FIRST DRAWING AFTER 5 YEARS OF ARTIST'S BLOCK!!!

I haven't drawn in...forever. Which means about 5 years for a trully successful piece of artwork.

Worst. Block. Ever. :rawrmayor:

Anyways, now that my mom got a scanner...I scanned it on this fine day and decided to post it on Menewsha.

Please don't be too harsh. I've only started drawing again afer a 5 year artist's block. Most of my friends question the prescence of her arms...

Her arms are behind her. Its a pose. (Except I would say this while screaming at people who don't know how to draw.)

Btw, the actual size is 3x5. I drew it on an index card. I was bored after I finished my standardized testing this morning and we were sitting out about an hour and a half of extra time. NO talking. NO moving. :vicky: So I whipped out a pencil and index cards ^^

Bring it into an image manipulation program and make your lines darker and the blue more solid. You can download 'GIMP' for free. GIMP is open source and is Mac (and Linux) compatible! I think learning how to use this program and then working on your picture will make your scanned picture look better overall.

It is a little amateur-ish... but I guess it's okay since you haven't drawn for about 5 years. ^^'

Yeah, I'm actually trying to work on that....thing is, I suck at digital editing. My mouse is a bit r-tarded and my hands aren't steady with the mouse. I think that in this situation, a drawing tablet would come handy.

Whenever I have free time at school during my computer class, I open up photoshop and I edit the picture there. Except...the bell usually rings approx. 5 mins after so i can't make much progress.

That's really good. I like it a lot.

Freiheitsflugel 05-24-2010 03:36 PM

thank youuuu!

Five years block? I'd be lucky to get a stick figure right after that long. xD It's really cute. ^^ I used to draw on receipts when I worked in the grocery store, this kind of reminds me of something I'd draw. :P

Oh wow, that's awesome. I've had a bad block as well. I'm still trying to get past it.

Freiheitsflugel 06-08-2010 07:18 PM

Heheee thank you all ^^

EchoMoon 06-11-2010 04:03 AM

Wow, five years?! That's amazing, even if there wasn't a five year mindblock!

I like the emotion that comes from the expression of the face, the dress reminds me of those kimono looking things. I especially like the outlining using purple ink! :D

Freiheitsflugel 06-16-2010 12:54 AM

Heeeheee...yeah the face...I was too lazy to draw open eyes so yeahh...I drew her face with closed eyes and a smile with blush ^^

THANK YOU!

Cevoi 06-26-2010 02:26 PM

That's amazing :)

Skater Chick 06-26-2010 05:39 PM

Wow! Five years block and you can still draw that? I love the shading. :D

Freiheitsflugel 06-28-2010 02:29 AM

heheee thank you! and yeah. Five year block.

Actually. During the third year, I completely lost my skill. I started doodling again and eventually they became pictures I couldn't bring myself to finish. Pretty bad block...and the funny thing is that i fell back into another slump. I can't draw without going through a drawing depression of 5 months >.>

Moostar 06-29-2010 07:22 AM

5 years!? wow thats crazy loll. what inspired you to draw her lol. and I think her pose is cute haha. Love it good job and hope to see more out of you!

btw drawing on a tablet is much easier than using a mouse haha. :]

Can I borrow your Artist's block?
But seriously, it isn't bad at all! Maybe a bit rusty, but for such a long hiatus, it's nice. :3

Freiheitsflugel 07-02-2010 12:55 AM

tank shoo! lol. Yeah, i used to be ten times better. I can just imagine my next drawing...blegh...i just see a big, gray, mean artists block.

Beliar 07-05-2010 07:09 PM

This pretty good for such a long hiatus. Her bottoms look plain, what you can see of 'em, compared to all of the folds on her top. I'd also make her outline a bit darker to match up with the blue a bit more.

Freiheitsflugel 07-05-2010 09:52 PM

Thankssss....i'll make sure on my next drawing....

and with the pants, I wanted to make a pretty skirt or detailed jeans, but my block was starting to emerge again and i was losing desire to continue.

HeartsOrigin 07-07-2010 11:40 AM

awwww look at it xD nce job there :D the outlines make's me dizzy =P
