I really hope I'm doing this right. >__<; Anyway... this is a new style that I've been working on! Been trying to move away from the 'anime' style for awhile now, it's a fun and awesome style but have been wanting to try something new! From anime, I went to Cartoony with exaggerated expressions and whatnot. That was alot of fun. Then I drew in this particular style for the first time. A style that can only be described as "Tim Burton'ish" with the skinny limbs and such. I was just wondering what you thought of the style, and how I did with it. ^^ Any opinions, comments, ideas... anything would be great!
Thanks, in advance! =3

it's good but to be honest I wouldn't call it tim burton-ish at all .. in my mind his style is more defined by the sketchy lines than anything [more like edward gorey ya know] your new style is more dark anime-like with an attempt at painterly colouring.
If I were you I'd get away from the muddied grey shade colours before it becomes habit. Adding more colours in the mix can be weird at first but it's totally worth it in the end because your painting becomes more dynamic and exciting to look at. [your background is more of a purpled grey and her dress would be reflecting a tiny bit of that on to her skin so the shaded areas should be more of a purple than grey.] I think it's a cute style you just need to work on what colouring style you want: cell, soft-cell, painter, marker ect.
[I can do a paint over if my explanation makes no sense XD which half the time I'm not sure that it does but for srs I don't mean to be rude and I hope that none of this comes off as such.]

You don't sound rude at all!! ^^ I really, really appreciate that you'd comment, and point out things the way you do. Compliments
are great, but some critisism actually helps, y'know? xD I always urge people to find something off or seems weird, but usually I get people who just says it's nice and there's nothing wrong. >__<; they're nice of course, and I appreciate it as well but I feel much more accomplished getting some input.
Anyway, you're right and don't worry... I understand where you're coming from! ^^ I don't think you could have explained that any
clearer... I'll try to wrk on that, then. Alot of what you say definitely makes sense, if not everything! xD I guess I just was in it to mess around or do whatever than to have things make some form of sense but I'll work harder on that and see how things go from there... hopefully I can show you too =3!
Thanks so much for the help! :D!

I'm always a little nervous about how people are going to react when I say things about their work even if I make sense so I try to cover all my bases XD
