OH MY MAYONNAISE ---> Kami Arts. >w<

Hiya guys, Kami here~ I just wanted to show some art that I did not too long ago, see if I can get some helpful critique~ :3 I'm contemplating opening an art shop, but I want to see what everyone else has to say first. Please, I know my art isn't OMG THE BEST EVER, but be nice. Thank you. <3

P.S. - They're all thumbnails because I didn't want to stretch the page. Click on them for the full sized image! <3

Just finished this a few minutes ago:

Cuuuute!

Cute art. n.n Maybe improve on the fingers a tad but their like always the hardest part. Dx

:3 Otherwise just improve a tad on the detail of the hair. n.n Overall its very cute & well-drawn.

:]

EDIT :: The neck seems a bit long upon closer inspection [the first one] so shorten it a tad.

Okay, thank you very much. ^^

I like them, they're cute.

For suggestions I'd say you should make the shoulders a little bit narrower and the neck slightly shorter. The torso looks a little off balance too, make the belly button not so low.

Erm, and also maybe lower the bust line, her chest is a bit high.

Hope I helped! -prolly didn't-

aonith 10-12-2007 08:44 PM

Oh my God! :'D
Your last work is like totally amazing <33 It amused me so much xDD
Anyway, your drawings are nice and I see you have some skills. The only problem I see is about the anatomy. A bit more practice wold do.
So, keep up the good work and good luck! <3

Cute! The last picture has a really awesome, unique style. Some general anatomy practice would be good, but I really like how you did the stomach and hair on the first.

You do have some anatomy problems on the first and second. Er, bear with me, but the aspect I'm going to comment on is the bust. I tend to feel a little odd when I critique people on this aspect xD. It's alright on the first picture, but on the anthro one, you can barely tell it's a female chest. If that was the point, then it's good, but if not, try to think of the breasts as a separate element from the chest. Draw the chest first, then add the breasts to it. I like to draw a short line behind the breasts to illustrate that a bit better. Emphasize the roundness and softness, even if they're smaller (you did a great job of that on the first picture, though :3). The necks are also a little bit long, but at a perfect thickness.

Those are cute!!!! I love the third one and the last one, I think they're the most adorable. :]

And the last one also made me laugh. I don't know why... It just did. xD

The necks and shoulders of the first two drawings are a tad strange. The necks are a bit too long, and the shoulders too wide. It makes the women look kind of... Manly. But that's okay, just keep practicing and you'll get better and better! ^__^

those are incradible :)

1 pic: The girls neck is too long and her anatomy is a bit off. The hair needs to look more like hair, when I look at the hair it looks like some plastic or just something thats very solid and unmovable. Also the mouth is too far away from the nose, try looking in the mirror and remember the distance thats between your nose and your lips. The hands are well done but Id suggest you make the fingers a little longer because they sort of look like duck feet and draw the hands a lttle bigger because they are too small for the body.xD

2 pic: The head is very well done but the same as the first pic her neck is too long other then that I think its quite good.

3 pic: Now this picture is very well done.I dont see anything wrong with this.=2 thumbs up= :D

4 pic: This picture is also very well done but the hands are a little bit off.Try practising hands.

5 pic: I really like this picture.I think that this is the best of them all.Great work! :)

Well I hope this helps you and dont forget practise, practise and practise.Youll get better just wait and see!

Wow, sorry about not responding 'til now, guys. XDD I didn't realize anyone had posted in here! *shot*

@Katya: Ah, thank you. ^^ Yes, you certainly helped~!

@aonith: Thank yew~ >w< Yes, Earl is known to amuse. :D Originally drawn on my math study guide, which is where the rubbish speech bubble came from. ;D

@EllfieNix: Thank you for your help~ XDD Seems like my anatomy and proportion are very much off. XD I'll work on it!

@Phen Kwin: Aw, thank you. ^^ And I'm glad Earl made you laugh~ And yeah, I can definitely see what you mean. XDD I'll try and fix that~

@blueangel84: Thank you so much! <33

@pompon-chan: XDD The first one's anatomy is really off, I'll try to fix it. And yes, I see what you mean about the hair. >< Seems I like to draw my necks too long, eh? XDD I'll try not to do that in the future~ Also, I'll work on hands. ^^ But I'm glad you like my Gaia avatar one and Earl! <333

You have a pretty nice style, but you also still have much room for improvement.

This whole post is going to be about your first picture :D

Firstly, in my opinion, her neck and face is too long for my taste, but that's just me. I also think that her top looks a bit muscular, but her bottom looks a bit skinny. O3O

Also, I think that her hands are wayy to small for sure, and the hand that is waving to us could use some extra lines so we can tell if the front of the hand or the back of the hand is facing us (although, one can tell by the positioning of the thumb)

Lastly, I think her upper body (excluding the belly) is a bit elongated.

Otherwise, you have a pretty good grasp on your anatomy and a very unique style. Maybe next time, you can show me a colored picture for a human.

I'm glad you understould what I ment...I have problems explaining things to people. xD

Naiyo 10-14-2007 05:45 PM

Hmm you have a good start for sure, and I can see that you have your own style developing. The only thing I can really think of as far as crit goes is the hands are very small (at least on the first 2 pieces) and when working with pencil be very careful about cleaning it up because it can look really bad after a scan. >_<; (not that yours do, just from experience)
Very nice stuff you have thou, good luck with your shop when you open it.

Takuto 10-14-2007 06:38 PM

You have a very nice style!
The neck seems a bit long though! But overall it is very nice! ^_^.

charis_mae 10-14-2007 07:10 PM

In the first picture the torso seems too wide compared to the arms and head.

  • Well, I can't add all that much to what's already been said... but you're getting there.

Keep practicing and eventually you'll get really good. I recommend trying digital art more. (That way it's easier to fix if you make a mistake) and then when you get proportions down, go back to traditional medias.

I do really like the one of your avatar and your new pet. <3
