Posing
So...ignore everything in this picture aside from anatomy, please. The clothing and whatnot was more of a joke to make myself feel better after drawing this, but my main concern is the anatomy as I am just getting back into drawing after a..oh we'll say five year or so hiatus. Anyhow, the link is here. Once again, ignore everything aside from the anatomy/pose. I know the cape is awful, that she has no real hands, that there is no shading, that clothes don't really work like that, and that her cape is clipped to her bare shoulders >_>...Criticism is much welcomed and you can flat out say it sucks, I have already decided that much. I just want tips on how to work on the anatomy.
And I'm rambling, so Ill go now. >> |
References, references, references. c:
What you have now is a good start. Her arms and shoulders look a little thin and wonky, but just looking at a photo reference of a woman standing there and you can see what needs fixins. It's fairly minor and pretty easy to fix, really. By the way, her legs look great. I always have difficulty with legs. |
Thank you! I knew something was majorly off, but I couldn't place it. The arms, of course. Haha. I do not know why I have so much issues with the fricken arms. Thank you again. :]
Also, I was using a reference from posemaniacs.com or something of that sort. I am just awful with full bodies. Hahah. ^^ Anyways, thank you again. <3 |
You should try downloading a program named Poser, it's quite good to work your anatomy. At first it might seem hard to use but it's a great help in the end. You also should read Andrew Loomis Books, he gives great tips in artistic anatomy, perspective and shadows.

I'll look for that program and give it a shot. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. :]
edit:: Oh wow is that program crazy expensive. Lol. It does look like it'd be helpful,t hough. I'll see if my mothers work has access to it and give it a shot if so. Otherwise it is far outside my price range, sadly. |
