Death by Spear (C&C welcomed)
 

I'm pretty new here... something like 20 minutes new lol
I figured I post somewhere where I'm more familiar with... the art forums.

I'll go ahead and post a piece I've been working on for a while. Let me know what you think or what could be improved on.

Nice, I like the way that you have the skeletal structure. And the spear through the head is a welcome touch ^_^

I could use a lot of work on the body of the skeleton actually. There's a couple of major mistakes that I made that stand out like a sore thumb to me, but it's still in it's begining stages. After working on it for a week. I though it best if I leave it alone for a while and then come back to it. A while became a week, a week became a month, and a month became two months lol.

If I don't fininish anytime soon, I don't think I'll ever finish it lol.

It's original and it looks sweet, some color could help thought but besides that its a great skull.

I can see a few mistakes in the anatomy of the skeleton (assuming its a human =p) but those few are outweighed by the skill of the peice.

Its nicely done I want to see the finished version. :P

Mad Hatter: Yeah, I had a lot of trouble with the collar bone and the ribs the most. I know the neck is also just a tad bit off. I'll figure a way to mask that though lol. Maybe some dynamic coloring skills would draw the attention away from the mistakes LOL.

Anyway, is that a cloth or a smoke that comes out from the skull? If it's a smoke then I think the edge maybe a bit too sharp that to me it looks more like a piece of cloth. :? It may be better to fade out the edge of the smoke on the top to make it look like it really fades into the air.

I'll probably fix a lot of the mistakes when I color it. It was drawn with PaintShopPro so... a lot of those mistakes made are easily fixed. ;)

great job, you are very talented! I love the skull.

The details in the spear and skull are amazing but your body needs more work. I think a good work over and then a good clean up with nice lines will defiantly help. :) Good luck.
