I really need more practise, since just about everything I draw I struggle with positioning and proportion.
If anyone has any tips on fast colouring and shading, it would be much appreciated too, most of my drawings are black and white, because it takes so long to colour anything in.

I think you're off to a great start. For coloring, try shading with a contrasting color. It creates more contrast and tends to look much better than just darkening your base color.

- I think your art is already pretty nice :3
Every time I click on a picture on your DA, firefox dies. So I can't see the full view of the image.
But by the thumbnails, they look nice ! XD;

Thanks Aeris, you are always so sweet <3
Keeyats: I wonder why that happens, I'm using firefox right now too. Maybe I should be glad you can't see them in full view? Thumbnails always look better XD

I think you are doing great so far ^^ Cg needs a lot of pratice and time and you are in the right path right now. As for position and things, you don't ned to do a complete cg to train for that. Take a magazine, select a few photo and reproce them in only one minute. That'll train you to select the best lines ^^

Not bad ^^
I quite like how you've done Aeris's hair.
And as for proportion, do you lay things out and have a rough idea of where to position it before you start?
Although i'm rubbish at giving advice so ;p

@GainaSpirit: That an interesting exercise, I'll try it out, thanks! I have tried drawing from models before, but as I was concertrating on the details, it took a long time and didn't turn out very well. Your method of training sounds much better ^_^
@LessThanThree: Thanks! I generally have some idea, I try to draw the head and lines for eyes, nose, etc, but it never traslated well once I actually start drawing, the eyes end up being to big, or the nose too long ^^;; A friend of my used to red line my sketches, and that helped a lot, but I've never learnt to distinguish well on my own XD

xD I think you draw really well.
I have the same problem as you. I can't make things proportional. D: It's quite hard.
Keep up the good work! =D

About the avatar drawing:
The colouring is fantastic... There's something about the face outline that I don't like... But I can't put my finger on what it might be... I'm sorry that isn't very helpful ^.^;
