"A painting is only as good as it's original sketch." ~ a very wise teacher
Hello, and welcome to my painting-in-progress thread. Originally, this thread was my asking for a critique of my sketch. Since I've been continuously updating what the painting currently looks like, I've changed this thread to be a place where I can get critiques from you lovely people while I'm still working on the painting =3 That way I can change stuff immediately if need be instead of having to redo entire sections later.
I would really appreciate your input!
UPDATE:

Well the one thing I'd say is his mouth are looks really weird. It kinda looks like he has some sort of surgeon's mask or duct tape on or something. I don't know. It just looks strange. Actually really that's the only thing I have to say. It looks really good besides that.
hmm... i'll tone the lines there down then. They're supposed to be the sliding joints for his mouth since... he's a puppet and all. But yea, they are too defined right now.
Everything looks fine to me! The lines on the corners of his mouth aren't a problem; I'm sure they might be toned down once you paint it lol I think you did well with this! I'd love to see the finished product too lol
Thanks guys, really. I'll be sure to post the finished product here if you really want to see it. I'll be working on it today, assuming free time at work permits.
I'm being really really chicken about actually starting the painting process XD The daunting task of making a background is quite intimidating to me...
Very nice! You got the shading down well I think. Hmm yeah backgrounds are intimidating haha -cops out a lot- But I'm sure you'll do fine. Don't stress out, and just do what you think is right!
Personally I thought the neck is a little too thick or head too small at first, but once you started the shading it didn't bother me anymore. The shading tied it together I think. I'm interested in seeing how this looks as you progress, it is looking good so far!
