I'm new here, and would like some thoughts and suggestions from the community first on my lovely head sketches. I do avatars and OCs alike, and they are of this quality:



Its a simple headshot of a gaian avi with a gradient. x3 Here's an OC bust example.

Any ideas as to how I can improve? Especially on the shading of the hair (though I'm not sure HOW to shade hair in a sketch).


As for my lovely CGed WIP, its a contest entry on gaia. The egg and pet are both incomplete, but the girl for the most part, is finished.



And ideas on how to improve on the quality of her face, and more importantly, her HAIR? D: I hate hair. <//3 Well, I love it, but I want it to look nice.


And on another note, do you think I'd do alright selling this sort of thing here? Or more importantly, how much I should ask? I think CGs will be saved for auctions though, because they are TERRIBLY time consuming.

I love your sketches, you capture different expressions really well.

I wish I could help with the hair, unfortunately I'm not so great with it either. My only tip is to pay attention to the way real hair goes, where it comes from the scalp and where it parts.

The CG is coming out really nicely, I like the angle from above. My only comment is that the eyes are a little too far apart.

Akemi; I had been wondering what exactly was wrong with the face, and I can see it now, and will defiantly alter the eyes so they're a bit closer together. Thanks!
