this much effort into a piece, you learn things that will make the next one go more smoothly...

I completely agree with Roband. I do feel that I must add this: anytime you're sick of looking at a piece, turn it over, save it, do whatever you must to preserve it, then take time away from it. When you return, you'll be able to approach your work with renewed vigor. Lovely colors by the way !

Well no wonder the dress took so long. It looks amazing. I am a decent artist, but I would have gotten horribly lost trying to color that thing. You did a very good job.
As for the amount of time it took to complete the piece. It used to take some painters months or even years to complete one small painting. With art, there is no rush. the piece is done when it is done. You have to spend as much time on it as it requires. That way you'l end up with great looking drawings like this one.

I love the details, like the jewellery and the um, i dont know what the thing she's holding is called, that.
But most of all the dress design is gorgeous! And the colours.
It was definately worth it. Having something infront of you that youve taken time over should be worth it, whether people view it as good or bad in their opinion. You've accomplished a drawing and I see that as very worth the time it takes.
Your picture has actually made me feel like drawing, and I haven't in a longgg time.

Any art is worth your time. Practice makes perfect, no? And this one turned out pretty so dont worry about it. Sure, a few things could have been made a little more carefully (I believe people have stated the things already so I wont dwell on them) but there's plenty of time to do that in the future. You made something that you worked hard on and it turned out pretty. Be proud. ^^

There's certainly room for improvement, but overall it's lovely! Very cute, lots of detail, and you did a great job with the coloring.
I think the elbow in the forefront is a little too far down (that is, the arm from shoulder to elbow is too long). Also, her body's angled a little oddly; the shoulders are along the correct lines from each other, so what is is that we shouldn't be able to see the angle of her back behind her shoulder (at least not so high up).
I can't see anything wrong really with the rest of it. I like it. You've got a lot of talent. Keep it up! ^__^

Definitely worth the trouble! The little details are so pretty, like all of her jewelry, her hair pieces and her staff. It's very well done! She has a very sweet face and a lovely expression and I just LOVE the watery dress. You did a great job coloring it and a great job drawing it~ I for one, think it's great. ^^

Most of the people I know that work very quickly also have decades of experience, so don't feel bad if you feel slow. I feel slow all the time, and I'm an art student.
There are definitely some anatomical issues, but the style is cohesive and it looks lovely. Certainly worth the time you put into it.

o Ao Never should you ask if an art piece is worth the trouble...Dx what are you thinking, posing it?
Of course it is. You gained something from it. Whether you know it or not. Even if you don't like it and don't want to do it again, then at least you know how you feel.
That aside, I love the detail in that dress. Hells faking yea it was worth the trouble just for that especially !

It really was! All art is worth it.
The more effort you put into something the more you get better at it.
The only thing I have wrong with this picture is that face. I just looks like it's out of one of those 'how to draw manga' books that actually aren't all that helpfull.

It is always worth the trouble!:) Remember every time you draw you are getting more detailed and stylistic. Every moment of practice where you push yourself will be a step towards you being a better artist. Every time you make something even if you think it is bad it is a step forward because you realize the flaws you made last time and you will try to remove them the next time you draw! This is true of all forms of art. Mistakes and time are important for making you a better artist.
