This is Kefka from Final Fantasy VI
I was wonder what you think of the drawing itself.
I think I may of made the chin a little to far down~
The colors are a little iffy in some places, but
Tell me what you think. :glomp:
Actually, I like the way you did the lineart. The face is actually pretty well done, and as long as her chin is proportional within your drawing style, I think it's okay. ^^
As for the coloring, I would just suggest remembering that to create depth you only need three shades: the shadow, midtone and highlight. Take her hair. You have a good midtone and a good highlight color already, but instead of just streaking the highlight on, try to smooth or blur it into the midtone. Also choose a good shadow tone. And reference a screenshot of this character to see how the hair flows over the skull so that you can reproduce that.
Again, I think this is still a pretty good piece. ^^
As for a critique I would say you need to work more with your shading. I think you made it look that on purpose (having everything cell shaded almost) but I think it really could have made this piece on another level if you had put highlight and shadows in. I see that you DID highlight the hair ever so slightly. But you need to define where the light is actually coming from, where in then you will also need to add shadow of course.
Anatomically speaking, I think the chin looks fine with the style you have used.
This picture is great and your improving by leaps and bounds. : DDDD
Did you use a reference at all for this picture? Like for the pose.
I was mixing kefka's dissidia picture with a hetalia germany cosplayer for this one yes lol.
As for the shading and stuff, I tried XD It hardly shows I suppose.
I guess I'll have chire teach me how to make a good looking mid and shadow tone since she is already an expert on color lol.
To be honest I didn't plan out where the light was coming from when I was coloring this. I was just taking it one little section, and bead at a time XD
But I suppose next time, I shall be more observant on those things.
the Chin dose looked a little to pointed. If you had not mentioned it in you first post i would not have noticed. I completely got lost in all the bright color and odd shape. I love this picture! I would love to see other final fantasy characters done in the same style.
