Yup! I've decided to take up chibi artwork! This is my first actual attempt following some of the chibi drawing guidelines. Yeah, I know it's not that great, but I could use some opinions and ways I could improve.

I think if you just worked on your anatomy a bit more, you could make some pretty good chibi's. You have to remember that all chibi's really are are the simplified versions of realism. I know this sounds weird, but if you keep up on practicing realism, you're chibi's will come out better and better. =)

I'm bothered with the quality of the photo but I know how hard it is to take pictures of your drawings so I wont whine about that. I think the pose of the figure is a little static so I'll suggest that before you sketch out your actual drawing you should make more simple stick figure sketches on another paper to try out different poses. The more you work on your sketches, the better result you will get in the end.

other than the feet being a little to big its not to bad

The top half is pretty nifty, but the bottom half, starting from the skirt feels lacking. The line work starts to feel wobbly and sketchier. Also, the short legs don't suit it very well. Not the thick rag-doll chibi style at least. I personally don't really like the thick legs to be honest. They'd look better if they were around the same thickness as the arms.

I'm liking the expression lots. For now, you should concentrate on working on form. Look up chibi styles that interest you - well made ones, by people who've had lots of practice - and incorporate the aspects that you like. References are important.

That's actually really great. The first time I tried to draw a chibi, which was a few years ago, it looked like crap.
Your's actaully looks like a chibi. (:
